Tri Sprintec Birth Control Missed Pill

Last month I accidentally took two pills in one day and the next time I just took one like nothing happened. When it was time to take this month's pack I waited and skipped a day to get back on track with the days. I usually get my period Monday night or Tuesday morning but it hasn't came yet. Am I going to get a period?

Your hormone levels have likely been thrown off, a bit, by the doubling up and then skipping a day. It may take awhile for things to balance back out.

Have you gotten your period, yet? You may skip, or it may come later. If you're very concerned, then you should speak to your doctor.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms.

I take my tri-sprintec pills regularly and usually I don't miss pills but this time it happened. I missed one pill (Tuesday) in my second week. I took it as soon as I remembered the next day and then took that days pill that night. I read several places online that I would need to use back up birth control and that I wouldn't need it. I had unprotected intercourse the day i took both pills. I have been on these pills for years and haven't missed any in a really long time. Do you think I could get pregnant?
