My doctor gave me hydroxyzine pills on april 12th 2012, and I want to know if there safe to take again? ## HI, Nicky! How are you? Tablets begin to degrade once they are exposed to the elements, such as heat, light and moisture. This means that their time starts ticking away as soon as the seal on the original factory container is broken. From that point on, they have a one year expiration date and after that year, they being to lose effectiveness. Hydroxyzine isn't one that has been known to be dangerous once it's expired, but it's not going to continue working and having its intended beneficial effects. Is it safe to use Hydroxyzine when you have open angle glaucoma? If not, what medicine can I use that will help me with my allergies and allow me to sleep at the same time? I'm also trying to wean off Clonazepam because I got my self hooked on 0.5 mg every night and not I can sleep if I don't take Clonazepam. I'm trying to find a similar brand of hydroxyzine. Glenmark stopped making hydroxyzine a few years back and I can't seem to find another brand that works as well. Do you know of any brands with similar makeup as Glenmark i.e. fillers, ingredients so forth? Any recommendations on brands I can try?

Hi everyone. My lawyer just called me and said I tested positive on my urine test. I take HYDROXYZINE PAM 50-100mg (for sleep), 15 MG 5 times a day of BUSPIRONE HCL, and CLONAZEPAM 1MG 3 times a day. I’ve never failed a drug test before. I have been taking zquil (alcohol free) for when I’m having a really hard time sleeping. This contains DIPHENHYDRAMINE HCI. Since being prescribed hydroxyzine I falsely tested positive at my pain clinic for methadone. I also orally take oxycodone, lamictal, xanax, cymbalta, diphenhydramine, zantac, tums, and have an internal pain pump supplying me with dilaudid. Any clue? ## Update....I went back a week later as required and took the same test. Meanwhile th first "positive test" was sent to a lab for further testing. After taking the second test I was in the exam room waiting for the doctor and when he came in it was as if nothing happened. He wrote my script for a month and off I went.
