I feel i am going mad! The only way I can explain how I feel is to say that it feels like vertigo - when you go over a very high bridge or look down from a very tall building. This wave comes from nowhere causing a momentary blackness, my arms go numb from my elbows to my hands and my feet do the same, I then get this awful feeling of butterflies in my chest and stomach. After a while it passes but it certainly doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast. How long will this go on? I am on Homeopathic treatment at moment.

It really varies, depending on how much you were taking and for how long. The average is usually about a week.

Yip, I know exactly what you're going through. The last time I went off it, it lasted for about two weeks. I'm now on day 5 again.

My husband is on Cilift and I've noticed quite a change in his moods. Can this be due to the medication?

I have been taking Cilift as an anti depressant for more than a year. I have cancer. Cilift works for me & I have had no side effects. However I have been taking it in the am, and today the GP tells me it also causes sleepiness!

I am on day 8 of weening of cilifit I have been on meds for 10 years. I chose to go to an alternative doc. to help with the process. Day 7 and 8 are the only days I have had none. I went to 10 mg for the first 6 days. Im taking 5 htp and Vitamin B12 and it really seems to be helping, I tried to go cold turkey before and just could'nt handle the withdrawl I call it mis firing spark plugs in my head. so I highly reccommend seeing an alternative doc. to help the process be a little easier... good luck :)

I have notifced when I dont drink the pill for 2 or 3 days that my bloodpressure drops tremendously - which is why I experience the dizziness, feel like I want to black out and the vertigo-type withdrawel. My doc gave me low-bloodpressure meds for this but it doesnt really work...

Using cilift for about three months and sometimes i skip a day, i know the not so cool feelings you people are talking about, thats why im here, however, its getting a bit worse, i recently survived an oleander poison suicide attempt and 2days after i was reminded that nothing in my life has changed. i freak out every now and then but im a very peaceful, gentle, nice loving caring person inside, but i react harshly to potential triggers to depression, anger, etc.

I STARTED GOING OF CILIFT. FROM NORMALY TAKING 1 TAB I AM NOW ON HALF A TAB AND THE SECOND DAY, CAN ALREADY FEEL THAT FUNNY HEAD. I AM GOING OF CILIFT BECAUSE I HAVE PUT ON 11KG IN 7 MONTHS, NOT ON... HAVE STARTED TAKING IT BACAUSE OF ANZIHITY. PLANING ON STARTING FOR A FAMILY LATER THIS YEAR, I WANT TO GO ON TO 5 HTP. BUT HAVE READ THAT THERE IS NO REPORTS IF IT IS SAFE TO BE ON 5 HTP WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT. IS THERE ANYBODY THAT HAVE BEEN ON IT WIHEN THEY HAVE BEEN PREGNANT. ALSO THERE IS SO MANY MEDS YOU CANT TAKE WHEN YOU ARE ON 5 HTP. IS THERE ANYTHING ELS THAT I CAN GO ON THAT IS SAFE AND NOT MAKE YOU PUT ON ALL THE KGS. LIEZEL

Hi

Can anyone advise me on how I should wean myself off Cilift. I was on a pill a day, then cut it down to half a day and now I am taking half every 2nd day. Is this the correct procedure and how long should I do this for.

My doc told me that when I want to stop taking it(was on a 1 a day regimen), I should start taking 1 every 2 days for a week, then 1 every 3 days for a week and 1 every 4 days..etc till it's 1 per week, then I probably can stop without any withdrawal symptoms

I was on Cilift about 4 months ago for a period of 3 months only. The initial stages of Cilift werent that much fun - makes you anxious, bruxism etc - but after a week or two, its great. It really helped me alot.

After about 3 months of use, i started forgetting about it - Id drink one here, and then a week later etc. I was lucky not to have the side effects Im reading about.

My only conclusion would be that it does depend on how much you took and the time you took it for.

Hi all, i first started on cipralex during my pregnancy for about a year, then went onto cilift 20mg and have been on this tab for 2 months now. some mornings i forget to take the tab and get extremely dizzy during the day. I have now decided that i will be weaning myself off the tabs, however i prefer myself when im on the tabs... if i find there's a change in myself once i have weaned myself off, i will then resort to 5HTP which has been recommended by many of you and by a close friend.

Yes, very important not to just stop immediately, some of the posts got excellent advice on weaning.
Good luck. Why do you want to stop?
