I would like to know the after-effects of Livogen captabs, manufactured by Merck labs ## Livogen is a nutritional supplement that contains Ferrous Fumarate (Iron) and Folic Acid. Thus, it hasn't really been tested for side effects, as is done with actual prescription drugs, but the iron has been known to cause constipation and dark stool in some people that take it. My doctor has just prescribed Folbic tabs because my Homocysteine level was high. I have been trying to find out how much folic acid is in each pill. I take Methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis. From what I read the only difference between Folic Acid and Folbic is that Folbic contains B12 am I wrong ## Folbic actually contains Pyridoxine, Cyanacobalamin and Folic Acid, so it has two B vitamins with the Folic Acid. Learn more Folbic details here. So, for anyone else seeking information, they are different and you should take the specific one that your doctor directed you to use. please tell if this is the same as metanx will it help and how much do it cost ## Hello, Grace! How are you? No, from what I'm seeing listed by the FDA, they are not the same. Folinic is a folic acid supplement, while Metanx contains more nutrients, including the B vitamins. I'm sorry, but I don't have a price to quote you, either. The best way to get prices would be by contacting your pharmacy. Since some of these supplements are potent, they cause nausea, in some people that take them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been given Metanx Tabs as a substitute for Iberet Folic, which I have taken for 15 years as part of my treatment for prenacious anemia. I have 2 Haemorrhagic cysts (3x2cm) in my right ovary and 1 uterine fibroid (9mm) since 2 months after my gynae gave me HCG injection. Medicines I am taking are : Deplatt CV 20 (1 tab daily), Monotrate OD 50 (1 tab daily), Valzaar 80 (2 tabs daily), Nebicard 10 (1 tab daily), Flavedon MR 35 mg (2 tabs daily); for prostrate problem, I am taking Urimax 0.4 (1 tab daily); for arthritis, I am taking Folitrax 7.5 (1 tab weekly). Along with these I am taking Cobadex Czs (1 tab daily) and Folvite 5 (1 tab daily). Is Folvite 5 necessary? I understand Cobadex Czs also has 'Folic acid'. Is any of these medicines superfluous?
