Is a Tylenol 4, white round pill with 2065 v and 4 on other side, equal to a Percocet 10? Was just prescribed this from emergency room. But I have not taken it before. My doctor has me taking 4 Percocet 10's a day for back pain. Now have 2 healspurs and tendinitis and sprained ankle and in so much pain! Help please?

Hello Marie! How are you?

Codeine is actually weaker, so each one of the Tylenol 4 you take is only equivalent to about 6mgs of Oxycodone.

The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics. They carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Most ERs will not prescribe the more potent medications, such as Oxycodone, anymore. To get something stronger to help with more pain, you'll need to see your regular doctor.

Is there anything else I can help with?
