Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 50)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

If you can get the ones with b 799 on them I will gladly drive to your town and kiss your behind on the biggest street in your town and give you 20 minutes to draw your crowd because the only way to order them is from an international pharmacy and no pharmacist will do that due to FDA regulations on the Pharmaceuticals coming from overseas. That comes from my uncle who is a pharmacist that has had a pharmacist license held for 23 years and still going strong as one of the biggest mom-and-pop pharmacies in the 10 surrounding counties where I live in and Middle East Georgia people drive 75 miles + just to come to his pharmacy to get special orders and compound medications like Fentanyl lollipops and Fentanyl cough suppressant syrup for pain medicine for people that can't swallow pills. It's amazing the medications that he gets that other pharmacies tell you cannot be gotten.

If they still make them where you live it's got to be a certain distributor because my uncle owns the biggest mom and pop chain pharmacy in the surrounding 10 counties. People drive 75 miles just to get there legit scripts filled and he said the only way that he can get the ones with B 799 on them white tablets is ordering from an international pharmacy which is an overseas pharmacy and he does not like to do that because their product is not the same and too many FDA regulations.

Greenstone hands down, G258, it's a funny looking g but they're the strongest and are a bit more pricey but you get what you pay for. Really sharp edges on them and do not just melt like other brands.

Try a rite aid or a grocery store pharmacy and tell the pharmacist that you have an adverse reaction to the fullest in the other brands and the Rhodes - Purdue brand does not. They have a obligation or duty as a pharmacist to assist you in your medical needs just as your doctor does and if they don't and you can buy yourself enough time ask your doctor to write on the prescription the name brand of a generic that you need and they have no choice.

I have been dying to try the Rhodes purdue! I hate all the other generics available right now other than the Roxanne westward which were always my back up okay brand back years ago and are a little less effective now. I've tried every brand except the purdue. Unfortunately the other brands are garbage. Hi tech I got right when they cane out in 2011 and I hated them but got stuck with them 2 other times.. way underdosed garbage. Sun pharma is kinda new but I got them 2 times not by my choosing but they are again underdosed and very low quality almost not even the same drug. I felt sick all month on sun. I used the real teva generic before it was discontinued years ago and it was almost as good as the brand name! It was my favorite generic. I wish it was still around but as teva told me (it was not a high priority medication for us). Then one month I got a surprise and was stuck with mylans brand. It was all filler with little Buprenorphine in it. Again as always with mylan I was extremely disappointed. I was having withdrawal symptoms all month. Mylan makes horrible medications. I tried actavis not long ago because Roxanne was on back order. Actually I was told we can order you Teva and I said wow you can get Teva?!?! Yes please order it, thinking it was the old white pills with a b 799. I was confused because I knew they were no longer around but I thought whatever.

Then I realized Teva owns actavis and that's probably what I was going to find when I went into fill my script. Anyways that's what happened and I hated the orange flavoring because it reminded me of the old Suboxone pills that made me feel so sick before I switched to Subutex. Also talk about alot of fillers these are not bad as far as strength goes but if they just got rid of the flavoring and made the pills more like the old Teva's they could be great. These would probably be my second choice if I couldn't get Roxanne or try Rhodes Purdue. Of course I've been hearing about these rhodes Purdue and I know there a company known for quality products usually so I have been dying to get my hands on these. I've yet to see them anywhere and pictures on the internet are still almost non existent. I'm going to ask the girl at my CVS who orders if she can get them for me when I go in Wednesday to fill this months script. Well see what she says. It's always a stressful time every month when I have to go to CVS a week ahead of time to make sure they have and can still get the roxanne westward brand. Then I have to got in 2 days before and make sure they ordered them and put them aside for me. I've been screwed too many times just showing up on fill day and them not having them or not having enough. This CVS is pretty good to me but I wish I could find a nice mom and pop pharmacy who could and would order Rhodes and or Roxanne and keep them in stock for me every month. I'm a very loyal customer and have several other scripts I fill every month.

Re: Goozer (# 81) Expand Referenced Message

Hey.. I was just browsing. I have been on bupe since 2006, Suboxone for 3 years, then switched to Subutex and used the original Roxanne generic my first fill. I then started getting the brand name which was by far the best! I used that till they discontinued it but I also used teva brand generic occasionally and after as it was the best generic. Teva brand was almost as good as brand name...! It stated going on long term back order all the time in 2013 or so and in 2014 I went on long term back order and never cane off. I contacted teva and they said they discontinued it in 2015 or 2016 and that's when they stated producing the actavis bupe which teva owns. Actavis is not the same as the old Teva bupe which you cannot get anymore. It's just not produced. Sometimes if you ask a pharmacy for the Teva brand they will say yes we have it or can order it, then you get actavis.

the one ingredient that is not the same in Rhodes that is in teva is tri-sodium citrate dyhydrate where tevas has just sodium citrate. all the rest are the same. Rhodes is the same as brand except it does not contain attach maize in it like brand subutex making Rhodes the closest of all generics to brand name.

