Oxycodone/naloxone, sold under the trade name Targin and Targinact (in the UK) among others, is a combination pain medication. It is available as modified-release tablets and is taken by mouth. The oxycodone component is an opioid and is responsible for the pain-relieving effects. Naloxone opposes the effects of opioids but is poorly absorbed into the body when given orally, meaning almost all the dose stays within the gastrointestinal tract and reduces the local side effects from the oxycodo...

I can’t seem to find an answer. If oxycodone now has naloxone in it so that there isn’t an euphoric high, isn’t that the same as the Suboxone? Suboxone has naloxone in it but it must also have the narcotic also, otherwise how would it keep people from going into full blown withdrawals? The new pain pills are the SAME EXACT thing, they stop the withdrawals but do nothing for the pain? So aren’t we as the consumer/patient being misinformed as to the true nature of the new formulated pain pills? I’m in pain but oh thank you I still have narcotics in my blood. Naloxone stomps on the opioid, so what’s the sense??? Wouldn’t it be better to know the truth? Oh and by the way, UFOs exist lol. Loooking for the truth. ## Big Red Balloon, From what I can re...

How effective are the A51 blue oxycodone pills? Does it work like the mbox 30's V's Or A215??? ## Hello, Chris! How are you? Yes, this is a 30mg regular release Oxycodone tablet, equivalent to Roxicodone, just like the others you mentioned. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I don't want to burst anybody's bubble but the A51's are 150% different than if you were taking the blues that are 30 milligrams no matter if they are the M boxes the a214 ,the V's ,or the k9. You CANNOT abuse them. they have an opiate blocker in them for safety regulations called naloxone...... they are made so you ca...

I took a 4mg suboxone strip about 8 or 9 hrs ago. I have blood clots that r very painful so I'm wondering if I take a 15mg oxcodone will it help the pain now? ## Hello, Angie! How are you? Most likely not, since the Naloxone in the Suboxone neutralizes other opiates. If you're being treated for addiction, it may also violate your contract to take another opiate, while you're under treatment. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you discussed this issue with the prescriber?

I'm a Journalism student from Western University writing a story about take-home Naloxone programs. Wondering if anyone here has used a Naloxone kit and what your experience was like? ## I am 35 years old and I am percribed 90 10mg oxycodone. I've been on and off of pain meds since I was 16. I was having a lot of back issues since the birth of my oldest 3 children so at that time a friend referred me to a pain clinic in the great state of FLA during the "pill mill" epidemic. My Dr. here in MD agrees with me in saying that I was totally mismanaged being perscribed in 2008 thru 2010 with 30mg oxycodone / 240 a month as well as 90 2mg of xanax. I very soon became addicted but when I found out I was 3mo pregnant I never showed back up to the Dr office again. I weined myself ...

I ran out of my oxycodone pills and I took some suboxone for about a week and a half so that I would not get withdrawl symptoms. About a week later I started back on oxy but it was the new pills which I did not like so I went back to the Oxy 30's. Now that I am taking them, I feel nothing anymore. No Euphoria, no pain release, no high, nothing. Could you tell my why this is happening? I know I have built up a toloarance because I am able to take 5-6 pills at one time and I still feel nothing. Any advice on how to get back to the day one feeling? Total relaxation and euphoria and most important PAIN FREE!!!! ## Suboxone contains a combination of the narcotic Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the naloxone is used to neutralize other narcotics and prevent their abuse, while someone is under ...

On the web I found a replacement drug for Oxycodone, but now I can not find it. Can anyone help me find this so I can get off the Oxycodone? ## Are you possibly referring to Suboxone? It contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, it is used to help treat addiction and enable people to eventually become drug free. The Buprenorphine is a narcotic, so it may cause the same side effects that others do, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. The Naloxone is an opiate agonist, to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while under Suboxone treatment. This medication does require a doctors approval and prescription, for treatment, because it must be used properly. Learn more:

