Friend gave it to me to use for my son's poison ivy does it work? ## Betamethasone dipropionate cream is a topical corticosteroid that is commonly used for treating allergic reactions to poison ivy and other similar plants. It works by depressing the formation, release, and activity of different cells and chemicals that cause swelling, redness, and itching. I suppose it might work differently for everyone, but in the event that it doesn't work as well as intended, you may want to consider some natural options. I ended up finding several types of natural poison ivy treatments on Google, if you're open to any suggestions?

My daughter has been using this for 3 days now, I notice that the skin of the wound is cracking and peeling, it also turned dark, is it normal? by the way my daughter had been trying so many ointments prescribed by the doctors those were: flucotisone and antibiotic ## Hi Teresa, Based on my research, some side effects of Clotrim Beta Diprop Cream include: blistering, burning, itching, peeling, dryness, and redness. That means that this cream could be causing your daughter's skin to react. If it were me, I would discontinue the use of this product until you can meet with your physician. I haven't found any information stating that you shouldn't mix this cream with the other drug you mentioned, Flucotisone, however I'm not sure about the antibiotic you mentioned. Does it h...

This cream is not available in any medical store. Doctor himself sells this cream. Now I got alternative cream from medical store in which Gentamycin is not present. Can I use this? ## Hello, Nishant! How are you? Gentamycin is used to treat bacterial infections, so it will not do anything to help with a fungal infection. ## Ok I got an breakout from latex or the ky jelly within a hour from the gyn I wanted to know can I use Clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream inside and outside my vagina or is there anything I can use ## What type of breakout? This cream combines an antifungal medication (Clotrimazole) with a steroid, (Betamethasone), so there is a risk of it making some issues worse. The FDA also warns that it may cause side effects, such as skin redness, irritation, itching, and flaking. And you should not use anything inside your vagina that has not been specially formulated for such use. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Have you ever had issues with latex, before?

Does this cream contain alcohol? I would like to know if this cream contains alcohol. ## Hi Maria, In order to determine the list of inactive ingredients one would need to know who the manufacturer is or at least have a product on hand to check the label. Generic Betametasona + Clotrimazol + Gentamicina cream may contain any set of fillers if there's no way to identify who makes it or what the actual packaging has on it. However I do see that one company by the name of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals does use a combination of "benzyl alcohol + cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol" in their particular Clotrimazole + Betamethasone dipropionate cream [minus the Gentamicina]. So I think it would be normal to assume that they use alcohol in similar products, but you should probably contact t...

what is this used for ## i would like to know what this ointment is used for ## 12 years ago, at a time of great stress in my life I had terrible rash in feet/lower legs which 4 (!) dermatologists looked at, prescribed creams for, each made it worse than before. In desperation I went to NYU dermatology medical center which first told me to throw all creams & lotions prescribed and then conducted contact/other allergy tests which were all negative. They then prescribed an ointment formulated & dispensed exclusively at the hospital pharmacy, with many refills which immediately started working, i.e., it was soothing & it didn't make it worse. I refilled this many times & eventually it all went away & never came back. I kept my last jar in case it ever came back to b...

ive been having ear problems an no meds the doc gave me worke. went to a ear specialist and saw nothing wrong .but it still aches, he gave me this to put in my ear is that ok to use, ## Hi Denise, Sorry to hear about your ear infection. I realize this post is from a while back, so I hope you've managed to get things under control at this point in time. For future reference though, Clotrimazole + Betamethasone dipropionate is comprised of an antifungal + glucocorticoid steroid with anti-inflammatory & immunosuppressive properties. It's generally applied as a lotion, gel, topical cream or ointment. However, I don't see anything that says it's good for a bacterial infection (unless it's fungus related)... So you may need to get a second or third opinion on what trea...

Is there an overthe counter substitute for this cream. I have a groin rash and inch ## If you're looking for an OTC alternative, it most likely wont be quite as strong or effective as this prescription cream. I know over-the-counter Clotrimazole is 1%, but prescription Lotrisone (Clotrimazole + Betamethasone) cream also contains 1% of Clotrimazole + 0.05% Betamethasone. Maybe you could ask your pharmacist if they carry an OTC version of Betamethasone at a lesser percentage, and just combine the two? ## Can you use Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropiomate on areas that you have been bitten by Yellow Jackets that come up out of the ground, I am a Diabetic

How long will this condition take to heal with this cream? ## DO NOT USE INSIDE YOUR VAGINA! It clearly says that on my tube (no vagina). Not nose, mouth or eyes either. Use twice a day at the same schedule. Not longer than five days in a row and definitely not longer than 4 weeks!!!

My husband used Gelmicin cream that we picked up from Mexico on a diabetic ulser he had on his toe for over a year that was cracking and taking a long time to heal but not infected. I have used diprolene cream or Betameth cream before it is the only thing that works for me. I've had this problem on and off for years and have been to the best Doctor this is what works for me. ## Don, you might try to see if the generic form is available, which is Betamethasone Dip 0.05%. Should be available in a tube or bottle as an ointment, cream, or lotion (depending on what you were taking before). Check out drugstore.com and search for "Betamethasone Dipropionate". Also make sure you have a valid prescription handy. Hope this helps and good luck!

Have a tube of Clotrimazole Beta. Dipro. cream, 1%. Don't know how long I've had it and can't interpret date code on end of tube. It is 669K 00T12 -- please tell me what the expiration date is. ## Look at the metal end of the tube and you will see the expiration date. You may need a magnifier. It is etched. ## Bob, can you see the manufacturer name on there anywhere? If so let me know, maybe it would be possible to contact them with that lot # and they could know the date based on that? And Jasmine's suggestion is probably right too, any luck with that? Interested to know either way. ## I posted the "Exp. date" etched on the end of the tube. But it's not a date!
