i did not realize there was a 3 mg. xanax, does anyone have a pic? ## Sorry, providing a pic would be almost impossible since this is available in generic form. It is made by many, many manufacturers now and all of their pills will look however they want them too and have different imprints, so we could not possibly put a picture on here of any of them. There is a 3mg though only available in the controlled release.

Both the XR and SR are just different abbreviations that stand for the same thing, they denote it as a controlled release medication. Some other abbreviations used for the same thing are ER and CR. Do you still get same amount of alprazolam?Which one is best for anxiety or panic attacks? ## They are both effective, the only difference is that the XR is a time released tablet, so the medication is released slowly into the body for a certain period of time and with the regular release, it is all released into your body at once. Has one of these been prescribed for you? ## Yes I was prescribed the alprazolam 2mg xr.I'd rather have the 2mg without any time release.

I am on 2mgs 5x a day would the xr be better cuz been on this dose cpl years n I still have severe anxiety n panic attacks. Would they lower the dose? ## The XR is a time released formulation and there is a 3mg dosage of it available. Generally, when switching a patient from the regular release to the XR, it is recommended that they be started with the same dosage they are currently taking, but that it be taken once daily. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor, yet? ## An entebded release tablet might me a good option, but as far as dosage adjustments that's completely up to your doctor.

Ok so a previous conversation I had with alprazolam user was with the newly approved Auribindo alprazolam ERs here in the US. They only make extended release here on US and they make instant release as well but do not believe they are approved in the US just the extended release ER/XR..and aurobindos is as follows: .5mg er- x 72 1mg er- x 73 2mg er- x 74 3mg er- x 75 I have not yet tried any of the auribindo alprazolam products. I know they are made from India and just my preference I enjoy USA made medicine. My doctor keeps telling me that there is no such thing as Xanax xr, but I have been on them before, so I'm confused!?! He also said that there was no such thing as Ambien xr, again have been on it before. Hi. Im on suboxone and xanax xr and prozac 40-60 mg day. Subone was great first two wks, now i have a ton of anxiety and major body jerks. I would like to start getting off Xanax xr gradually, how do I go about it......... ## Alprazolam is difficult to wean off, and FDA was considering withdraling it -- just like Methaqualone in the 1970s - then the parent company met with FDA behind closed doors -- You could try a long acting benzodiazepine like clonazepam - will prevent the withdrawl symptoms, but will not give you the kick that so many Xanax users like though. ## I have taken Xanax for years!
