Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

Having the same issue now. I managed to get the first dose down and it worked within a half hour. Been drinking water as directed after the first dose. But was definitely nauseous throughout. Now working on second dose and I've had to remain close to the bathroom for fear that I'm going to vomit after each sip. Don't think I'll be able to finish this. Trying to decide between the lesser of two evils...drink this stuff and vomit it back up, or not drink it and potentially have to go through this whole process over again. Has anyone done this and been fine only taking half the second dose? I'm already mostly clear after the first dose.

Tasted pretty bad but didn't think it was as bad as some here said - lol. It took me a bit more than 5 hours for this to work but guess it was 5 less hours of misery. It did work fine. I would use it again.

Oh my God, I'm going through the EXACT same thing right now. It took me 30 minutes to get the first dose down, and I've been dreading the 2nd dose ever since, but it seems even worse than the first! I've had TWO SIPS and have almost lost both from gagging so badly. I don't know how I can get the rest of it down!

Are you clear? If you're clear, I wouldn't worry. If not, try to get as much as you can down and suck on a lemon or lime wedge, it helps. Good luck... The prep is the worst!

I'm worried bc I'm just starting my 2nd dose, which I've been dreading since starting the 1st! I'm so worried bc I can't force it down! What do I do? I've diluted it with lemon vitamin water, which is better, and diluted it into 4ths as several suggested and that's better. But I still can't get it down. I cannot chug it til its gone bc I've had gastric sleeve surgery and I just physically don't have the room to do that! I am so worried the last 5 hours will be for nothing if I can't get this down.

Took the first dose at 10am and had just two small softish bowel movements. Did not really start to work until 5-5:30. Just about every 20 minutes I have to run to bathroom. Am using depends - which helps to feel a bit more secure and to prevent small accidents.

Did this prep again this year after swearing I never would again, and it was horrid as usual. The first dose was not a big deal but when I woke at 4 am for the second it was horrible, I could barely get it down. If I could swallow pills easily I would do the magnesium citrate prep with dulcolax. This prep is just vile. Do anything but this prep.

Yes, I had it, this past Monday. The Suprep was nothing, compared to horror stories I read. I had the first bottle on Sunday afternoon, and the second bottle, early Monday morning. I had the water, that they recommended after drinking the solution. It was so very easy. Nothing to worry about

Good Lord. The first 16 oz. yesterday evening was tolerable. This morning one, geez , your bottom is really sore, gosh, I can't wait until this is over. I had a colonoscopy 10 years ago. I used the old fashioned prep. I do not recall about the bottom being so sore. I read some of the comments from other people about using Vaseline. GOOD CHOICE!!!!!!! My bottom is less sore. Gosh,I wish there was another way of doing this. Oh,forgot to say, there is a little nausea going on. Good Luck everyone.

Using suprep as I wrote and it is fine. If you are contispated, jam packed with day old donuts, do to drink enough water in your daily life., then sure
Of course it's not going to be easy. It's not the suprep- it's your lifestyle most likely, or condition. Drinking 6-8 glasses of WATER a day helps one flush stuff out - sodas, juices, etc don't count. If you are not hydrated you will have impaction and left overs clinging to your colon walls. Suprep works to break this stuff down and get it out.
It's working well - not super comfortable and I had to sit off and on the pot Tay but it's not a horrible experience.

I took suprep this past thursday 4/9/2015 . It tasted horrible very bitter. they allowed me to mix it w/half water and half juice. even that didn't help. It took 2 & 1/2 jhours to start working. took at 7pm started at 9:30 pm. I was going till 12:30 am. Got a light 1 hr nap before I had to take the second dose at 1am. It finally stopped at 5:30 am. Was able to get the colonoscopy . the following day the cramps and diarrhea started again. Not sure when it will stop. I not only would never ever use this product again I am filing an adverse reaction report w/ the FDA. When I told the Dr about it he said oh you didn't need to use suprep you could have used golyghtly like you did before. I wish his nurse had indicated I had options. I had no problems before. I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you've takes it and had no problems go ahead but if you've never taken it consider yourself warned.

Part of the theory behind Suprep might be to cut down on total gag time. For the sake of argument, let's make the assumption that you will gag equally as bad on Suprep as on Miralax. Suprep requires a total of 32 oz. to be drank. Miralax requires 1 gallon, or 128 oz to be drank. 128/32 = 4. Therefore, Suprep, as bad as it might be, reduces total gag time by a factor of 4. Of course, this analysis is based on simple assumptions. One might gag more on Suprep than Miralax. If this is factored in, then the formula would have to adjust for this. Let's make the assumption that you gag twice as bad on Suprep than on Miralax. if so, the formula would have to be adjusted as follows: (0.5) X (128/32) = 2. We could call the "2" the tolerance factor, i.e., to what degree Suprep is more tolerant to you than Miralax. In this case, Suprep is twice as tolerant as Miralax. But everyone is different. Using the aforementioned formula, it is theoretically possible that Miralax could be equally or more tolerant to someone than Suprep. For the formula to be valid, the individual would have to try both Suprep and Miralax. But even if you didn't try Miralax, the lower quantity of Suprep has to work in your favor to some degree. So when taking Suprep, as bad as it may taste to you, the alternatives could be worse when everything is factored in. In subjective terms, what it comes down to in the end is which is the lesser of the evils.

It works great just so disgusting to drink. Even worse tasting than the go litely. And when you drink 16 ozs if suprep plus two bottles of water that is still a lot of drinking. Hated it

I began to lose faith in the credibility of the medical profession in regards to colonoscopies when Fleet Phospho Soda was pulled from the market. Thousands of people (including myself and my wife) used this highly tolerable laxative without any problems whatsoever. Only a very small number of people experienced renal failure and these high risk people could have been left out from using it had any reasonable attempt be made to do it. Other people are incapable of following directions to stay hydrated regardless of what they use. When my primary care physician told me that Fleet Phospho Soda was no longer available, I believed she sensed that I was very close to pulling the plug on doing any colonoscopy at all. It seemed that she very quickly wanted to get off the subject and go right into talking about the other preparations not being that bad at all. But when you're told that drinking a gallon of mixture is no problem when previously all you had to do was drink a few teaspoons of a highly tolerable off-the-shelf laxative, you begin to see that something is very wrong with this picture. I suspect that other patients she had may have refused to do any colonoscopy at all based on this. Two unanswered questions here: (1) If the use of Fleet Phospho Soda was deemed so bad after thousands of people had used it for years, how could anyone trust using any of the other preparations either? (2) Why wasn't some attempt made by the medical profession to leave out high risk people from using it and at least let other people who had used it previously with no problem continue to use it? Fortunately, I learned about Suprep and it worked well for me. My wife had no problem drinking a gallon of Miralax, but I don't know if I could have tolerated it or not because I hadn't tried it. Conversely, I don't know if she could have tolerated the Suprep because she hadn't tried it. In any case, colonoscopy preparation regressed when a highly tolerable laxative was pulled from the market and less tolerable ones were all that remained. As time goes forward, medical procedures are supposed to get better, not worse. But this is exactly what happened in colonoscopy preparation. I do believe that the medical profession is well aware that they have gone backwards in time in regards to tolerable colonoscopy preparation and is probably doing it's best to develop a preparation at least as tolerable as the Fleet Phospho Soda. But there is no question that a fiasco occurred here.
