I have been taking zopiclone for insomia for two years and now it is not doing anything for me. I have started to stay awake all night and fall asleep around 7 am and sleep all day. I have just heard that it is possible to have a rebound effect if you take if for a long period of time. So now I have to get off it and I do not know what to take to change my sleeping pattern. Any suggestions. ## A rebound effect occurs from stopping a medication abruptly, what you are most likely dealing with is tolerance. This can happen if just due to the fact that you're taking the same medication, in the same dosage for a long period of time and your body has gotten used to it. You should consult your doctor, as you may need to switch to a different dosage, or a different medication. Is there anyt...

taken 3.5 mg of zopiclone at night...how long would this drug stay in the body...IE,24 hours, what is the build -up if taken evey night..no other drugs involved or booze, age 80 use to-date 4 nights... ## The half-life of Zopiclone is roughly 6 hours and the time it takes for it fully process out of the body is usually 5 to 6 half-lives, so 30 to 36 hours, after last taking it. However, individual factors are always going to have an effect, such as your metabolism, overall health and etc. so this time frame isn't precise. Are there any other questions or comments? ## How long does Valium take to be metabolized by the body?

My son took a single Zopiclone last night and has been hallucenating all day. Is this normal? ## Hi Barbara, Based on my research, Hallucinations are one of the less common side effects associated with Zopiclone. Other less common side effects include but are not limited to: aggression, tremor, rebound insomnia, depression, nightmares, and hypomania. Have you spoken with his doctor about this? I hope this info helps, please post back if you have any more questions! ## I know this may be a old post but i took these when i was 15 or 16.. i think it was 16 and I had it bad just like your son. Can anyone verify this?

Still no sleeping aid out there like Starnoc. I either can't get to sleep till 2 am or wake up at 2 am and can't get back to sleep. Starnoc was wonderful for both these issues. Also, I don't enjoy the feeling of the medication 'taking over' my sleep, i.e. instantly tired, whereas Starnoc gently lulled me to sleep. Does anyone have any suggestions from the Canadian Market that is similar? Thanks ## Have you tried Zopiclone? It's available in Canada and is usually the preferred alternative, since Starnoc has been discontinued. ## Thanks for the info. With Starnoc, however, if you still had a good 4 hours of sleep to go, you could still take it and no hangover! Is Zoplicone the same idea, do you know? ## you can still get Starnoc in Canada through compounding pharma...

Has anyone come accross these before? i cant find any info on pink zopiclones? i want to know if they are safe or if i have been ripped off.... ## I've seen some listed as being pink, but without any identifying markings, there's really now ay to confirm that they are actually Zopiclone. I have been taking Zoplicone 7.5 mg for about two months and I wan to stop taking it and substitute Melatonin (I am 72 years old). I am concerned about withdrawal symptoms and worried about just stopping suddenly. How should I go about getting off of Zoplicone? Many thanks ## Two months isn't a really long time, so it's going to depend on your and how quickly your body becomes dependent on something. Are they time released or regular? Since this isn't available in the U.S. I am not sure what formulations are available. If they aren't time released and are in tablet form, then you may be able to just cut the tablets to gradually lower your dosage. Learn more Zopiclone details here. Have you considered getting medical assistance? ## Thank you. I since spoke to my druggist ...

I have been suffering from acute sleep deprivation and found it very difficult to get expert advice or understanding. It seems that people associate the term 'sleep deprivation' with tiredness - or something like 'jet lag' - rather than the mordantly frightening experience I have gone through. At times I thought my brain, as an 'organ', physiologically speaking, was going to break. At one time I could not, I mean literally could not, ascend the stairs. I had to prop the toilet door open because of the noise it made when opened. I ended up shouting at my son, who I love dearly and am usually tender and negotiative with, simply because he wouldn't stop talking/advising about a particular issue. He has, I think, no understanding as to the real reason I shouted, ...

We live in Mexico for the winter. I have osteoarthritis in my hip and leg and have just started taking rumoquin NF - it is amazing. But I have trouble sleeping sometimes - can I take a rumoquin pill and also 1/2 zopiclone before bedtime? ## Rumoquin contains Methocarbamol (a msucle relaxant), Dexamethasone (a corticosteroid) and Phenylbutazone (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory). Zopiclone is a hypnotic used to treat insomnia. That said, I do not see anything that lists they are contraindicated, however, my inormation is all from the US and this site is not medical professionals. I suggest asking your doctor or pharmacist to be safe. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Happy New Year. I appreciate your reply and your input into taking these two meds together. Thank you. ## Whe...

white pill round looks like big g on other side ## I am not 100% certain, because they aren't available in the U.S., but from what I've found by searching, others have identified this as being a 5mg Zopiclone tablet, it's a hypnotic that's most commonly used to help treat insomnia. Learn more Zopiclone details here. Can anyone else confirm this?

re imovan I have taken I, for 23 days until at month ago, ad am worried about at longterm effect, ## Are you referring to the sleeping tablets that contain Zopiclone? Have you discussed it with your doctor? If you were able to stop taking it and haven't taken it again for over a month, then you apparently avoided the addiction issue. However, since these are usually only given for short-term treatment of insomnia, there really isn't a lot of information available on using them for a long period of time.

What are the withdrawal side effects? ## It is hard to say, it depends on your dosage and how long you have been taking it. Some common withdrawal effects include: insomnia, nausea, sweating and headache. ## Hi, I am wondering about PMS-Zopiclone, would it cause a person to have multiple menstrual cycles per month, I just started this medication in August, and it is causing this problem, it seems, as i had other meds before that never did this. Could this medication cause this problem. Thanks. ## Many medications can affect your menstrual cycle, but there are other issues that could cause it, as well. I suggest speaking to your doctor, just in case. ## 5mg kept me asleep until 3 a.m. At 3a.m. I was mentally clear. When I took another 5mg. it kept me sleeping until 7.a.m. Withdrawal both...

drug namedmylan-zopiclone 7.5mg. given to me for sleep. Would like to know if addiction is likely from this drug. ## Yes, Zopiclone can also be addictive. It was originally thought that it wasn't, however, many people did end up having problems with it that resulted in addiction. You can read more about it here: This is primarily why it is usually prescribed on an as needed basis, rather than as something you should take regularly. How did your doctor tell you to use it?

sleeping pill ## Two years on half 7.5mg Zopiclone , gradually stopped over 3 weeks. Now withdrawal symptoms? insomnia, daytime sleepiness, constant headaches 3 weeks since stopped completely. What can I do to stop headaches and sleep properly? ## The only thing that will really help is to just wait it out, your body will eventually get used to not having the medication anymore and will return to normal. Have you talked to your doctor about this?
