Hair Follicle Drug Test And Oxycodone (Page 15)

I am prescribed oxycodone 10mg taken 4 times daily. I take them as directed. I recently took a 5 panel hair follicle test and it came back negative on everything. Does anyone know a reason that this would not show up on a hair test? I did not have my hair colored or bleached in over two years and I did not take anything to try to alter the results. Thanks!

Six hydrocodone are not much spread out over 3 months but the problem is most hair test will test down to 200 pg/mg which is a relatively low cutoff level. This on is hard to call. My best guess is that you have a 60 chance of passing a hair test. If they are not testing for the extended opiates then you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks to the few who come back and post their results.

Took 5 mg oxy 1 week ago and have hair test on Friday. From what I'm reading I should pass with no problem but I just wish there were more confirmation follow up posts about people passing. Will follow up next week.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I only have 18 years in the hair drug testing field. One time use won't show up.

Is there any good products to help cleaning up hydrocodone before hair test. I read several for marijuana but haven't found much for opiates. Needing something that would help.

I don't know of many things that will "clean" any drug out of hair. For the most part those products work on the outside of the hair and the drug is in the cortex (center) of the hair. That's why hair testing is getting more popular every day.

Well just had my test done. Exactly 7 days since I took one 5mg Oxy.

The one thing I am nervous about is they took a hell of a lot of hair - much more than I thought they would - 3 fairly large pencil sized clumps. I'm picturing that they could find anything they wanted to with multiple tests with such a large sample.

I know that this may not show up due to the small amount, and the cut was done slightly above the scalp, so I'm hopeful that as an extra precaution it wasn't above the scalp yet.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I know you suggested that I not lose any sleep over it, but that is exactly what I am doing. Was up all night and probably have at least 4 more to go.

How confident are you that one oxy 1week ago won't show up.

They took my chest hair on March 1st and my chest hair is about one inch in length but grows extremely fast...I probably buzzed it around the same time I took 8-10....10mg Oxys....will it show? How far does the body hair go back?

I am in a court case regarding guardianship of a baby. We ordered the parties to have hair follicles. One part came back testing positive for Oxycodone along with Hydrocodone. They had no prescription for oxy but did have a prescription for hydrocodone. When questioned, they explained that they took one pill 2 months earlier. The cutoff level was at 100 and it was 180. Is that possible? Everything I have been taught is that 1 time usage will not show up in a hair follicle. If it’s not possible, who could I hire to provide a professional opinion stating such?

One time use won't show up on a hair drug test. The lab I partner with has a cutoff level for opiates of 200 pg/mg so if you did a hair drug test thru my company that 180 would mean the person was negative. Depending on how you feel about the person that was positive you could always give them the benefit of the doubt. As far as expert testimony goes you can find a Medical Review Officer (MRO) at aamro.com. I have no connection to aamro.com. A MRO is a doctor who goes thru years of training to interpret drug test results and give an opinion.

Major abdominal surgery in April, 7.5 oxycodone use 3-4 times a day until august 8th to get through a rough summer at a physically demanding job. Looking to test for a new job November 1st. What are the chances I will pass a hair test? Or should I wait until January?

If you can wait until January, and not take any oxycodone in the mean time, you would be better off. Usually an employer will only test a 1.5 inch segment (90 day history) so by January you should be test negative. You can always do your own Anonymous Extended Opiate test to see where you are at.

This is fairly late to the very informative party you held last year, but if I have a hair test coming up that states “Hair 501 5 class COPAT” (which I assume is an acronym for the 5 big drugs typically tested), does that seem to you that an extended opiate test is not being requested??

If the testing will be done by Psychemedics it will include the following opiates: heroin, codeine, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone and hydromorphone. If the testing will be done by Omega Labs the 5 panel will only include heroin, codeine and morphine. My best guess is that the test you are going to take will include the extended opiates. You could do you own Anonymous Hair 5 with Extended Opiates to see where you are at.

It's hard to say who is actually going to run the test. I doubt eScreen does their own hair testing. There are only a handful of hair testing labs in the US.
