Jardiance and stomach aches

Hi. After being intolerant to metformin I started jardiance two weeks ago. I have lactose intolerance so no dairy. I am waking in the night with severe stomach ache and bloating in my mid stomach pancreas area. Has anyone else had this? Does it go away? I'm also on Lansoprazole and Telmisartan. ## Jardiance has been known to cause some gastrointestinal issues as side effects, including stomach pain, but you should have this checked out by your doctor to be sure. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, hypotension, and increased urination. Are you on any other medications?

Wanting to take Jardiance but am not a diabetic

Hi, I am on heart medication because I have Cardiomyopathy. I wanted to start Jardiance because I need to lose weight so my doctor put me on Diabex first then intends to put me on Jardiance. My sugar is always high. Is it safe for me to take so many medications? ## If your sugar level is always high, then it is highly likely that you are actually diabetic, that is one of the most obvious symptoms of diabetes, according to the NIH. Other symptoms are listed as possibly including headache, weight gain, frequently feeling hungry, and frequent urination. Do you experience any of these, symptoms? ## Hi yes I have all those symptoms Verwon I am always Up every night peeing. My doctor told me I'm pre Diabetic so I guess that's why she put me on Diabex. Long term use of Jardiance

Well, I have been on Jardiance for 4 months now. I have lost 42 pounds. I have reduced meds. But I have to say, I am peeing every hour, and am fairly incontinent. I also have a funny ashy taste in my mouth. Is there anybody else out there on this stuff? ## Hello, Rebecca! How are you? I'm sorry about the side effects that you're experiencing. As listed by the FDA, Jardiance is used to treat type 2 diabetes and help boost weight loss. The increased urination is normal, that's how the medication eliminated the excess sugars from the body, other side effects may include nausea, hypotension, UTIs and hypoglycemia. What dosage are you on? You may need an adjustment, if it's pushing you to the point where you are experiencing incontinence. ## I go back to the doctor next week....

Galvus Met vs Melmet vs Jardiance

Which one is better for managing blood sugar levels, Galvus Met or Melmet? In addition to these medications, how effective is Jardiance in controlling sugar levels & does it have any side effect on ladies using this medicine? ## Galvus Met contains the active ingredients Vidagliptin, and Metformin, Melmet contains the active ingredient Metformin, and Jardiance contains Empagliflozin, so though they all treat the same condition, Diabetes, they are different. The best one to use depends on what your doctor recommends, and what works best for you. These medications aren't gender specific, so the possible side effects remain the same for everyone, and may include nausea, dizziness, headache, low blood sugar, and stomach irritation. What has your doctor advised you to take?

Can I take Jardiance at night

I just started Jardiance today in the morning together with my insulin and metformin xr x 1000. I have been feeling nausea all day, not been able to do much. Can I take this tablet in the evening so I can sleep away the nausea. I didnt have to run to the toilet alot but it may change as I continue/ ## Hi Im curious about taking at night as well,, how is it working out for you.? ## Hello Karen, According to the manufacturer's directions Jardiance is to be taken first thing in the morning with or without food. My research has found that this is primarily due to the way that our bodies handle insulin after a long resting periods without eating. When my wife was diagnosed with gestational diabetes she was instructed to eat foods at very particular intervals and take her medication withi...

Jardiance and yeast infections

I was taking Jardiance 10 mg at night before bed, it did keep my sugar down. Now I take metformin in the morning and radiance 25 mg before bed. I haven't had a yeast infection in years, and wondered if anyone else is experiencing this kind of reaction? ## Hello, Christy! How are you? What have your blood sugar levels been? Women with diabetes often experience yeast infections, when their sugars are out of control, as reported by the NIH. Thus, it may be more due to having it under better control. Can any other women who are diabetic chime in? ## I've been taking 25mg X11 wk. Yesterday I noticed itching. Sugars around 130 in am, decreasing to 90-100 during the day. Going to try probiotics. I came off actos due to 20lb weight gain. I also take metformin 500 twice a day. I'm lo...

Jardiance and weight loss

I just recently started on Jardiance to assist in stabilizing blood sugar. I have Type 2 diabetes and struggle in keeping my A1C within normal range. This drug was added to help reduce sugar and possible weight loss. I am wondering what type of weight loss people are experiencing and what side effects if any. I am only on this med 5 days so far but urinating frequently, does it slow down after some time? That's what my doc said. Thanks. ## Hi Sue, I have not tried the medication known as Jardiance (empagliflozin) for stabilizing blood sugar levels, but did want to share a brief general list of side effects I came across, courtesy of the FDA [1]: - Hypotension (low blood pressure) - Impaired Renal Function - Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) - Genital Mycotic Infections - Urinary Tract ...

Inflamed bladder

I had successfully taken Jardiance for four years and then developed an inflamed bladder from it. I have been off the drug nearly 10 days now and the symptoms have mostly gone away but not completely. My doctor does believe they will go away and I will not take that drug again. I had no UTI, no yeast infection and no other kind of infection. Unfortunately the next step is probably insulin. However, the bladder issue was so terribly uncomfortable I’m just glad it’s over. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I am so sorry that you went through such misery. The FDA does warn that it can cause bladder issues, such as pain, increase urination, and very light colored urine, along with nausea, dizziness, hypoglycemia, and dehydration. Have you had any further improvement, yet? What other ...

Just started Jardiance

I have been on Jardiance for over two weeks now. I have experienced dizziness, nausea, headaches, and shakiness and some diarrhea. Are these common side effects? I called my doctor today and she wants me to continue for a few more weeks. Do these side effects subside? How long does it take? I take no other medication for diabetes. I had been taking Invokana but due to insurance I had to switch. My last A1C was 5.7. Can anyone help with side effects? Should I take at night rather than morning? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. ## Yes, those can be normal side effects of this medication, you may also experience stomach pain, and flatulence, according to FDA reports. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## No I am not on any other diabetic meds. How ...

Breathless on Jardiance

I am unable to take Metformin as it causes severe side effects and pulmonary oedema. I tried Liraglutide (Victoza) injections which gave my tachycardia. As I have heart failure I was then prescribed Jardiance 10mg 3 months ago which seemed to be ok but I'm not on the loo every hour and have not lost weight (gained 5kg actually). It was increased to 25mg 2 weeks ago and I have been increasingly breathless on mild exertion (speaking and bending forward). Feel like I'm full term pregnant. Surely I can't have side-effects to this too? My blood sugars are fine. ## What are your blood pressure readings? The symptoms you've described can also be due to congestive heart failure, according to NIH warnings. Those are typical symptoms of it. Do you ever wake up at night unable to b...
