I have been using nexito 5mg for a long time (8 months). Each time I try to discard it I am getting severe side effects. I don't get sleep at night. I am having horrible dreams. I am unable to get out of this dosage. I am not feeling any depression symptoms but bad sleeping patterns. How can I get off of this nexito 5?

Nexito contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, this is an SSRI antidepressant.

And experiencing some withdrawal effects is normal if you try to suddenly stop taking these medications.

After a few days of not taking it, you may even start to experience a rebound effect, which would be worsening of the depression symptoms that you were taking it for.

Normally these medications must be slowly tapered to prevent the worse of these problems.

Have you spoken to your doctor about getting off of the medication?

I had been taking Prodep 10 and Spectra 10 (one cap each ) for last five years. But all these drugs have been stopped since about two months as my uric acid, triglyceride and cholesterol has become high. I'm only taking Alprazolam 0.5 one tab per day along with Tonact TG. But I'm not having proper sleep. I also have high blood pressure (140/90) for which I take Betacap TR 40. Pl advise what can I do for my sleeplessness which, I think, is mainly anxiety related.

I too was asked to take Nexito 5mg by my Doctor for Neurology. From the beginning I felt all wrong symptoms when taking Nexito. I was taking this drug along with two other drugs for Mild Parkinson disease. Without consulting the Doctor I stopped taking Nexito since past 10 days. No serious incident took place by taking this drug. On the contrary I was feeling better and getting good sleep
