Mirtazapine and skin burning sensations

I have been on Mirtazapine for about 4 months. Had the burning and tingling and sore arms early on, and now they have returned. Causes anxiety, creates more sensations. Recently started cpap therapy and I was feeling so good! Now this, ugh. ## Where are you experiencing the burning, and tingling? Is it just in your arms? Is it just a surface skin issue? Are you on any other medications? Have you ever had shingles? Mirtazapine has been known to cause skin rashes, hives, and herpes virus outbreaks as side effects. Dangers of mirtazapine

It seems to me that Mirtazapine is a potentially dangerous drug with little information known about it. My veterinarian prescribed this drug in small quantities for my cat as an appetite stimulant, so I began reading articles on the drug and its effects. Although it is supposed to be used as an antidepressant for humans, it has a wide reputation for causing suicidal tendencies in children and young adults. It causes weight gain (the side effect my vet was looking for in my cat's case). It also can cause feelings of depression, and wooziness. I spoke with a nurse who took it and she said the effects of sluggishness and dizziness lasted 2 to 3 days. It can also cause nausea and headaches. It seems to me that these side effects are anything but what a person who is already depressed sh...

coming off mirtazapine 15mg

I started on 15mg mirtazapine 7 weeks ago and titrated up after 4 weeks to 30mg for 1 week; then back down to 15mg for the last week. I want off this awful medication. I feel completely spaced out all the time but am aware withdrawal is horrendous. I have been really agitated the past 48 hrs so I want to limit withdrawal symptoms as much as possible. I was going through a bad divorce, serious debts and being staked for 9 months by my ex husband of 26 years. I have had extensive counselling and am mentally in a much better place so I want to come off this poison ASAP safely. Thank you for your reply. ## Hello, Beth! How are you? Overall, divorces always suck, even if we have to do them for own good, I dealt with one back in 2009 and my new husband had to deal with one back in 2015, so I ...

Rameron combined with other anti-depressants and anxiety

I was just prescribed Rameron 30mg to take at bedtime to help with me sleep. I am also taking Adderall 30mg, Ativan 0.5mg and Celexa 20mg on a daily basis. I know Rameron has a side effect of weight gain. Has anyone heard of or experienced any worse side effects with the meds combined? Also I know it takes a while for the body to get used to a drug. If I start experiencing worse symptoms how long should I take the drug before consulting with my Dr? ## Hi, Emily! How are you doing? The most dangerous thing that can occur with this combination would be Serotonin syndrome, which can be very dangerous. Thus, if you start experiencing symptoms such as increased heart rate, shivering, sweating, tremors or twitching, then you need to seek medical attention immediately. Learn more Remeron detai...

I take 1/4 pill twice daily and one before bed and one when i wake up in middle of the night. I missed a dose and realized i could feel my emotions which felt good so i decided to try to slowly withdrawl. I cut the pill in quarters and was going to take 1/4 less each week. Tomorrow will be the first full week taking the 1/4 pill less and i feel like crap. I'm 62 yrs old bty. This med. numbs my emotions, but I am going to go back to the 30mg. because i can't take these withdrawl symptoms. Can't believe they are this bad from cutting out 1/4 pill. Mirtazapine and 3 weeks in

ive been on mirtazapine after suffering from anxiety and insomnia for 18 months. Tried SSRI's (2 types, but they made me more anxious). Ive managed to stay on this so far, they have got rid of the anxiety and insomnia on day 1, which is great!. I have been experiencing other side affects though such as depression and numbness in my face. The appetite hasn't increased as yet (phew), but i have hope for this drug as the sedation seems to be wearing off. If the depression doesnt lift after 6 weeks then i will be coming off them. I have done counselling and cbt. I have been reading self help books for 18th months, but I have not managed to shift the anxiety and insomnia unless im off work or on this drug. I have also started yoga and meditation. I eat well and excercise regularly. s...

small pink round pill with 30 printed to one side, the other side has a deep split line. all infomation on this would be greatly appreciated as i cannot find elsewhere ## Hi Girly, The closest match I've been able to locate is Mirtazapine (30 mg). It is a round light beige pill (that could be mistaken as light pink) with the imprint M 530 on one side and a deep score line on the other. Mirtazapine (Remeron, Avanza, Zispin) is a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA) which was introduced by Organon International in the United States in 1990 and is used primarily in the treatment of depression. It is also commonly used as an anxiolytic, hypnotic, antiemetic, and appetite stimulant. Structurally, mirtazapine can also be classified as a tetracyclic antidepressant...

Mirtazapine causing anxiety/agitation?

I have been taking 15mg of Mirtazapine for three weeks. This was prescribed after suffering from insomnia and anxiety, with moderate to severe depression, for three months following complete withdrawal from the SSRI Citalopram (which I did very gradually, over three before this months as I thought I was stable enough to stand on my own two feet). My sleep improved immediately and I started to have some better days over the first two weeks. I know recovery should take time, and that the Mirtazapine takes at least 4 weeks to show its beneficial effects. On that basis, by the end of the second week I was feeling in a pretty good frame of mind and quite optimistic that I had finally turned a corner out of my anxiety. This third week has been a real disappointment though. My anxiety has got ...
