I want to know the use of wikoryl in dry sore throat treatment

Yes Its useful for sinusitis. Also you cas use duonase nasal spray.

Hi I am 43 yr old Male . I have itchy throat, watering eyes, body ache and flowing nose also one nasal is blocked most time of the day. Can i use Wikoryl Tablet to cure this problem or should i take antibiotics . I also have high acidity.

I had used wickoryl during last 15 to 20 days on and off basis suddenly i developed urinary blockage and acute prostaties, and had to resort to catherisation to ease my self.

I am 59 years of age and have slight enlarged prostate now. The doctor has advise me to be on antibiotic and continue with catheder on for a week and then after retest he will remove the catheder.

Wikoryl contains the active ingredients: Paracetamol + Chlorpheniramine maleate + Phenylephrine hydrochloride. Some Wikoryl suspensions contain Caffeine as well.

Looking at each individual ingredient:

Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a widely used over-the-counter pain reliever and a fever reducer.

Chlorpheniramine relieves red, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; itchy nose or throat; and runny nose caused by allergies, hay fever, and the common cold. Chlorpheniramine helps control the symptoms of cold or allergies but will not treat the cause of the symptoms or speed recovery.

Phenylephrine is used to relieve nasal discomfort caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. It is also used to relieve sinus congestion and pressure. Phenylephrine will relieve symptoms but will not treat the cause of the symptoms or speed recovery.

Based on the above information, I would think this medication useful only if your dry throat is from allergies or due to a cold or fever. In any case, I would recommend simply having some local raw honey to soothe and clear your throat of any impurities. Local raw honey will also help with any allergies you may be experiencing. Staying hydrated throughout the day is just as important as well.
