Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

UPDATE: Neurologist AND pharmacists have told me that many find aurobindo ineffective. Ask at the pharmacy for the generic that works best for you. Switch pharmacies if they won't carry (Teva and Barr brands are more expensive for pharmacies and gov't backed insurance does not reimburse enough for smaller pharmacies to carry the difference). Some pharmacies also will order for you. Remember - active ingredient amount does vary and fillers can cause side effects or interfere with optimal effect for you. Don't let anyone tell you all generics are equal; they're not. You must be your own medical advocate more than ever these days. Don't be a grump to the pharmacist; they are there to help. Be kind, be firm, ask for what you need. I'm back on Teva and am no longer having neurofatigue/narcoleptic sleep comas; I have my life back.

I experienced severe psychomotor agitation and dermatillomania after taking Aurobindo brand Adderall. I started to pick and pull at my skin and COULD NOT STOP. I lost control of my hands and lost sensation in my forearms, face, and the rest of my body.

This didn't happen with Teva brand, which I had taken for years.

I was caught completely off guard with this garbage. There's something WRONG with Aurobindo brand Adderall. It's defective. Maybe the combination of salts is off, or maybe some of the pills are super potent. It's not the same as Teva brand and the dozens and dozens of complaints testify to this.

In addition I experienced constant nausea and extreme fatigue, and when I would try to stand up, I felt like I was going to faint.

They also made me extremely agitated and angry, I was completely unable to feel pleasure or think clearly, and I lost my job because I couldn't function or complete tasks.

This trash ruined my life.

Do not take this product. It should be pulled from the market. Adderall was working miracles and I finally felt like I was normal. 3 days on these amphetamine 20 mg tabs and I have serious side effects. Dry eyes, irritation on my skin and it feels like sunburn on my lips and around my eyes. What's worse is it made all adhd symptoms worse. I was irritated by everything and had rage tantrums and terrible mood swings. This drug is not medicine. It is poison. Avoid this pharmaceutical company, it can have adverse effects.

Ive been taking teva brand for over 6 years, ive tried the pink brand which i believe to be sandoz and they gave me a mild head ache but 1 week ago i got my script filled at local pharmacy because the walgreens where i go was out of teva (the technician at walgreens referred me) and i received aurobindo. When i took it i felt like i got hit by a truck. I had to lay down..the vertigo is horrible. I filed a complaint with the fda and i even called and spoke with someone about any information about this drug. I did read the article to mr reddy about the mold which i dont understand....my question is what is in this crap? Aurobindo pharma comes from india and teva comes from israel. So theres nothing i can do this month im screwed and i think i already have lose of sensation from all the switch around generics. This is cold blooded whoever is making this and distributing it to the US..its murder.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was using Mylan or Teva 10mg, twice per day. CVS filled my prescription one day and I noticed that it looked different. I didn't think much about it until the next afternoon when I started feeling very bad. My body felt cold and I was in discomfort. CVS had given me Core Pharma. Then I went to Walgreens and asked about it. The pharmacist there told me that they only use Teva, and that Core Pharma had the least amount of medicine legally required to pass FDA approval. ALSO, the fillers for delivery to the human system were different and of low quality. I forgot to check last month when I got my script filled (CVS HAD ON MY PROFILE TO ONLY GIVE ME MYLAN OR TEVA) and when I got home I saw they had given me something much worse: the AUROBINDO brand. It was so bad I had to quit taking it for a month! I just learned from a pharmacist at CVS that they only use certain suppliers and we're basically slaves to whatever they send them. Walgreens, however, owns part of a good distribution company and ALWAYS has TEVA. Everyone should change from CVS to WALGREENS as soon as possible. WALMART has TEVA sometimes as well. I agree with you. Now, it's not about the patients, it's about the bottom dollar. CVS should be ashamed. Please pass this on to other patients with ADD.

I’m not going to provide an argument proving generics aren’t identical. I’d win a debate with anybody, because they’re not identical. Instead, I’m gonna try to “feel out” the differences. I’ve taken a few, but most recently Teva and Aurobindo. At first Aurobindo sucked. It seemed weaker and less effective. For whatever reason, it didn’t lose effectiveness over a period of a couple months (plenty long for me to see a reduced effect in the past). However, after getting Teva again, I’ve identified the problem I have with Aurobindo. Aurobindo almost feels dirtier. It’s somewhat subtle, but it’s there. It feels less consistent and it affects me physically more. Dehydration, constipation, and heart rate are all increased on Aurobindo. Luckily I don’t get headaches on either one and I don’t get tired on either one. Teva conclusively works just as well, but it’s cleaner. It feels more consistent, it’s effective, and it’s side effects are much less significant. I don’t really think Aurobindo is total horses***, I feel like it does what it’s supposed to do 9/10 times. It just does so with side effects and unevenness even within one dose. It’s rougher, and not in a good/stronger way.

i recently got a refill of my adderall through CVS caremark, and bingo, aurobindo pills do NOT work! I am trying to find the active ingredient concentrations to compare to the Teva pills I previously had, which worked GREAT!!! Totally ticked, as I do not think I can exchange these for different ones AND I have a 3 month supply of garbage pills! If anyone knows who to complain to, or how I can get this problem corrected, please help!

