Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 49)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Tina (# 193) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks tina, yes screenshots would be great...but you know the real deal, follow the rules.. lol but yes I do know exactly what they look like, they came out right after brand name subutex,...then followed teva...I took them for many years...I was just thinking that when I go to 'btodrems' all the time to be nosey, why list something that's not available? I didn't think it was available anymore anyways just because I took it for a long time and then boom it was gone followed by another..so like I said they only ones I have never taken or seen is Mylan, sun..maybe because I obviously must not shop where they are sold. Now sun is still in my area somewhat because as i was call all pharmacies looking for hikma or Rhodes 3 shopping center Pharmacy's said they had them...I didn't need my refill so I didn't get to see them. And I still wouldn't have got them only as a very last resort..its funny now that I found Rhodes I find myself thinking about hikma?? Which is better humm??... see one finally gets what they are looking for and as soon as you get it your thinking humm. Again...I'm speaking of myself of course..I am very tolerant on pills, and only looking for the strongest medicines to do their job..could be an old habbit addiction?... it's crazy that when Mylan called me, I didn't answer they left a message. So I called them back the next day..I actually made a call to only hikma/westward. Because when I picked up my script and brought it home it was at the time for 90 pills..but damn the wear cracked up way more it was hard to make a count. I did separate them on the counter and made a count of them..they seemed all there..so see now after I put the call out in the meantime Mylan called me asking me how she could be helpful? I told her I dont think you could this has nothing to do with you company or medicine..but she took note of it all..in the meantime I asked about them because I knew of a girl looking despite for them. She gave me info and sent a huge pamphlet. It was huge tho, they couldn't even squeeze it into my mail box....also I'm thinking it's a shame the way we have to actually hunt and seek out or medication...mostly one prefers the other or so..but truthfully they should be easy availability. I'm always stressing out when refill time come. Are they going to have some, or a partial? Some pharmacies will only refill one day before..Walgreens for me if its 3 days early usually no problem..but see I cant take the orange actavis... the one day on the phone they said the head honcho would be soon I could ask. But I didn't I know how chain pharmacies work...oh gosh, I got off course..I just wish they still had brand name buprenorphine..why take something away that worked well with everyone?

How are they compared to 54s?? I'm very curious! I prefer the 54s & hated all the others & in being told the new rp b8s are just like the 54s.

Re: Charlene (# 191) Expand Referenced Message

My doctor told me Teva brand of Buprenorphine isn’t available, in the pharmacies in the US. He wanted to put me on that brand because of the allergies I have to the fillers in Buprenorphine pills. When we were going through the different generic brand manufacturers that make Buprenorphine that’s when he told about Teva. I think it’s available overseas, just not in the US. I wish you can put screenshots of pictures in these comments. Then I can put the picture of the pill color of Teva I found, to show to you or anybody else.

Re: Charlene (# 187) Expand Referenced Message

Humm, I just googled "who owns teva" because ever since you brought it up I'm curious now, why cant we find this one for availability? It says they are the largest drug manufacturer in the world. And it definitely was a very good generic..we can get most others why not this one

Re: Tina (# 189) Expand Referenced Message

Oh gosh time, maybe I miss wrote that. Oops. I have taken buprenorphine treatment since 2007. What I should have written was the only 2 out of all the generics I have never tried was Mylan, and sun..out all my years I have never ever seen either two..I stared on brand name subutex and just kept moving down the line as new one came to be..my husband and I always used Walgreens and just excepted what they gave..it was only a short time ago I decided to see what else is out in other pharmacy. I'm glad I did that because I never thought some were even still around I just accepted what I was given.. original will always be best to me..then I had the roxanne/westward/hikma..now I have had Rhodes 2 x now.. I just dont like actavis at all..... I can't believe I took that one the most and it was me just knot knowing what else is out their..really I just started to read these medschat blogs I have no idea what actually brought me here. But it made me realize I don't have to except what Walgreens gives me anymore..lol..but ya, I was that nieve even tho all the years on this medicine...then somehow I learned about btodrems.com. that led me to more info..that's when I noticed some generics have more bup in them then others. Another thing I never knew..its not much more but enough. For I am very tolerant person when it comes to drugs. Always have been..so i guess for this expensive medacine for us all i want the most for my money. I haven't had to use actavis in a while but last month i ran into no choice. By the 3rd day on it I realized something was off..so I went to look and noticed it has just 8mg bup..now I take 4 pills a day and all along I was taking hikma 8.64 x 4 day, boom take 4 pills and delete the extra bup no wonder I noticed something off instantly.. well not to mention I just dont like the way the bup melts and taste...but thanks for coming to me..I was just Googling this new medicine that supposedly came out called Lucemyra..costing patients $1,700 for a week of treatment, they are comparing it to clonidine, it's just $1.00 for a weeks worth but the difference is just one is FDA APPROVED. I guess you take it for 7 to 14 days and BOOM you're done.. I think for now I will just stick to what's working lol.

