Sandoz Adderall Reviews (Page 4)

Updated

Sandoz is the best generic ir adderall I've used. August 11, 2017 I was told by the pharmacist they no longer produce this product. I asked if brand name was available and was told yes. When I received them I noticed they were made by Teva and let me tell you they are awful. I don't know what to do if I can't find a decent generic brand.

Re: Clinician (# 58) Expand Referenced Message

I reply to the message about the newer generic brand from CVS and the patient's reactions such as being tired. The choice CVS made in sourcing its adderall generic manufactured by AuroBindo is profit margin. That's true of any business. That's the bottom line. I have not recovered the excellent-albeit-former condition I was in prior to the pharmacies who carelessly switch products they provide their "customers." Never mind we are "patients."

Who is our advocate to the providers of retail pharmacies?

Re: Chris (# 61) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you. I must have not seen it. I went to CVS today, explained WHO I am, what I do for a living, then explained my recent medication experience in detail. She told me to talk to my Doctor and suggested that I take half the dose. She told me that there's nothing I can do for the remainder of the month until my next script is to be filled when she can attempt to return my medication to the previous generic manufacturer. I'm very very unhappy about this and would love to know how we can start a movement on protest around the pharmacies ability to switch manufacturers without consulting its patients first. Thank you for your response my friend. I appreciate your time.

We are our own advocate when it comes to our health. We know what our "norm" is. We have to push for answers on our own. Whatever it takes.

I am sorry but I had the same experience. CVS does not care. I have been their client for 15 yrs and they don't believe my words.

Re: Clinician (# 62) Expand Referenced Message

There's more you should know about all this. You might try to research earlier conversations from 2017 on this site. Fellow chatters post links to describe the original brand and list all the other available brands. As for me, reducing the dosage of this particular brand does at least keep me out of the bed. But, there was so much more to the affects that are lost in the generic forms.

I will point, as you will see while reading through posts, people respond differently to each of the generic forms. For me, the Core Pharma shot me out of bed in the morning with lots on my mind. I loved that. No so much for any of the other formularies. And, if you suffer from anxiety, Core Pharma would not have been your formula. But this leads me to the point that the formulas are not the same.

In so far as addressing this problem, the only probable solution is to work closer with FDA to develop a guideline that stabilizes treatments for the patient. If the doctor work with us to find the right formula, then we should be able to depend on continued treatment with that medication. As it is, the pharmacies dictate what medicine we get. But, of course, doctors follow treatment limitations of insurers that require generic products be "tried" by the insured before qualifying patients for brand coverage. This procedure coupled with the never ending pursuit of profit margin, patients lose quality treatment. But, if you are aware of how we might garner support for stabilizing treatments using products that work for us, let me know.

Best of luck to you, my friend.

Re: Chris (# 67) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks Chris! It's definitely been a learning experience. A few years back, after trying, and eliminating a multitude of other things and still not being able to find relief, I acknowledged the possibility that medicinal treatment may be the best way to go. Especially considering the fact that as a teenager and young adult medication was highly effective. So in my mid thirties, I decided to go and be evaluated. This resulted in the medicinal regiment that I am remain on today. However, up until my last prescription fill, unbeknownst to me, I had consistently been given the Barr generic which positively impacted my life in more ways than I have time to list here. When I picked up my script I had a half days worth of the previous script, so I began the sandoz a little bit after mid-day. Within 1 hour I noticed that something was different and not in a good way. This is when I began to troubleshoot the problem, ultimately leading to the realization that it was in fact the sandoz. Since then I have spoken to my doctor 4 separate times, 3 of which he's attempted to send in a script for a different generic, and 1 where he requested brand name. Every single time, at every single pharmacy, the fill was denied. They did not care about my adverse effects and reported their primary concern is that they do not get flagged by the government for filling the script prior to the exhaustion of the existing scripts fill duration. Furthermore, 3 of the 4 carried only sandoz. So I am stuck with this subpar, unhealthy, completely different version of adderall. My frustration tolerance level remains extremely low and I feel like I have a cloud handing over me. Completely unmotivated to do anything, much less communicate with other human beings. This his highly problematic due to the responsibilities that I have as a Clinician. I spend all day helping other people try to achieve optimal health in each dimension of wellness, yet here I am getting screwed because of several systems in place. I am no addict. I have never increased in dosage. I am a responsible husband, father, employer, friend, and member of society, yet this is what I get. So, like you, I have reduced the dosage to about 3/4 in size and yes, it's helped a little bit; about 10%, but still, it's horrible. If you have the ability to post a link to the old threads and can do so here, I'd be very grateful.

Re: Clinician (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

I just wanted to chime in on trying to get your prescription filled before the prior fill was exhausted. Your doctor can change the mg but keep the dose the same, but because there is a change in mg, they would be required to fill. When I suddenly noticed the change I too contacted my doctor because I could just tell this new version was going to harm me with continued use. The new Sandoz is horrific. Anyway, he thought it may have been the dye, so to change the color he changed the mg, but still added up to the same amount taken per day. I had no problem with my insurance company or pharmacy when he did that, even though I had just had the other filled 5 days before. Originally it was 20mg once a day, and he changed it to 10mg twice a day. Unfortunately it turns out it is just the manufacturer Sandoz that is the problem, not the dye. But this month out of desperation I asked for a different treatment even though I'd taken Adderall for 8-10 years no problem(as long as it was the old version of Sandoz). The new version is nothing like it used to be and the difference was immediately noticable. But we decided on vyvanse and it's going ok. It's not Adderall, but it does clarify my ability to focus on task. It seems to lack the some of the prioritizing effect that Adderall gives me the ability to do. Plus, it fails a little on enabling the ability to follow through on tasks. But truely, thus could be a dosage issue. I may need more vyvanse for it to function like the Adderall did. But overall, it is so much better than the bad Adderall if you have no other choice. And I would bet there would be no issue at all with the pharmacy since it's basically an entirely different drug. Good luck!