Does percent 30 a 51 have naloxone in them ## Hello, Lydia! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing only 30mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have tried the ir's but the last time they were the a 51s and I noticed they didn't work as well for me

been 8hours since taking oxycodone can I now take my bups? ## Subutex does not contain the Naloxone that neutralizes other narcotics, it only contains the narcotic Buprenorphine, so it doesn't require the withdrawal period that Suboxone does. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I AM ON 24MG OF SUBUTEX FOR MONTHS NOW AND 3 10MG OF OXYCODONE FOR CHRONIC PAIN. RECENTLY MY DOCTOR RETIRED AND BEFORE HE LEFT HE TOOK ME OFF OF ALL OXYCODONE. I STILL HAVE PAIN THAT THE SUBUTEX DOSEN'T TOUCH. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I AM 64 YEARS OLD AND CAN'T FINANCIALLY QUIT MY JOB BUT I MISS WORK ALOT. MY JOB IS VERY HARD WORK ## Hello, Fran! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, not the opiate blocker Naloxone that is in Suboxone, so you can take other opiates, after taking it, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you spoken to your new doctor about your pain? They may n...

I took my last Oxycodone on Saturday. I've been taking 30 mg for 5 years. How long would withdrawals last if I take tiny pieces of 8 mg Suboxone? How long will I need to do this so that I don't get sick? Thanks ## I have a great deal of experience with induction phase of subs. If you are on Subutex you can start as soon as you feel a little sick. But make sure you have gone at least 24 to 36 hours. Since there is no Naloxone in Subutex it is not like subuxone, Start with a small piece of sub try that and see if you get relief. If you are ok take a little more until you feel straight. Subutex is alot easier to get on then subuxone so make sure you are really sick or you will go through Precipitative Withdrawal Or Hell as I like to call it. Remember, less is more and the oxys will...

I was on oxycodone and morphine for 11 years. I am now on suboxone 12mg a day for three months now. I don't want to continue to be on them because the oxy's and morphs helped pain more. not to mention the side effefts of the suboxone sucks. I want to know if I will get sick if I simply stop subs and start back on 4 30 mg of oxycodone and 2 30 mg morphs?! HELP ME PLEASE ## Hello, Leigh! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Suboxone actually contains the narcotic Buprenorphine coupled with Naloxone, which is used to neutralize other opiates, to prevent their abuse, while someone is being treated with it. Thus, if you took the others, while still under the effects of it, it will negate them and you'd just be wasting medications. This is a narcotic analgesic,...

U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth...

Do the new blue A 51 roxicodone pills contain naloxone in them? ## @will, Round blue "A 51" tabs by Amneal Pharmaceuticals are actually a generic form of Oxycodone hydrochloride 30 mg, NOT brand name Roxicodone. However to answer your question, they DO NOT contain Naloxone (the only active ingredient in these is Oxycodone). I think you must've mistaken these for Suboxone? Hope this helps! ## I get blue ones that have a fancy "V" on it. Works for me :) ## Hey man - No they dont. Question though, I just got these for the first time and am a little weary of them. My mother-in-law didn't tell her dr that she was on Suboxone and was given Targin (which is oxycodone 5mg + naloxone 2.5mg hydrochloride). She is on 2mgs of Suboxone. Will she get sick or withdrawal? Or will it actually help with pain relief? ## Wow! No, she needs to inform her doctor, as soon as possible, that could result in a possibly dangerous overdose, since the Buprenorphine in Suboxone and the Oxycodone in Targin are both opiate narcotics, plus they both contain Naloxone, so she is also doubling up on that. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and my cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. As to the withdrawal, that is doubtful, since the Suboxone will just prevent the Oxycodone in the Targin...

Can I use targinact while on methadone? Will it throw me into withdrawal? I usually take oxycodone for spinal pain (cancer), but targinact has naloxone in it and oxycodone, so can I use targinact? ## Yes, if you are not in full withdrawal when you take it, it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to NIH reports, which may include life threatening seizures. It would be best to wait until you are in full withdrawal, before making the switch. Are you on any other medications?

If I cut asuboxonestrip and used only bout a 2cm thick piece, will it have effect since im now able to take my normaloxycodonepain meds or would they just be wasted? ## It still contains Naloxone, along with the Buprenorphine, so it would neutralize most of the Oxycodone. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am trying to cut back on my pain pills (oxycodone #10) that I take 4-5 times daily for my pain. If I take the suboxone later that day and am still hurting, can I take 1 of my oxycodone's and will it work with my pain or will it block it and I would be just wanting it? Please help me if anyone knows the answer. ## The Naloxone in the Suboxone will block it from working. The Suboxone takes a very strong hold on the opiate receptors in your brain and tends to kick out other opiates, which could also result in dangerous precipitated withdrawals.
