Subutex 460 Vs 54 411 (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

Does the Buprenorphine 8mg 460 work as well as 54 411's? I'm curious as I've seen other imprints, just not 460. Please let me know if they are better or worse.

The process is NOT WITH CVS. They were just the pharmacy we got the Roxane brand from which is obsolete now. Also CVS is in a huge legal suit for refusing to honor Rx coupons. My daughter always uses one now, but was told it was left to the pharmacy's discretion, which apparently is unlawful cause they're being sued. My pharmacist told me so it's not hearsay. He spoke freely about our dilemma and like my Dr suggested, we filed complaints with the FDA. This is all about a multi billion dollar industry. Not about anyone caring if we have our meds and they are working. I'm praying someone will though in the FDA. We have to speak out. There's power in numbers remember. If enough people file complaints with Wentworth/Sundail in India where they are made with God knows what. It's frustrating as hell. We have an opiate crisis at epidemic levels. From the soccer mom buying illicit drugs to replace an addiction to Percocet from a Dr. It's happening and it's real, getting worse everyday. I've struggled all my life with opiates and finally after Roxane brand my life was good. Now I'm forced to take suboxone strip's and am thankful I have insurance today that will cover. Nothing seems to be fine or certain anymore.

@kdmrXohio,

MedsChat has a free pharmacy savings card that can be accessed via the following link: Rx Savings Card

It's reportedly good at over 60,000 pharmacies across the US and may help you save anywhere from 15-75% off the cost of your prescription.

I hope this helps!

RE: "SUBUTEX is straight buprenorphine with no blocker."

Buprenorphine has blocking effects too - and is a partial opioid agonist that acts as an antagonist as well, making it very unique and in a category of its own.

My understanding is that Naloxone is only present in suboxone to inhibit intravenous use, but Bupe deserves credit where credit is due.

"Buprenorphine is a partial agonist meaning, it activates the opioid receptors in the brain, but to a much lesser degree than a full agonist. Buprenorphine also acts as an antagonist, meaning it blocks other opioids, while allowing for some opioid effect of its own to suppress withdrawal symptoms and cravings."

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Ok now check this out. I have insurance with United healthcare. They've always paid for my subs. I'm on disability so Thank you God. Here's the deal. Mylan brand has raised there prices so much 245.00 for 90 no pharmacy will fill it cause there only reiembersed 65.00. I contacted my insurance they are working on reimbursing me but I had to get help from family. I'm either going to have to go back to the aweful Sun 460s / Hi-Tech/ Activis. Any specific on what would be the best I've read horrible stories about Activis. Hi tech are like skiddles and wear off sooner and the CVS 460 burn my tongue wearing off too. I contacted Mylan but I'm also on to my insurance. I think I don't have a choice I have to take whatever the pharmacy refused to fill it with my insurance. Seems like there should be laws about that...idk.

I’m in Pensacola Florida and my Cvs said they will special order me the Mylan ones bc I’m having issues with the new ones. Ask the lead pharmacist if they can do the same for you

I just received the 460 Buprenorphine hydrochloride (sublingual) 8 mg. It does not have the usual distastefulness as the 54’s do. It rather just tastes like a normal pill under your tongue. Has anyone else had this experience?

They do however special order the merger brand that was Roxanne and is now Roxanne westward (54 411) depending on if your CVS is an a**hole or not... I prefer 54s over any. They tried giving me 460s tonight after I specifically asked for my order to be placed sunday..someone dropped the ball. Anyways, 460 is probably the only ones I haven't tried. But why change brands when I know 54s work?

I've been on the 54 411 for 5 years never had an issue. CVS switched to the 460 since being on those I had horrid burning under my tongue, my leg started swelling and I was having low blood circulation in my left leg. The other night I took my dose like normal out of nowhere I started feeling weird, the feeling scared me so bad I made myself throw up since then I have been to afraid to take my dose which has resulted in withdrawal so I take a small dose to get rid of the withdrawal. I'm hoping to switch to a new pharmacy.