Re: Clinician (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

It was a little difficult to find my earlier discussions as they were apparently archived by MedsChat in December. But, I managed to get into one:

[1] Sandoz-Adderall-formerly-EON

The name of the thread is "Sandoz Adderall vs EON" and you might try searching for other Adderall threads in MedsChat. In this link, Scroll down to "Roy Says." He lists the variety of generics that were available in the early part of 2017, and a link to the site that lists medication ingredients for that are non-pharmaceutical, such as fillers and dies. Looking at each of those should give you more knowledge about the manufacturers. Links to other discussions are illuminated in Blue at the top of these pages.

Here is a more current discussion, but I refer you to the opening post from "Rich":

[2] TEVA-30mg-vs-AUROBINDO-PHARM-Amphetamine-Salts-Adderall

Also, look at posts from Leslie.

Seriously, I just don't know that I will continue this treatment since the quality of generics is so bad. I mean, there are discussions about these generics that date back to 2013 and 2014. I did, however, learn that the manufacturer of my choice generic, CorePharma was sold to Impax Laboratories. The CorePharma Chairman hired the AuroBindo Quality Control VP who promised to make CorePharma the new "preferred partner." I can't get a break with these guys! However, I called Impax, and learned that their "Epic Pharma" will manufacture the CorePharma formula. I sent all these good folks links to some of these threads so they might understand that the treatment was life-changing for us. But, I doubt they will change their strategy for us. In the meantime, I will contact FDA and see what I can learn about controlling the problems of pharmacies switching our formulas, that is, changing manufacturers, without prior warning. Additionally, I would like the FDA to look more closely at the formula's produced by manufacturers so that they might more closely follow the Brand formula. Then, I'll find out what is necessary to change the patent laws that allow any 'ole body with a smart business plan to produce the generic without regard for the patients. But I won't say it like that. Today, I took 4, 30-mgs of Teva. 60 mgs in am, and 60 in afternoon. I got through the whole day, but my mood and inspiration are very low. I hope you are doing better with your treatment.

Best Regards,
Chris

Thank you! So my Doctor is not willing to change the dose therefore I was told today that I'm going to be forced to wait it out and suffer. I'm literally sick to my stomach.

Thank you Chris! So my Doctor is not willing to change the dose therefore I was told today that they've done all that they can and I'm going to be forced to wait it out and suffer. Furthermore, I'm at a loss as to which direction to go from here. I believe it was the Barr that I was taking all this time and now after all my research I'm not even sure if the name brand will work equally. This Sandoz is horrible for me. Complete lack of motivation even with 3/4 of the dosage. Mind running constantly, with increased anxiety and extremely low frustration tolerance level.

Just got my Sandoz 30 mg generic Adderall.. night and day difference!! The aeurobind (sorry I know it is misspelled) was horrid. I couldn’t believe how bad it was!! And to know I had a 3 month supply was depressing!! I could tell an immediate difference in the taste alone. Too bad there isn’t a way to test the “purity” I firmly believe the Aeurbind generic has a 10 or 20% purity level. They should exploited for “false advertising” ..

Lo (# 74) & Chris

Update: So I've now been taking 3/4 of my dose each time. I've determined the brand Sandoz releases much more rapidly, coupled with an effect targeted at the "hyper" NOT the "attention" part of my disorder. The expedited realease is evidence by severe headaches after only 3 hours and by an overwhelming lack of motivation, yet the constant stream of running thoughts remaining ever present. In my opinion, this generic medication is garbage and furthermore, the way all pharmacy staff and medical personnel keep claiming it to be exactly the same while disregarding my experience is shameful and disgusting. In a world that continues to promote person/client centered care, this arena of human service does not.

Okay, so in the beginning on july I started on sandoz 10mg, wow what a difference it made!
However, now it is only giving me racing thoughts and not helping with focusing or finishing tasks, yes I know that the medication should not make you want to complete tasks, but this medication has went from 100% to 0%.
I am tired of these horrible generics, I am switching to dexedrine, and in the future possibly even paying for the overpriced TEVA brand adderall XR. I feel like I am jumping through hoops and am close to giving up on being medicated.

I know these post are old but I've been on adds for years 2 30mg ir a day . Yesterday I got the orange e 404 Sandoz and in my opinion (which everyone is different especially with medication) these worked better then any I've had before . Everyone's body .. tolerance is different and I'm guessing is fillers are different that's why people like one rather than another . To me why argue over it ? If something doesn't work for you but works for someone else then who cares ?

I don't know what happened, maybe adder all itself is not for me, sandoz has gotten worse for my focus even with adhd, it made me become obsessive and more angry, but at the same time i became so focus so obsessed I never got anything done. I have been off adderall for about 4 days and wow, my appetite has returned, i am myself again, hyper and more over the top and hard time focusing. I am honestly happier like this, sure I am struggling to get anything accomplished, but I swear adderall has been good maybe for a month or two then bleh, I am trying dexedrine later today, hopefully I do not become a robot on these...

Re: Krissy (# 78) Expand Referenced Message

As far as I can see, these posts are very current. I think the argument(at least for myself) is not that Sandoz Adderall is better or worse than others, but that it's changed and not working like it used to. Where I'm from Sandoz has been consistent for at least 3 yrs, then bam, now they suck(as of January, that is). But maybe with all the complaints they've reformulated back to good. I sure am hoping that's the case. My life has gone to hell in a hand basket trying all the other trash generics since February/March. I even tried brand vyvanse (almost killed me). Lol
