I took nitrofur macr 100 mg for 6 days of the 7 day prescription. I was having serious side effects, such as difficulty breathing, chills, intense nausea, and a skin rash. Within 24 hours of stopping the medication all of the side effects disappeared, except the skin rash. I have been off the medication for 3 days now and the rash is still present. Should I call a doctor or will it go away eventually on its own? ## Sorry that happened, Amber! You should call your doctor to be sure and maybe get something to lessen the duration of the rash, but if that's all you have left, it's doubtful that it's anything dangerous, unless you see signs of the skin breaking and tearing, ulcerating, bleeding, turning black or other unusual symptoms. However, those are signs of an allergy to th...

prescribed by Dr ## what are the side effects of this med and how does it affect birth control ## Ive taken this medication for UTI. This medication caused me alot of health pulmonary complications such as bronchitis, shortness of breathe, coughing, wheezing and fever. ## @deldre, Based on my research, the antibiotic Nitrofurantoin is used to treat various types of infections. BID means it is supposed to be taken twice daily. According to healthtap.com you should use a back-up method of birth control (ie. condom)while taking Nitrofurantoin. Even though there is little evidence supporting a massive increase in pregnancies with antibiotic use, it is better to be safe than sorry. Use the back-up method during the run of your antibiotic and continue for one week Common side effects may incl...

I, 71 years old, suffered sudden angina pectoris, having a little high blood pressure. My Dr. carried out an ECG which revealed normal ECG. Prescribed nitrocortin 2.6 twice with amlopres trio once. After 10 days blood pressure came down to a normal 130/80 which raised to 160/80 during angina. Would I require nitrocortin 2.6 further? If so, for how long? May you kindly advise? ## To my understanding, Nitrocortin is safe.

A friend said that it is something new.red liquid drops you put on your tongue when having a heart attack, instead of the tablets.they also have a longer expiration date than the tablets ## The drops are probably a new form of the more traditional treatment. Here is some additional info about how nitroglycerin work in the event of a heart attack. Nitroglycerin is a chemical that opens up (dilates) arteries and veins and increases blood flow to the heart. During heart attack, Nitroglycerin can be placed under the tongue, where it quickly dissolves and is absorbed into the bloodstream. Nitroglycerin also can be administered via continuous intravenous (IV) infusion; applied to the skin in cream or patch form, where it is slowly absorbed; or administered as short- or long-acting nitrate pill...

It may, however, cause some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more:

Finishing up on taking nitrofurantoin. How soon can I start taking monistat 7. Now I have a yeast infection. Actually had during the time I am on nitrofurantoin. ## Hi, Lady Lex! Sorry about the yeast infection, they are very annoying! And you could have started using the Monistat, while still on the antibiotic from what I can find. You should always check such information with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain, but I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the two. Learn more Miconazole details here. Many times, when women are prone to getting yeast infections from antibiotics, doctors will prescribe Diflucan (Fluconazole) as a preventative, so they don't have to deal with two different kinds of infections, at the same time.