ALWAYS ASK YOUR PHARMACIST BEFORE HANDING OVER YOUR Rx IF THEY HAVE TEVA TO FILL YOUR ORDER. I do it every time. Got screwed one month at CVS when they handed me Sandoz..which just gave me horrible headaches. As of today, December 2 2014, WALGREENS is stocking TEVA.

I called my doc today to see if I can get a new Rx. The pharmacist at CVS caremark told me that they do not carry Teva in the regular format anymore, only in SR -- sooo, they said they now carry some manufacturer called Aoramet or something like that. I am afraid to take it to try, but they suggested that I get a one month supply, and if it doesnt work, at least I will know going forward and will have to get my meds from someone else... geee, thanks, to not be able to get something that works for what my insurance is contracted to get. I think if I am able to get a month rx, with the override, then I will get it at walgreens (get the teva ones) and then try the next rx for the brand they carry to see if it works or not. Or, I could see who carries Barr, since that seems to have worked for many people. Will keep you all posted. Also, CVS caremark told me that they have not heard of this manufacturer being a problem.. yeah, right!

Finally some news about this! I received my script filled with the Aurobindo and I took it and felt like I was getting stabbed in the back! My neck and arms hurt, it was terrible. Never again will I use this company!

Imagine giving this stuff to children who cannot express as clearly as adults what they are undergoing.!

This Aurobindo stuff can be dangerous. The inactive substances can cause many symptoms, even psychoses. I know someone who used it and saw huge negative personality changes, which he didn't have when taking Teva.

What's wrong with this generic?

I just picked up aurobindo generic adderall yesterday at CVS and it is the WORST!!! I still have a terrible headache, I'm dizzy, nauseated, sweating, shaking. I too want to file a complaint with the FDA. How do I do that? This needs to be discontinued! Whatever this is, it's not generic adderall!

Core pharma is currently the best Adderall. Yes, they used to be the worst. Any older ADHD patient will tell you that. However TEVA's quality has drastically declined this year and their pills have no effect anymore, Aurobindo is notorious for being the absolute worst Adderall available, and Sandoz is not available anywhere.

I prefer the Aurobindo/Aurolife over the Teva manufacturer. I do not get the feeling of not getting enough air in my lungs as I do when taking the Teva manufacturerbrand of Adderall. Aurobindo works great for my focus and quality of life and I do not get the dry mouth as I do on Teva. What I find is, what manufacture brand works for one doesn't necessarily mean it works for everyone. Each manufacturer may use a different filler in their pill. All medications don't work for everyone. Some people are sensitive to different medications and fillers. It's like one size dosen't fit all. Many people may buy the same brand of jeans however of this many, they all may wear different cuts and sizes.

Re: Optimistic (# 208) Expand Referenced Message

Everybody's body it's going to react differently medications I have tried just about every generic adderall and the only one that really works for me is that Aurobindo, and now I can't even find that anymore, just because one generic doesn't work for you it doesn't mean that it's not going to work for somebody else, so we calling them is not really the answer but the answer is we should be able to call ahead and get the prescription Adderall that works for us

My brother is having the same problems with this med and I work for CVS. It depends on your pharmacist. My pharmacy manager is going to special order the old Teva brand so that my brother,a patient , and other patients that have complained can fill next time. Unfortunately with the strict laws in Texas we can't just take it and switch it out so they will have to wait till next refill. Your pharmacist can make that decision. They just don't want to and that I am sorry for. Good luck!

Denise, fyi, "Barr" and "Teva" are the same company and are used as interchangeable terms. Barr was purchased by Teva, a bigger generic drug maker, in 2007.

Hey everyone!
I have taken several different brands of generic adderall for the past 4 or 5 years (most currently on 30mg 4x/day and it is Sandoz brand). When we moved in March I began getting Barr brand adderall and it makes me feel terrible (mind you, i do have a lot of food sensitivities including corn and corn starch is one of the inactive ingredients in the Barr brand). My gf loves the Barr brand but for me it's a no go. It seems obvious to me that Sandoz works best because there are less inactive ingredients then all the rest (I also have digestion issues so the less my body has to process, the better). Anyway, just wanted to give my input so maybe it could help someone else. Calling my pharmacy today to order Sandoz :) P.S. Recently had to switch my Xanax prescription as well due to some adverse side effects and they just so happened to order me Sandoz brand and they work wonderfully now. :)

My research confirms Aurobindo is a manufacturer of all other names associated with Adderall and Amphetamine Salts. The Company does not have good records for medication. Compounds. No wonder they are located in India.

Hey guys, all of these reviews are 100% true. Aurobindo is absolutely terrible. Ive been on Adderall for years and have experimented with many many generic brands and also the name brand and I agree with everything that has been said in response to your post. I filled my 15mg Adderall IR twice a day on 6/18/2014, and this brand makes me feel awful. It's almost like there is more dextro-amp and tweaky, unsafe chemicals in it then any other brand. It makes you edgy, uncomfortable, and increases anxiety unlike any other brand ever has. Also, it has dirty side effects like stomach issues, nausea, odd sleep patterns, chest pain, etc. etc. For anyone filling a script soon avoid filling at CVS, King Soopers, Target, and a few other places. Walmart seems to keep the Teva brand (now Actavis) in stock. Also it doesn't hurt to just call your pharmacy and ask if this is the brand they carry. Hope this helps!