Re: Charlene (# 187) Expand Referenced Message

Goozer has been helpful in some ways. I think in other ways he's sending a negative message to people. One by how much Buprenorphine is in each 8mg pill. My doctors and pharmacist told me the medication is the same in every pill, but the overage is the filler in the pill. I trust their opinion. Charlene you mentioned you’d never take Mylan or any other brand of Buprenorphine ever again, accept what you're taking. What if you didn’t have a choice? Where I live, I don’t. All the pharmacies here, only carry Actavis brand of Buprenorphine. I sat at home one day and called everyone of them to see if they carried any other brand of Buprenorphine, besides Actavis and they do not. The only problem I have with other brands is it causes my asthma to flare up, but the Mylan brand of Buprenorphine. Otherwise they all seem to work the same way for my pain. The only other difference to me is the taste. My pain doctor put on my prescription every time, Mylan preferred and then Actavis brands of Buprenorphine, because of the patients asthma issues. The pharmacist is aware of it, but it’s out of their control on what brand of Buprenorphine they get in or not get in. If you can find a better place online with your prescription and it won’t run you low on your medication, then you should keep doing it your way. In my case I can’t, because my medication changes so much I can’t do that. My body rejects medications very easily. I hope this was helpful to more readers on this site.

I asked my dr last visit about the sublocade INJECTION..she is not big on it at the moment until she sees and hears good or best results. She said once she were able to do an INJECTION she can not take it back.. I didn't really want it, just curious about it. I like my Rhodes or 411s for now.

Re: Goozer (# 169) Expand Referenced Message

I just wanted to thank you Goozer for all the help you have provided me with information on buprenorphine. Even tho I'm an old time user since 2007. I never used to ever think about comparing one sub to another. Now I pay attention of the importance of this. I always just accepted what bup was given to me. Not anymore the two I most definitely will never take would be #mylan, #2 sun #3 actavis..all 3 of them have the least amount of buprenorphine. And if I'm paying for this expensive medacine I definitely want the most bup for my money. I will stand by Rhodes, hikma,.for they are the best of all time well except for original subutex then teva...its to bad teva is so hard to get. But you made me notice how teva is almost just about made as well as rhodes..I can't remember what even led me to this group but I'm sure glad I found you thx my friend

Re: Goozer (# 181) Expand Referenced Message

What are you a pharmacist? Goozer it seems to all your doing is contradicting everything I’m saying on here. All I’m doing is trying to be as positive as I can be for other people, who are inquiring about the generic forms of Buprenorphine. Who cares about how much difference there is in (mgs) in the in each Buprenorphine pill. As long as it works for that particular person, then don’t say it’s a negative. You say its better because it has more (mgs) of Buprenorphine in it than others. Maybe those other brands may have more of Buprenorphine in it, but it can also be too much for that perons body. People are on here to find out where they can get certain brands of Buprenorphine, not about how many (mgs) are in each pill, what color, and what it looks like. As I said, Mylan works for me and also because it’s the only one that doesn’t cause my asthma to flare up. The other least one, is the Actavis. The different between those 2 to me, is the shape and taste. I don’t care about how many (mgs) are in the pill, as long as it is working for my severe pain because of EDS type 1. Look that up if so you understand where I’m coming from. I’m sorry to be this way towards you, but you are swaying people in the wrong direction on here. They want to know where they can get the generic brand of Buprenorphine they are prescribed, instead of going on another generic brand. The bottom line, some of these manufacturers don’t have release dates on when they will have the generic form of Buprenorphine available for the pharmacies. Now, when I looked at the Teva brand of Buprenorphine again, Its oval shaped, orange, with a 156 imprinted on it and a half moon on the other side of the pill. I don’t know where you are seeing the white color Teva Buprenorphine. When I look it up on their site, I get the orange color as I described. If I’m wrong, ok. I would check with your local pharmacy because there are different colors of certain pills in different pharmacies. One for example, Walgreens carries, Norcor the 325/10 and the pill is oval-rounded at the ends and white, at other pharmacies it’s oval-pointed and yellow. It’s the dye the manufacturers put in the pill. Maybe both of us are right. To all who are trying to seek information to find a specific generic brand of Buprenorphine, I’d 1st check with your local pharmacist. Then maybe go to google or to the manufacturers directly and ask them, when they are coming out with their brand, or where you can get it. This is the information on here I feel people need to hear, instead of the difference in so much of (mgs) in the pill. The reason why is because which ever one is available in the pharmacies, is the one we will get no matter what anyway. We have no other choice, if it gets down to it. For me right now, I have a choice of 3 generic forms of Buprenorphine available to me at the pharmacy, I use, where I live. I hope this was more informational for people and leads them in the direction and where you need to go.

