I recently skipped the white sugar pills while taking tri-sprintec, and I've been spotting for about two weeks now. Is there anyway to stop the bleeding?

Hello, Emma! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

No, there is really no way to stop the spotting. Things will eventually get back on track and balance back out, most likely after your next period. Your body is expecting that break every month that allows a period to happen and by skipping that week, you've thrown your hormonal balance off.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms.

Is there anything else I can help with?

emma the sugar pills are just that, they really have nothing to do with your period it just helps keep you on track for that week, break thru bleeding usually stops on its own but if it continues consult your doc
