Vyvanse Regrets
UpdatedAbout five years ago, I started Vyvanse 30mg for depression. For the first couple of years, I felt wonderful. I seemed to have more energy, felt more social, and lost weight effortlessly. What wasn't to like? Then, the med became less effective and my dose was increased to 40mg. I struggled along for another year and a half, with some benefit. Then, the bottom fell out. I began to experience the very opposite of my initial effect. I'm tired all the time, irritable, argumentative, and have gained back all of the weight I had lost, PLUS some (despite no major change in my eating habits). I made excuses for why I should keep taking the med, hoping it would be good again. Now, I've had to admit that this is no longer the med for me, and I'm in the process of being tapered off.I can accept that tolerance is always possible with meds, but there's certainly no point in taking something that makes me feel WORSE.

Hello, Eileen! How are you doing?
Why were you taking it for depression? It's not approved for such a use, yet, though it is being investigated to see if it will help.
However, it is a stimulant that's normally used to treat conditions such as ADHD and narcolepsy, so feeling irritable, argumentative and etc. are the normal types of side effects that it can cause.
Learn more Vyvanse details here.
On the subject of those effects, have you consulted a gynecologist and had your hormone levels checked? Are your periods regular? Do you experience PMS and/or cramping?
It almost sounds like you may have some type of hormonal imbalance that's contributing, but only a doctor can let you know for sure.
