What Is The Difference Between Metropolol 25 mg Er And Metropolol 25 mgTart? ## The ER stands for extended release, that means that formulation of Metoprolol is slowly released in your body, over time, rather than all at once, like the standard medication that the other one is. Sometimes, when a patient is taking the regular release to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, it helps, but doesn't keep it under control for a very long period of time and in those cases, it may be necessary for a doctor to switch someone to the time released formulation, to keep the medication in their body longer. Metoprolol is a beta blocker and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach pain. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments?

Mydoctor wants me to take this instead of a generic for it. It is very much more expensive than the generic. What is the difference. Thank you for your answer. . ## This is a generic, but it is a time released formulation and yes, they are usually more expensive than the regular release formulations. However, having the medication release slowly over a certain time period, can give better control of blood pressure and cardiac conditions. Learn more Metoprolol details here. Hi, i would really appretiate it if someone could give me advice. I have had heart problems since i was a teen. Nothing serious but when i recently(finally) got it checked out the doctor perscirbed me, Metropolol 25mgs. Long story short, it was great. I was able to excersice without palpatations, or feeling like blacking out. Anyway, i dont have insurance anymore and i cant refill untl i get an X-Ray and have a doctor give me another script..Jesus Christ! I cant afford that. And, well looky here, conditions get worse when stopping? Wow i love doctors.. I can rant about how strongly i disagree on docotrs handing out scripts to patients and watching them either get hooked on pain killers, or go crazy on happy pills to only fix them by giving them more pills! Anyway, well i am getting a lo...

After many years on Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide my doctor switched me to a combination of 50 mg of Metropolol with 10 mg Amlodipine. I was stage II hypertensive even on 40/25 of the Lisinopril with readings averaging 184/94. The new combination has lowered the BP to about 134/82 on average, but I constantly have this weird pressure in my head like it's going to explode. Not exactly a headache, but a weird pressure. And I just don't feel well. I've been on this for 2 weeks. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It doesn't really fit the listed side effects. It rather scares me. I asked the doc and she was stumped, told me to try for another week or so. ## Is there any way you can describe it more specifically? I'm sorry, but that is rather vague. I understand if y...

I take 1 Metoprolol every day. I have for two years. I need to take a laxative and wanted to make sure that was ok. The active ingredient in the laxative is Sennoside. ## There any problems or interactions that I can find listed between the two, but you should make sure to take them a few hours apart. Otherwise, if you take them too close together, you do run the risk of not having the Metoprolol in your stomach and digestive tract long enough for it to be absorbed and used by your body. I was put on lisinopril 6 months ago by my pcp. I have had different side effects that come and go during the entire time (dizziness, lightheaded, nausea, flushing, hot hands and feet, then tingling). About two weeks ago I had a lot of flushing, but my blood pressure was fine. In fact twice it dropped down too low, 80/53 then went right back up. One day my heart starts racing and fluttering. I think it's a panic attack, ignoring it, and long story short was admitted to the hospital with a new diagnosis of Afib with RVR. They finally helped convert me back to a sinus rhythm overnight. I'm now put on metoprolol, eliquis and am to continue taking my 10mg of lisinopril... During the next two weeks I see a cardiologist and tell him that I'm constantly anxious, always feel like I...

Terrible angina on minor exertion. Legs need cat scan for vascular blockage. Isosorbide 30mg helps angina for 12-15 hours then I might need a small nitro tablet. Also the isosorbide has made my blood pressure perfect. This after a four year battle just taking 25 mg metropolol twice a day a 50 mg of losartan once. My question, do I need to take the losartan and metropolol anymore? I also take plavix. You should know that my problems started four years ago when a drugstore BP machine indicated my BP was high. My doctor at the time prescribed hydrochlorothorazide and lisinopril. four days later I was in the emergency room with fried kidneys. In summary, the two aforementioned drugs, and amlodipine, clonidine damn near killed me. I wouldn’t give them to a dog. After two years of this,...
