I need a cheaper inhaler. Flovent is way too expensive on my new insurance - $299. Any suggestions? ## Hello, Lynne! How are you? Unfortunately, I have no idea what would be a cheaper alternative. Have you tried asking your pharmacist? They should be able to let you know what would be equivalent for a cheaper price, then you could speak to your doctor about trying it. Some people have good luck with Symbicort, which is very similar. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including headache, dry mouth, dry throat, diarrhea and nausea. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ## Hello, I inherited allergies from both sides, Mom's Mom & Dad's Dad, been through allergy shots (HA!) twice only to get sicker from such dribble. A clean environment is the best medicine BUT ...

I am taking Flovent Hfa 120 Inh 110mcg. Is there a good substitute that is not as expensive? ## There is no generic for any formulation of Flovent currently available, from what I've found the soonest that one may reach market would be around December 2012. Have you discussed this issue with your doctor? There are several other corticosteroid inhalers available, but I am not sure what would be cheaper, compared to what you are paying now, since you didn't state how much it costs in your area. ## You might find one in your insurance listed in the alternative list but I DID NOT. re: Discuss/Flovent-alternative-284510.htm

What is simular in the US to the Flexatid (made in France) against asthma ## Hi, Would you happen to know what the active ingredients of Flexatid are? That would help the visitors to find equivalent US brands. Paul ## I asked this question about Flexatid. The international name is Fluticasone. ## Dan, US Brand Names of Fluticasone are Flonase and Flovent, both are manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. Best Regards, Paul ## Paul, thanks a lot. My Mom uses it, she came to visit me from Europe, she forgot to take two more packes necessary for a period of her stay here, so I did not know what to do. You helped a lot. Thank you again!

Has anyone used Respridol for Tourette's Syndrome? My son is almost 9, and may also have ADD. He is not really hyper, and behaves well at school. He was just started on Clonidine, but it hasn't been long enough to tell anything. The doc also mentioned Respridol, so I was just wondering. He also has moderate asthma, under control with Flovent. Thanks! ## Risperdal contains Risperidone, it is a potent atypical antipsychotic, which is approved to treat Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and Schizoaffective disorder. Most other uses are off-label and I have no information on it being used for Tourettes. Have you asked the doctor about it? You can learn more about the medication here: ## I just started using Flovent and was advised to rinse my mouth and gargle after using to avoid getti...

I take flovent, tramadol, promethazine, cephalexin500mg,naproxin, medoxyprogesterone, cetirizine, and lutera can that show up positive for amphetamines cause my hair test came back light positive? ## Although I haven't located any definitive information confirming the possibility of a false positive for amphetamines from any of those medications, I do believe that it's still a strong possibility due to the faulty standard drug tests they use today. A lot of these standardized drug tests have a fairly high false-positive response, where it seems as though anything is likely to show up, no matter what you took. To my knowledge, false positives are known to occur on them anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. Have you asked your doctor about getting re-tested? I hope you can get this ...
