Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 14)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: goozer (# 250) Expand Referenced Message

So far the last two doctors I have delt with in my area will not prescribe benzos...so ya, bummed in that area. My new dr I have had for only 3 months now just informed me they are having alot of trouble with the type of insurance I have so either I need to find q new doc real soon or come Oct 1st I can look into making changes with insurance and choose one that there office will accept. So come Monday I will be looking into options..my older dr used to give me xanax 2mg x 4 day ..yes you read that right..along with valium 30 a month..now I loved that quack doctor lol..but he is gone. .it seems nowadays they wary of those meds taking along with buprenorphine... I try to look for old school doctors when I need them they are more likely to give than younger doctors..I will keep you in mind tho, because my hunt is soon to begin

I've had the Rhodes rp p8 for 3 months now an they are the best in the market my uncle is a pharmacist range said the generics are scaled by a grade a b an c generic an most pharmacy will only get the grade c ones because they can make more money off you but have your Dr write Rhodes brand fill only an they will have no choice but to get them for you.

Re: goozer (# 253) Expand Referenced Message

So far I haven't seen any post or links from you yet..but I will keep looking. I was on a different blog page getting info, it's called methadone or buprenorphine on rxchat.com. I was reading then I noticed someone said read this book called Diary of a legal drug dealer; By KL Carson. So I looked for it and it sounds interesting. She was a sales rep from one of the world's wealthiest industries (pharmaceutical companies). She dares to tell the truth behind it all. I watched an interview with her and she also states since our bodies are what 70% water and are supposed to drink she says 8 to 10 bottles a day which a lot of us don't do..some end up getting sick going to the dr. They give us pills that have nasty side effects and really all we needed to do was drink more water...so it sounds interesting. I'm going to order it online tomorrow. Thx goozer.

I just seen on a different group someone stated FDA made it so primarily doctors can no longer prescribe opiates. You need a referral to visit pain management dr. To prescribe..humm I don't know if that's true everywhere or in just some states??. Because her in Florida where I'm from that's not so..I know it for real..I had to get pain pills just a few months ago.and my son gets lotab 10 x 3 day with his muscle relaxers and neither one of us had to do that..we just made an appointment asked for what we were interested in taking and his he had no problem writing out his script or my percocets 10s x 4 daily..

I can't remember if I asked you about this question because I wrote you so many times you might just run from my post but you seem very knowledgeable to me...we also seem to carry a lot of the same interest..on a different rxchat.com group someone stated FDA made it so a primary dr is no longer allowed to write a note for opioids. You need a referral to visit pain management dr...I'm trying to figure out if just in her state because in my area that does not seem true unless this one doc is getting away with it..I'm not at all looking to get him in trouble because I really don't approve of this opioid crisis going on, I'm against it completely...I believe its unfair to others that need pain meds during life not everyone is an addict. And so on..what happened to our free country and since when should our government or insurance companies decide what doctors gave prescribe. They went to college and had an exclusive college bill to still pay for.... everytime I hear of this crisis it just makes me think of how corrupt our government is.

Re: goozer (# 215) Expand Referenced Message

Hi goozer, if you ever make a new medschat post on other topics or whatnot, can you let me know? I know it's out of your way, but I find your writing on this topic very interesting and I think I'm very much like you in some ways. I worked in a hospital side by side with a lot of doctors and nurses. I had to go to a small college to do my job there. Learning abbreviations and how to read the sloppiness how doctors write. Learn how to spell and what medications do what. Turns out I'm an addict to pain pills and I actually did my best testing in that area...I didn't become addicted till many, many years prior to school..just keep me in mind. Thx.

Re: Goozer (# 160) Expand Referenced Message

Wow goozer, I don't know how I overlooked this post of yours saying "size matters" AND SEVERAL UTUBE VIDEOS...remember I told you I write this dr once in a while for answers of sorts?? Well he is the doc I write to. He is also a recovered addict, WAS an anesthesiologist who lost his career due to addiction and became a psychiatrist with his own office. He has tours and give speeches because he is pretty famous. I've seen his name in other articles being an advocate for buprenorphine..small world. lol.

