Risperlet And Epilizine
UpdatedMy brother who is 50 went to a psychiatrist who prescribed to him risperlet and epilizine; he is diagonised for ADHD; the side effects are strong, he lost his appetite and he is tired at all time. He reduced the dose the went to another doctor who decided to stop them as they're the wrong medications. Now four days after stopping them, he is sleeping all the time. Is it normal? And how long will take to get them out of his system since he was on those medications for three and a half months?

Hello, Simone! How is your brother doing?
Yes, those medications aren't generally used to treat great ADHD.
And yes, again, withdrawal effects are normal and it may take a few weeks for him to stop sleeping so much and feeling somnolent. As listed by the FDA, he may also experience rebound depression, rebound anxiety and diarrhea.
What medication did the new doctor prescribe?