Just doing some skimming and Scanning thru previous posts. I was brought to this page after attempting to do a little research on the Sun Pharma Subutex pills I was just prescribed. Haven't taken one yet but will do a follow up. I am in St. Pete and go to a local CVS pharmacy. They have always. And I mean ALWAYS. Without Fail. Had the 54 411s in stock. Until THIS evening. I cannot comment on the 460s yet. But wish me luck. It seems most of you have had terrible experiences. I am originally from Michigan and have been taking Subs for 9 years now. Pain management and Addiction treatment as well. Over the course of that time I've had just about every different manufacturer of subs there is come across the pharmacy counters. All work similarly. For me. Not speaking on the behalf of others. Yes. Some do seem to work better than others. But I have never had adverse side effects from Any of them. I can add that I too went a significant amount of time without insurance, spending upwards of $275/month staying "Clean". I've tried the RX Cards. Discounts mom and pop shops. Internet. All of it. RX savings cards seemed to help me out the best in terms of accessibility and price. Those of you looking for a discount may want to give that a try. Best of luck to Each and Every one of you doing the right thing. Keep your Heads up and Press on. Tomorrow is another day.

I've been on buprenorphine for about 3 years. I'm not sure who the 1st manufacturer was, but when Subutex went generic, not too long ago, I was given a script for the 460 imprinted version. I had been well maintained for both MAT and pain management on 8 mg per day. The 460 Brand's efficacy wore off in 4-6 hours and I felt like I was in withdrawal. My doctor upped me to 16 mg and then again to 24 mg. When I finally googled information about my problem, I found out that generic manufacturers can change the ingredients, fillers and even reduce the amount of the buprenorphine itself by as much as 20%. This, combined with different fillers in some Brand's of generic Subutex was and is the problem. I have switched back to Roxanne's Brand's sublingual tablets that have the 54 11 marking. I am now comfortable with 8mg once again.

Re: Jeffrey (# 95) Expand Referenced Message

I believe the most amount of variance in regards to activ2 ingredients is no more than 6% not 20. I may. 3 incorrect. Bit I have read articles that pertain to this complaint/ rumor. I may have to do some more res3arch b4 fully stand behind my statement. I do not think such a significant reduction would b3 legally allowed.

absolutely! I have been on Buprenorphine for more than 10 years and picked up this Sun Pharma 8mg tabs Rx 2 days ago. At first it seemed like my mouth was burning, now my mouth is all inflamed and very sore.

Buprenorphine is the blocker in both Subutex and Suboxone. Buprenorphine is the BLOCKER. Naloxone is a "grabber" like Narcan when administered intravenously...it will cause precipitated withdrawal. The naloxone is ineffective taken orally. It is only in suboxone to prevent iv drug use. There is so much misinformation! But that is the case!

Really to each their own. Everyone will react differently to different tabs as they are made of the same general chemical complex. The fillers will cause a different reaction to each individual.

Both my husband & I got these 460 the last 2 months. We got clean together 3 years ago, & both of us are super careful not to bring things up to one another for fear of it playing into the others subconscious. So for weeks we both kind of suffered. the 460s truthfully do not have the shelf life the other bups have. Usually like 24 hours before we really need to take more. But the 460s seem to only last about 4-6 ( at the most) & taste horrible, & kinda do burn under my tongue.

Guys I hate to be “that guy” but it’s all in your guys heads... I used to be the same way, as I’ve been on bupe for about 10 years and I used to panic when I couldn’t find my favorite brand subutex or suboxone... I found that the panic and the constant thoughts about it not working as well is what causes the non fav brand to not work as well... the human brain is a powerful thing!!! If you tell yourself something isn’t going to work as well then it’s not goIng to! I really find the less I stress about it the better the 460s work for me... I’m not sure about the tongue burning and ulcers tho as I only take 2mg internasoly per day.. however if you really don’t like these pills, tell your doctor the problem you’re having and have him switch you over to Suboxone... either the Strips or the Tablets... I guarantee it’ll solve your problems completely!!! Good luck!!!

Re: Rawdog (# 111) Expand Referenced Message

I'm in southwest Florida and we have a grocery store/pharmacy called winn Dixie. They have the 54 411 there... The company was roxanne/westward. but now its called hikma. If your not sure who has them you can call the company and they will tell you what pharmacies have them..there is also a site called btodrems where you can find all the 7 manufactured companies along with the dose and active ingredient. I just found out that Mylan is 8.624, actavis is 8mg, hi tech 8.64, hikma 8.64, Rhodes 8.64, sun 8mg and teva is 8.64 all say equivalent to 8mgs. I don't know what that's all about but does that mean some are stronger?

Ho everyone you should try the new Rhodes. If you can't get them go to a mom n pop pharmacy ask them to order them. You will be surprised at the difference from all the generics out there. They compare to the original subutex name brand. I'm q huge fan the the hikma 54 411. Also. But if I have to choose from now on its most definitely the new Rhodes sibs. Thx