Re: goozer (# 235) Expand Referenced Message

I'm alittle curious about your situation with buprenorphine use?? How or why did it happen that you are on put? At first it came out for only the use for addiction. Now they prescribe it to patients for pain..when you mentioned you wonder if methadone might be better in your situation for pain...I would most definitely have to say yes to it. I know bup covers some pain. Because I have nerve damage that's why I decided to ask the dr..for elavil . But I also told her with the increase she bumped me up in the bup dosage I noticed I dont feel the pain..but my pain is very mild..its just in my facial ares under my skin..I describe it like a bad sunburn that never goes away..and my back used to hurt badly but again probably not like some others..I just dont believe buprenorphine has enough power for real pain...I have looked in my area somewhat for if a dr would prescribe methadone in pill form..so far the answer keeps coming up unknown. Now my sister said she see people at her clinic getting them..but when she speaks of it to me she sounds uncertain. Even tho she says I seen people walk out with to her looks like pulls in a bag, but for some reason I dont believe her. Because I know for a fact she would be trying to get them. Just like she keeps asking for dose increases. Now she swears the pain management dr. She got let go from most definitely gives..he is in my area I just don't know how to go about it..and my interest leads me there because at times I wounder if because I have taken buprenorphine for soo long it should work better than it does for me. I just think at the highest dose possible forever since bup came about did I build up some type of tolerance? Idk..but usually buprenorphine patients don't go to methadone..methadone patients do switch to bup...

Would greatly appreciate the help of you can thank you!

Charlene (# 254) --

Well alot to talk about here but I'm always here for everyone and you. the thing with bup is that it is 40 times stronger than morphine but is only half antagonist which makes this very hard for any bup user to full atangnist pain meds. intake 4 8mg daily which is 32 mg a day. the equivalency of one tablet of bup is like taking a ms contin or oxy 80 tablet and bareky reaching any relief as we have been on bup at its max daily dosage for us to even feel something from pain relief would be near lethal levels of hydromorohone and or fentanyl. so yes being on bup will make it extremely hard for a full atangnist opioid to work past the bup. this is why many like methadone as there is not cut off at 32 mg they can take more and more and get more high as bup once you have taken 4 you get the most of it possible. this is cuz what if you need stronger pain meds well the bup is so hi the tolerance has been weakened in the pain receptors and will certainly make all other pain meds pretty much useless except methadone and lethal levels of fentanyl and hydromorohone. now if we want to stop bup and get on another full lain med it would take bit of time and extra meds to feel the relieve as the bup has dulled the receptors of pain and will require much much more for relief so you are right it's a ceiling effect with the bup the fact that bup is only half agonist it is still 30 times stronger than morphine which isba lot u would need to come off bup and be prescribed very high levels of pain meds to feel anything but then what let the government and Drs run your daily life just to feel pain free no thanks. I've decided bup or methadone is best especially with new opioid laws best to stay on bup

and where im pain meds are still being prescribed I don't see much change and as I know your family dr. can really prescribe you anything you need and want this includes pain pills. just saw someone refill for their oxy 8os. I'm sure it will hit hard on west side soon. and yes my spine has AS and with about 20 issues but always here to talk. live with chronic pain 24 7

Re: Charlene (# 265) Expand Referenced Message

Primary Care Physician doesn’t write prescriptions anymore. If they don’t treat you for the health issue you have, they’ll send you to a pain management clinic. They will prescribe short term for a long term health issue and if you need to be on the medication longer than expected, like me, you have to go to a doctor that is licensed to prescribe all opiates. Not just a few.

Re: Charlene (# 258) Expand Referenced Message

Methadone, can cause you to be opiate dependent. Because it’s in the class of opiates like Norco, OxyContin and such. Subutex and Suboxone are used for addiction. They are also used for pain management. I was on opiate pain medications for 9 years and it never worked as well as the Buprenorphine has. I’m happy with the results of this medication has done for me in the last 9 months. I wish they would’ve put me on Buprenorphine 8 years ago, instead of the opiates.

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

I'm glad you explained that so well to me.... now I would think methadone users getting the dose they are prescribed daily, they too must be somewhat leveled out like we are other than we have that ceiling effect & they don't, but like my sister she gets her 115 mg dose twice, split dose. So they take it in a.m and probably around 8 hours later and that's all they get..because that's all that's prescribed. Unless someone is trying to buy elsewhere. And I don't think that's the case. So I read a different page for info and most users admit at first they felt that comfort of taking opiates but it fades very fast and it turns out like taking something you need like all of us but you build up a normalcy of the drug and you don't keep getting that rush..it goes away..I heard some people say they have a hard time with whatever dose they're on making it around the clock. They are still going daily. They are the first ones there.

