I take Tri-Sprintec and I was wondering if missing the last 2 white pills in the package (for Friday and Saturday made any difference at all and if it's okay for me to just ignore those and begin my next package which starts Sunday? By not taking the last 2 white pills, will my period stop for the last 2 days of my cycle? ## The last week of pills in the Tri-Sprintec 28 day pack are inactive, and can be skipped, however, this will not alter the duration of your period, it should still last as long as it normally does, unless your doctor states otherwise. Ref: Tri-Sprintec Information The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood changes, and irregular vaginal bleeding.

Okay so basically I was about a week into my tri-sprintec pill when I had to get a new packet, but I couldnt get it for 6 days (long story), I started having fairly heavy bleeding about 3 days after missing pills, heavier than I usually have at the start of my period and have been bleeding 3 days now, I am unsure if I should take the new packet now or wait to let this "period" play out? Also (so sorry for the long post) before this happened I was going to be done with my regular period the week before leaving on a vacation now I will start the day before, which I desperately do not want! Is there anyway I can do this so my next period will be moved? Preferably to where it was suppose to be before? Or skip it without worrying about BTB? Today is 10/3 and is my 3rd day of bleeding...

I have been taking Tri-sprintec for a year now. For the past view months I have been getting anywhere from mild to severe headaches with neausia. They do effect my everyday life. They make me really sensitive to light and move ment. Does anyone else have this as a result of the pill? ## I have been experiencing the same side effects. I don't feel well at all. I couldn't figure out why I was feeling this way. I think it is because of this medication. ## That can be a typical side effect of oral contraceptives, including this one, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, irregular bleeding, weight changes, and mood changes. You might want to consult with your doctor about trying a different oral contraceptive, since this might not be the best one...

I started my first pack of tri-sprintec on 6/22, as per my doctor. Apparently it went against my natural cycle, as my period came as scheduled on 6/26 and lasted until 7/2 (a bit longer than normal). I have continued to take the pills as prescribed and understand that my body needs to adjust to the hormones, but should I expect another period to come when I start the white pills (on 7/13)? I know that ultimately, I will end up there since that is the point, as they are the inactives, I just want to be prepared. Thank you! ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? It is normal to experience irregular bleeding for the first 3 months, or so, while your body adjusts to the hormones. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes. And yes, you w...

We've started my daughter on sprintec 28 birth control pills 21 days ago to regulate her menstrual cycle. She started her period 13 days after she starrted taking the pill - this is the 11th day and she is still bleeding. Very heavy at times. I did not know she had to be on her period when she was to take her first pill. She was not. My question - should she stop taking them? Or what should we do?? ## i am taking sprintec how ever i forgot to take pills for 2 days so i also had intercourse on those 2 days what is the chances i could have conceve ## The chance is slight, but it is there. You run the risk of pregnancy anytime you miss a pill. You need to find some way to make sure you remember to take them in the future. ## You do not have to be on your period to start Sprintec. You c...

Last month I accidentally took two pills in one day and the next time I just took one like nothing happened. When it was time to take this month's pack I waited and skipped a day to get back on track with the days. I usually get my period Monday night or Tuesday morning but it hasn't came yet. Am I going to get a period? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Your hormone levels have likely been thrown off, a bit, by the doubling up and then skipping a day. It may take awhile for things to balance back out. Have you gotten your period, yet? You may skip, or it may come later. If you're very concerned, then you should speak to your doctor. I am currently taking Tri-Sprintec and my boyfriend is coming home on leave for a week. I am going to be on my period that week. I was wondering if I could just skip the white pills and just start a new pack and if that would make me skip a period? How safe or effective could that work? ## Yes, you can do this, it is something women have been doing for years. It is perfectly safe and allows to skip your period when needed, one of the advantages of being on birth control. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## hello there! the link didnt work but thank you for your help. but i have another question. even though the 3 weeks of active pills are different colors which means they contain a different amount of hormones.. would the whole skipping the sugar pills still work? and your pr...

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and a little dripped down so we thought I'd be ok, then the next week I wanted to skip my period for the month which would have occurred the next week. On the last day that I would have had my period I bled even though I was already a week into the new pack.. could this be a result of skipping my period for the first time on birth control or is it implantation bleeding and I'm pregnant? ## First time taking lo lestrogen, not first time On BC. I've taken BC for five years give or take. I got my period the first week of the pill and then again near the end of the second week. Yet I got no period in the last week for the brown pills. Not even spotting. I missed one pill but took it the next day. I have been sexually active. Can this mean ...