Re: Goozer (# 44) Expand Referenced Message

The government is definitely not taking our buprenorphine medication away from us..we are in a opioid crisis now . At the most they are trying to come up with new meds for addiction along with buprenorphine and methadone treatment..I just bumped into an article last week about this topic..I see they have come out with a 5 or 7 day detox process you only have to take this new drug for that length of time and your done..but ya, I'm sure it works and is a good thing for some. Expeccily for some that can't afford bup treatment can be very expensive to the ones without insurance. I have insurance and rely on my medication dearly. Been on it since 2007 and tried many times to detox off with no luck..I'm older I'm thinking god I'd probably have to take it until I die. When I detoxed off last a short time ago 10 days and that was with a pain management dr helping and I still couldn't do it. I guess I'm here to stay. I'm happy with my Rhodes or 411s either one is good..

Re: Tara (# 162) Expand Referenced Message

Hi tara, I was very happy to help you out. I had to go to Charlotte pharmacy just last night. We stepped outside while we waited and I look across the street and saw winn Dixie, where I told you to go.. out of all my years I never realized they were across from each other .usually my husband drives me and I never pay attention my head a lot is so consumed looking at my phone like most unless your the one driving.. both times going into port Charlotte I kept looking for that one more pharmacy I knew about up there for the 54s. Either I keep missing it or they tore it down putting up a gas station. If that's true kinda a bummer because that would mean one less spot to get them..but the winn Dixie is just a jump over 41 from Charlotte. Now one time that winn Dixie tried to charge me an outrageous amount of money for them I'm thinking IF THAT HAPPENS I'd go back to Charlotte pharmacy and just about beg for em. He has always been good to me even to come out behind the desk says to take a break and chat. He has made alot of money off me over the years. It's so nice to chat with you, stay in touch and let me know what happens. I will do the same.

Re: Comments Submitted (# 175) Expand Referenced Message

Great feedback guys, thanks. Tina mylan actual has the least bup in it out of all generics. It has 8.624 when all others are 8.64 which is more. That's great mylan works for you I also weigh and half mine. The activas kind of look nothing like teva. Teva is a white oval and thick with imprint a b 799 a crooked b. The activas are the only orange subutex generic and they have a side indent on them like the crescent moon on them. And commenter yes agreed have to have a pharmacist willing to by order from another pharmacy who has them most pharmacists do not like doing so but I have had it done. And some big chain pharmacists are willing to work with orders if you call in and know what you're talking about and have provided ndc and know your s***. Also they need to hear aggressive confidence do even nudge. Also I agree that the greenstone alprazolam are the best they are identical to brand in everyway but imprint and minor shape. Also the g 258 are sandoz 1mg generics the greenstone 1mg generic is imprinted g3721 and the 2mg imprinted g3722. I will have to try mylan one day but rhodes and teva would be only generic I will take for bup and greenstone for alprazolam.

Re: Goozer (# 137) Expand Referenced Message

Teva brand of subutex (Buprenorphine) looks just like the Actavis brand. It’s a orange oval shaped pill. The reason why it’s not talked about that much is because, it’s not available on the market for our pharmacies in the US. My pain doctor mentioned this to me because of the reactions I’ve had to the different brands of generic Buprenorphine. Mylan does work for me, as well as the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine. The WestWard, Hi-Tech and Akron brands didn’t work and they made me wheeze. Mylan is the only one that doesn’t cause me to wheeze. The Mylan brand does have about .5mgs more Buprenorphine in the pill on top of the 8mgs in the pill. I’ve weighed them numerous times, because on some days I don’t take the full 8mgs if I don’t need it. I cut them in half and then I weigh them, so I make sure I’m getting the proper dose. Since the Mylan brand of Buprenorphine doesn’t cause me to wheeze, that’s why I want to be on that on, so I don’t have to be prednisone for the rest of my life. As long as I’m on the Actavis brand of Buprenorphine, I have to stay on the prednisone. You can also call your local pharmacy and ask them the difference between each brand. You can call the pharmaceutical companies directly or google them to see if you find any information about what your looking for. I hope this information has helped. The difference with the amount of Buprenorphine is in the pill isn’t that much. As long as that strength works for that specific person, what the difference in how much Buprenorphine is in thempill? You have to remember not everybody has the same reaction to medication as you. A lot of people bodies are very sensitive to medications. Like my body and rejects a lot of them. I would just say how well the medication works for you. Then give advice on how it works for you and it may not work for the person seeking answers, just like you are Goozer. We need to be as positive as we can on these sites, so people do get the right information that they are looking for and not the negative.

