I am using calana, a calcium blocker medicine. Now I'm suffering from high blood pressure with a moderate reading of 150/70. Can I use diclofenac potassium? ## You should not take this medication, unless your doctor instructs you to do so, because it can cause elevated blood pressure and fluid retention as side effects, according to the NIH. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Has your doctor prescribed this for you?

I was on 35mc/hrt Transdermal patches. My gp has told me I'm to be taken off the patches and use co codamol at highest dose he can give as well as diclofenac at the highest daily dose. I have osteoarthritis in my top part of my neck and my last 5 discs are slowly coming together. I also take 1000mg of naproxin daily as well as 30mg Amitriptyline per day. And I'm still experienceing chronic pain.

Will this drug raise your sodium level or cause problems for someone on blood presssure medications? Can it cause a problem with your kidneys? ## The sodium in the name just refers to the type of chemical salt it is derived from, so no, it will not raise your sodium levels. However, Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and, as such, it is generally not advised to be used by people with high blood pressure, because it can cause fluid retention, which may lead to congestive heart failure. Has your doctor advised you to use this?

What is this drug used for? ## Diclofenac, a generic for Voltaren is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, commonly used to relieve pain and swelling. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. More details may be read here: ## Does Diclofenac 50mg interact with Oxycontin ? I take Oxycontin 10mg TDS and Diclofenac 50mg BD ## Does diclofenac react with blood pressure medication? ## I was injected with Diclofenac 3 times within a week due to dental abscess & I do not recommend it as reacted badly due to having poor circulation & CHF, with BP sky high but heart rate dropping too low. My Doctor knew of my chronic illness. I would be careful of using this if elderly or have a heart problem as it apparently constricts the arteries.

I have been retaining fluids more than usual since I have been taking this med. ## Hi ann, It is true that Diclofenac's side effects may also be contributing to the fluid retention. I posted a list of a few of them below for your own reference: diarrhea constipation gas or bloating unexplained weight gain swelling of the eyes, face, tongue, lips, throat, arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000882/#a689002-sideEffects To help with fluid retention, I would also recommend staying away from foods that are high in sodium: (particularly frozen/packaged foods, as they usually contain well...

Can you take Tylenol with Diclofenac sod 100mg to relieve lower back pain? ## From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions or contraindications listed between Tylenol and Diclofenac. So based on that information, you should be fine taking the two together without experiencing any such complications. The main concern with Tylenol (acetaminophen) in my honest opinion, is just staying within safe dosing limits, due to it's notorious reputation for causing liver damage at higher doses and/or when taken for a prolonged period of time. I hope this info helps. can this medication cause hilousinations? ## Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. So no, it shouldn't cause hallucinations, that's not a normal side effect, those would be things like nausea, headache, dizziness and stomach irritation. However, it could possibly occur if someone was having an odd reaction to it, or if they took extremely high dosages and were in active overdose. Learn more Diclofenac details here.

My same problem highlighted on declofenac forum. some seem to suffer stomach upsets from Ameprazole. the very symptom I'm using it to avoid. So, now I don't know which drug the faint tummy pain is caused by!? Is it DF or AMP or both??? ## Hello, Gus! How are you? When did the stomach issue start? Did it start while you were just taking the Diclofenac, or after you added the Omeprazole? That will likely help determine you answer. If you aren't sure, you should consult your doctor about stopping one for a few days, to see if the stomach issues stop.. ## Verwon, hello again. I have been taking diclofenac sod 75 mg ec tab twice a day for about a month, for arthritis in my ankle. It helps early in the day, but does not last until the next pill is due. Same with the one I take in the evening, and when I get up in the morning I can barely walk. Is it possible for these to be prescribed 3 times per day, or would the 100 mg. give me longer coverage, or ? ? ?. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks ## Have you discussed this with your doctor? Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and a higher dose won't necessarily give you a longer time of efficacy, but from what I am reading some people with Arthritis do take it up to 3 times a day, as long as they don't go over 200mgs daily. You may want to discuss it with your doctor, because a 50mg dosage taken...

Lumiracoxib Drug Index

Lumiracoxib is a COX-2 selective inhibitor nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Its structure is different from that of other COX-2 inhibitors, such as celecoxib: lumiracoxib is an analogue of diclofenac (one chlorine substituted by fluorine, the phenylacetic acid has another methyl group in meta position), making it a member of the arylalkanoic acid class of NSAIDs; it binds to a different site on the COX-2 enzyme than do other COX-2 inhibitors; it is the only acidic coxib and has the highes...

Is this drug safe to take with gabapentin 600 mg? Also what dosage? How often can it be taken? ## Does Rumoquin N.F. interact with Metoprolol 25 mg or Atorvastatin 40 mg ## @Brownie, Rumoquin NF contains a combination of diclofenac, methocarbamol and dexamethasone. Because these are all prescribed drugs, the doctor who is prescribing them to you should be aware of anything else you are taking alongside them. If your doctor didn't give you any dosing advice, I would recommend calling him/her asap. Ironically, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), diclofenac and dexamethasone have a "high interaction potential"; that is to say it is NOT recommended you take them together, which I find odd since they are both included in the s...

is the drug aceclophenac schduled under any category ## I think you mean Aceclofenac? If so, yes it is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This drug has higher anti-inflammatory action than conventional NSAIDs. It is a cytokine inhibitor. Aceclofenac works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase. Cyclo-oxygenase is involved in the production of prostaglandins (chemicals in the body) which cause pain, swelling and inflammation. Aceclofenac is the glycolic acid ester of diclofenac.
