I would like to know which drug is similar to tramadol but can be taken with lexapro?

Why Lexapro, which is VERY expensive? Escitalopram generic is also not exactly cheap, and it will take very little reading to ascertain that the simpler citalopram may be had far cheaper and in fact with a much higher tolerance and efficacy rate. Also the branded SSRIs offer no advantage over generics unlike some drug classes. But remember it is true SSRIs are effective in only 50% of patients and what is writtdn above is comprehensive and accurate (except in the USA where unlike Europe generics can contain less API than brand; this is absolutely illegal in almost all othrr countries, so the majority of US-made generic drugs would be prosecuted as fraudulent medical goods in the UK for example. You are fine dose-wise if you use European generics though, as they must legally contain precisely the same amount as patented originsl brands and not provide a ripoff money mill for manufacturers and pharmacies at the expense of health. As I read concerning US alprazolam, the largest country with the most expensive understrength medicines in the world seems not to care about quality and efficacy, & can bs seen as a first world country having what amounts to a third world healthcare system! Something I guess only Republican politicians with Big Pharma money in the hip pocket & Verwon could argue against! However there is no escape from that accuracy I referred to. Tramadol/tapentadol are combination mild opioid/SNRIs; in conjunction with SSRIs - even unnecessarily expensive ones with no advantage over the parent drug costing 20% of that cost, AS LONG AS YOU ARE SURE THAT THE CHOSEN TABLET HAS NOT BEEN DISGUSTINGLY REDUCED IN ACTIVE INGREDIENT CONTENT COMPARED WITH ORIGINAL BRAND, you may be better with the non-controlled morphine oral solution (not a CD as a dose contains less than a certain amount - brand ORAMORPH) than the weak opioids such s those combos, codeine, dihydrocodeine and dihydrocodeineone (aka hydrocodone) which are also much more likely to have side effects, constipation being bad, compared with low dosage Oramorph mixture.

As usual Verwon has been to the reference library.
It is true that really only the relatively new to market tapentadol HCl, branded Palexia, Tapal, and in USA Nucynta, is similar in that it is both a mild opioid and SNRI. Tramadol is the stronger drug mg for mg, but is not much more potent than the true opioid dihydrocodeine tartrate. Both of the atypical drugs with SNRI action are partial mu-antagonists. Onset of action and peak plasma levels are very long - I feel no analgesia at all for at least an hour to an hour and a half after ingestion, and class both as suitable only for mild pain, and that only in patients who, unlike me, can tolerate SSRI & SNRI drugs.
Personally for mild pain I would rather use dihydrocodeine and if any worse would head for the morphine sulphate. The strongest available immediate release morphine is Vermor 60mg by Verve, but again through personal experience, Sevredol 50mg tablets are subjectively stronger than Vermor-60, but a LOT more expensive than the Indian brand (Max Retail Price Rs.200 per blister of ten, ie GBP £2.00, around one fifth of the cost of the Napp/Mundipharma Sevredol.)
Tramadol and tapentadol are not suitable for the roughly 50% of population who are intolerant to SSRI/SNRI. drugs.

Unfortunately, from what I am finding, all of the centrally acting analgesics in that class can cause problems with Serotonin Syndrome, if they are taken with the Lexapro.

The same warnings come up for the other options, such as Tapentadol:

Has your doctor recommended anything?