Re: Goozer (# 171) Expand Referenced Message

This is so cool.. great new to compare teva with Rhodes only one ingredient is different so they are a very close drug. Like a sister sister to teva, Rhodes. Because teva was the best generic then it faded and new ones came out...so # 1 original version subutex, #2 Teva, #3 would have been old Roxanne now hikma, and now #4 would be Rhodes. And the rest are junk in my eyes...after all the junk generics that followed I'm I'm suprised they didn't come out with a close generic to subutex. It took them this long to finally get a new good one out for us...ya know we need this medicine and they keep messing around with inactivity ingredients that mess with each one differently. On top of that some pharmacies seem to look down on us like a junkie still. Even when I'm ready for my refill I get this anxiety from It. And I know that I shouldn't. I understand if your trying to get alittle bit early for the refill they turn you down come back in 3 days. I've done this before run out of pills early. A few times I was open with my doctor and he just wrote fill early . Gosh even to this day I go get my refill I should have done it yesterday but I was lazy. It's a deff. To day and I feel anxious

Re: Bobby (# 173) Expand Referenced Message

I like everyone else had to put a lot of time in by calling and doing leg work to get the new Rhodes. I found out you will never have much luck with big chain Pharmacies to order what one might ask for..in my area anyways. It seems if I called one Walgreens or CVS or publix to Walmart each one carries a certain brand and will not budge to charge just for one person. They are going to keep on ordering what their usual is for now..I'm in southwest Florida and at first someone' said if you have a prime pharmacy in your area they have it..humm so i found one and yes it's the only one they carry. I was so excited. Now it happened to be up by the panhandle of Florida a good days drive..I asked can they mail order it to me. If my dr sends you my script? They said yes....I was shaking with excitement until they told me all I have to do is drive up there and show them my drivers license...well damn I can't do that. So I continued my hunt..with luck at my normal mom n pop pharmacy the next day they had them in...so I've been able to get them...they even called me to thank me about telling them before I went in I had the NFC number along with the phone number..ya, ok they thanked me for the info. So now I'm told that's all they will carry.

Now this is my pharmacy I always have gone to and got the hikma 54s from so that's kinda of a bummer in a way. I sorta was hoping to have an option once in a while. Now I will always choose Rhodes but a friend of mine likes the hikma better and she uses the Same pharmacy and cannot get get them their anymore so I feel bad. I don't really know the girl well only through these blogs.. so I helped her find the hikma brand in our area..its just one of them charges alot more for hikma brand and she pays cash like most and I have state insurance for S.S any my co-pay is only $45 for a months script it doesn't matter if I get 120 pills or 60..no matter what its always the same.. I feel badly even admitting that because most others pay cash price for this expensive medicine. Man I used to not have insurance back in the day starting buprenorphine treatment for 120 pills I was paying close to 700 a month maxing out credit cards forever..back them if you could find help to pay for them it was rare to get any help paying. Then buprenorphine treatment started to get more popular and the state started offering help..I never qualified for it because my husband works for the city of north port. And they said he made to much money for the state to help..well then now for about the past 8 years I got SSD it's not great insurance but its insurance..back when I start bup..damn my pain pills and dr visit where very affordable compared to bup treatment. But in the end of my addiction the pills were doing nothing for me other than keeping me from being dope sick......

I now use kratom, it helps so much with energy and well being. I bumped into it a few years ago..I took to many of my pills or threw a few to a friend in need it made me short at the end of the month so i ordered kratom from a reputable vendor. I had alot of doubts but it definitely kept me out of withdrawals. I couldn't believe it but yes it true. So I stand by this plant. The government wants to ban it saying it's an opioid..humm no fricken way. Actually the age group of people fighting to keep this legal is older somewhat my age and older but its just a plant just like they took our marijuana plant from us. It's big pharma who doesn't want to loose money and they also see potential for possible use in big pharma hands..and kratom is a very good tool for detoxing. It has so many different ways to make one feel better..oh god knows what I'm thinking talking about kratom..I guess it's on my mind the FDA will soon announce banning it or not?? Hey thx for reading. I maybe have no knowledge of what led me to this topic. I guess because both our bup and this plant are useful for people.