Re: Comments Submitted (# 163) Expand Referenced Message

They do still make the teva b 799. Yes activas and teva have merged and teva uses activas crescent moon and 153 tablet. They also still make the b 799 tablets from teva so they use both formulations as a teva owned company. I have talked with them recently. They still make teva b 799. Curious enough the ingredients in tevas generic are the exact same in the rhodes generic which is great. Meaning rhodes is best available at the moment. I will be getting the b 799 soon as they make this formulation as well as the orange half moon 153 s but rhodes and teva generics are identical except teva has one ingredient more (sodium citrate) which rhodes does not, possibly making rhodes better than the still produced teva b 799 s which if you want you can still get the b 799 or the teva actavis crescent moon 153 tablets. They offer both still as it's more money for them. But no need to try for teva if rhodes is around as they have the same exact ingredients except teva has an additional filler, blah. Rhodes and teva are the same and best. I will be getting some teva b 799 tablets soon but no need when rhodes has the same ingredients but will keep informed when I do. And yes I am huge into pharmacology and would love to talk more to you about many questions I have. I have always wanted a pharmacist's insider info and questions answered by someone who knows. Please get back to me and yes they make teva b 799. Just call them or google buprenorphine. It is the image they pull up for dispensing, but still please get at me.

Re: Goozer (# 165) Expand Referenced Message

so anyome who believe teva was and is the best but prefers 54 411 over the Rhodes then it is in your head as Rhodes is if not better than teva containing the same ingredients except one small filler. if you think teva is the best which to confirm they still male hard to find though but if you think teva is best them so is Rhodes as same ingredients minus a crappy filler. so when I see 54 411 is better than Rhodes but teva is the best you are wrong Rhodes has same ingredients as teva generic meaning it is definitely better than himka 54 411 Rhodes may now be the best generic ever made. yes they still male the teva b 799 hard to find but no need to because Rhodes is the same ingredients exact making teva and Rhodes the best generics next to brand. also anyone else curious about the new sublocade injection for pain and bup use

Re: Goozer (# 165) Expand Referenced Message

no they do make them still just suoer hard to find but that is good feedback thank you. i did want to confirm after my recent search for teva generic that they are still being made but hard to find and they also have the same inactive ingredients in them as the Rhodes generic except Rhodes does not have sodium citrate in it like the Rhodes does. so the Rhodes and teva are identical in every way except teva contains sodium citrate where Rhodes doesn't but all other eight inactive ingredients are the exact same. so if teva is and was the best then that makes Rhodes equal to tevas generic as the active and inactive ingredients are identical except just the sodium citrate in teva generics so I will keep looking for teva but they are identical to Rhodes except the sodium citrate which is a binder that will not effect much if any. yay this means Rhodes are just as good as the teva b 799 good to know

No actually you may be right. I do not see them on Teva product page. I also have called just a few pharmacies but they have confirmed with me that wholesalers do not have or are not eligible to get this NDC number for the Teva generic so you're probably right but at the same time when you do a search on buprenorphine it pulls that picture up as one of the generics so it's got to be out there somewhere.

The b799 Teva’s would absolutely be the best out of them all. They just dont make them anymore.

Re: Charlene (# 154) Expand Referenced Message

You will not get the real teva b799 subs anymore. Actavis / Sun Pharmaceuticals, the orange one with the moon on them. Bought that company out and changed the formula completely. My uncle is a pharmacist and I can give you any information you want right down to the price of what the pharmacy pays for each generic that comes out on the market. {edited for privacy}

Thank you for the great info. I was worried too because the worker where I normally go has always been honest with me so I started panicking. I don’t get a refill for 3 weeks but I’ll definitely let you know where I go. Your help has been great!!!!!

Re: Charlene (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

Hi again tara, out of the Pharmacy's I told you about you should definitely use the Winn Dixie one..that is where I always gotten mine just up until 3 months ago...the dr. Bumped me up to 3 1/2 to 4 daily. My insurance would not cover that amount so I would have had to come up with the extra cash..that's when I decided to see what and how much Charlotte pharmacy would cost me..winn Dixie has quite a few patients who chooses the hikma so that's why they carry it ..the other on Harborview used to go their before winn Dixie because my doctor is down that road and I would just get my scripts and I would drive their. It's so close I could walk over.now Harborview always carries hikma..forever I used to get my scripts and when it was ready to fill call em up ask if they have any and ask if they were the big white ones? They would always say. That's all we ever had...my very last time I called months ago they had none that how and when I discovered winn dixie..if they tell u over the phone (No). Over the phone next time your in the area drop in person and talk to the head honcho. Like I said I have other places but they are in Englewood or more closer to me and that's getting out of your area. I go to the doc..today and into port Charlotte and punta gorda..I have one more pharmacy in p.c. I just can't think of the name so I'm checking It out today .Il write you soon will the name. And damn i still can't believe Charlotte pharmacy said that..i know there are other places but they were more affordable..i have q pharmacy walking distance from my house called town pharmacy they have subs to and they are very affordable the only reason why I don't use them is.. because of my insurance they said they don't make much money off my subs. They said they loose money from me. I have just out right paid cash a few times and they were $3.25 a pill..

Check this out. This was earlier when there were only brand name Roxanne and Teva and states a lot of people disliked Teva and were very small like a tic tac. Check it out...

Re: ManwithnoPlan (# 150) Expand Referenced Message

wow that is a lot. i have someone who got a bottle of Rhodes to them rx and the pharmacy gave the real Rhodes bottle and forgot to take the sticker off for her and she informed me the bottle of 30 8mg tabs only cost the pharmacist like $38.00. i have my own insurance and get a great deal but pay quite a bit for my insurance so evens out. four a tab is way to much at least 75 for 30 would be semi fair

Re: Charlene (# 151) Expand Referenced Message

Yes they are still readily available, you just need a pharmacist willing to order stuff for you that you prefer on meds and have a wholesale that carries that maker. So yes they are still dispensed to this day. Weird with actavis owning them, so when asking for the teva's, you will need to confirm the imprint "b 799" or they could accidentally order the actavis as companies are one in the same now, but yes they make them still but I have never tried them.