I started my new pack and only took three pills. Because I missed so many I just decided to stop it all together. Trying to get pregnant. Now I've been off for about two weeks. I'm ovulating this week. Now I am having cramps and very light spotting. Am I going to start my period early because I stopped taking it on day three? ## Hello, Heather! How are you doing? Has anything changed? Yes, that can occur, since this is a hormonal contraceptive, as classified by the FDA. The cramping can also be a withdrawal effect, you may also experience headache and other PMS-like symptoms. In a few weeks, however, things should return to normal, if not, then please consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Looks like I started my menstralcycle early. Hi I accidentally started my white pills one day early(saturday) and I just now noticed. What do I do? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? According to the FDA reports, you should just continue taking them, as normal. It will basically just bring on your period a day earlier than usual. The typical side effects of this medication may possible include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. If you are concerned, please don't be afraid to contact your doctor. I usually take my pill everyday from 9:30-10p & on Friday (third week) I accidentally forgot to take my pill so I didn't take it til' about 4a on Saturday. & Saturday i took it at about 11p but last night I forgot my pill again & didn't take it til' 5:30a this morning (Monday, 4th week) but now i'm afraid I was supposed to take 2 pills to make up for it. I'm confused on what to do. Today is now my 4th week so I start on my first sugar pill as of tonight. What will happen? Is there any chance I can get pregnant this way? My boyfriend & I had unprotected sex just yesterday... Please help :(

I took the Tri-sprintec 28 day supply, and I still have yet to have a (period) cycle begin , but I am experiencing menstrual like cycle cramps? This I've never dealt with I would like to point out that (I'm 5'8, 335 LBS. women) any thought to what I may be experiencing also prior to this event I walked 5k every day on a 3 week raw life style W/O any(minimal) Animal products ;-) ## Hello, KattyBUG! How are you? Some women don't experience periods, while taking this oral contraceptive, so it's nothing to worry about, unless your doctor feels otherwise. Your weight could also be affecting it, as listed by the FDA, some oral contraceptives aren't as effective for overweight women. Your weight could also worsen the PCOS and mess up your natural body hormones, so you c...

UGH I should have NEVER skipped the pills and started a new pack. Yes, it delayed bleeding for about 3 days for my anniversary but this isn't worth it. I've been now bleeding for 2 weeks straight. Mostly spotting the last few days but heavy at the time I take the pill each day. I'm almost at the end of the 3rd week and want to know... should I just take the sugar pills and continue bleeding and then everything will go back to the way it was? Or should I skip them again and start a new pack? I don't want to bleed anymore. It's making me so moody and I'm breaking out and crying. I've been on this for 2 years and never had an issue until trying to skip my period. I think it's time to get a monophasic. HELP. ## Hello, Kate! How are you feeling? I'm sorry ...

Last week I started my new pack of tri sprintec. I somehow missed three pills in week one, and took two pills that Sunday (the day I realized). I didn't start a new pack, and this week I had unprotected intercourse five days after Sunday. I know my risks for pregnancy are very high, but are there any suggestions on what to do now? ## @Alexa, When you engage in that level of intimacy with your partner, assuming the risk of pregnancy is something that both individuals have to live with and be mentally prepared for in the event that something does/doesn't go as planned. But "what's done is already done" and you can't go back in time to reverse it... So with that said, I would just encourage you to continue taking your pills as prescribed and from this point onward, ...

I been on my period for the past couple months my OB prescribed this to regulate my cycle and stop bleeding. How fast should I see results?? Should I take 3 pills at once to stop the bleeding. I need to stop the bleeding ASAP ## Hello, Boo29! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Did you doctor instruct you take 3 at once? There are no guarantees that doing that will stop the bleeding, it could actually prolong it, or make it heavier. The best thing to do would be to take it as prescribed and let it rebalance your hormones, so it stops, but that may take a week or two. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, mood swings and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can...

I've been on birth control for about 7 years. Never have I missed a period. I started my pack as normal and my boyfriend and I had sex during this week and didn't use protection. Went on and took week 2 and 3 but missed Thursday's pill in week 3 but made it up Friday morning and I am now on my Thursday night sugar pill week 4 and nothing...no period. I've always gotten it on Tuesday so I'm not sure what to do. I did take a pregnancy test this morning (Thursday) and it was negative. I also have cramps and symptoms of my period.

So far I haven't experienced spotting since the 3rd month after I started taking the pills, however today I noticed very slight spotting. Is this anything to be concerned with? I'm very consistent taking my pills and when ever I'm late taking them it is usually only 15-30minutes behind schedule. As far as sex goes my boyfriend and I don't get to see each other much so I only had sex 1 time since starting this pack and that was 2 days ago and he pulled out. Is there anything to be concerned about?

I recently skipped the white sugar pills while taking tri-sprintec, and I've been spotting for about two weeks now. Is there anyway to stop the bleeding? ## Hello, Emma! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. No, there is really no way to stop the spotting. Things will eventually get back on track and balance back out, most likely after your next period. Your body is expecting that break every month that allows a period to happen and by skipping that week, you've thrown your hormonal balance off. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. OK I never taking birth control before and now my Dr gave me tri-sprintec and i never a my period in August and I started takening the pill Wednesday 27'and started my period on the 30 how long will I be on my period and is it normal to start on week 1??? ## I can't say for sure how long you will be on your period, it can be irregular for the first 3 months or so, while your body is adjusting to this medication, which means yes, it can also be normal to start at an odd time during the month. You will also not be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken it for a full 7 days. Is there anything else I can help with?