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

Oh this is what I was asking,. You said bup has the ceiling effect, that's why some like methadone because they have no cut off like bup, so they can take more and more...but I guess that's only IIF they can get there hands on more,. But I assume most cant get more than a clinic to prescribe to them..unless they found a dr. To give and they abuse there script..and run out short..

Re: Buprenorphine Seeker (# 262) Expand Referenced Message

I'm not sure if this is so, what your saying. To have your dr write on the script " only Rhodes brand"..or any other brand one is looking for, and the pharmacy will have no other choice other than to accept a do..I have tried it and went to my normal pharmacy first, only to be turned down and say I'm sorry we only carry these..try over there, so head over there only to say no we dont carry that..and continue your hunt until you tired or just accept. Now that's been a while so maybe its changed,..and I'm sure if it's a smaller pharmacy that are fermiluar with your business with them..but most all big chains around me they never budge. So I'm just stating what I went through..so definitely dont take my word on that at all..I'm just sharing my story. Thx

Re: Tina (# 273) Expand Referenced Message

Hi tina, yes I know somewhat of methadone because I have two sisters on it. One out of town and my little sister about 15 minutes away. We have had our issues and lost contact until just recently and I found out she is now on methadone so I have been watching utube...googling and learning the lingo of methadone users so I can grasp some of what she speaks about it..I went to another rxchat.com discussion thread on buprenorphine VS methadone and one lady stated it perfectly. She has used both she said she can just about tell what someone is on coming into her clinic just by looking at them. She said a methadone user will sway while talking, and slur their speech, and have a doped up looked about them and more, to whereas a buprenorphine person will usually look clean and well groomed, and carry on a conversation without slurring and nodding out. And again much more. I mean she said it perfectly. I was mentioning it to goozer because well I kinda know I can rant on him like no other. And he seems knowledgeable with an abundance of feedback. That's all. I wasnt interested other than being kinda jealous I guess, it's the way she talked or texts stuff to me comparing her medicine to mine and how high and mighty she is just darn bullheaded about it.

She never caved in..I just sit back and take it in and think you have more polish in you for our entire family lol.. but my husband says her brain is somewhat fried from her drug use. I mean to praise methadone is absolutely crazy..it would be like me bragging how great buprenorphine treatment is...I'm not saying either one is good. Or bad..buprenorphine saved me back in 2005, but I believe I would have done better, now that I know more about to have just detox from what I was on before and believe me it wasn't much I just used to go to pain management back then to get lortab 7.5s. Noting higher did I ask him for, now that I think and know I'm sure he would have given much more I remember him always saying are the lortab still working for you??? Yes I was addicted, but did I really need 4 8mg bups.? No but I took it...I live in Florida the area that the opioid epidemic crisis started they claim. I was always scared to go to this dr. as it was, why I dont know. Little did I know LOTS of doctors all around me were given out oxys like candy..I didn't know how good they were or even what they were. I guess that's a good thing...but this very same dr is still in my area. I actually see him every 3 months my son goes to him for he gets lotab 10s and muscle relaxers from him. My son is on disability and along with his disabilities follows some pain so he gets 3 day.

Re: Tina (# 272) Expand Referenced Message

Tina, I was asking this because of a different medschat group mentioned..my son goes to pain management since june 2018. We asked the doctor pain management for lortab 10 x3 daily along with muscle relaxers baclofen my son is 26 with disability issues. So he lives at home with us, and complains of pain discomfort. I know it's not a great deal of pain cuz I know pain but took him anyways and had no problem getting what I asked for him..the doc just said ok and out the door in 15 minutes. He just has to go every three months for 15 minutes and we are gone again. I never even took him to his health M.D. only this guy..that's why I thought that statement was strange, like I said he gives me 3 scripts for pain meds. And one year's worth of muscle relaxers (baclofen).

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

So goozer, do you think that's why with me when I tried to detox of subs back in june I could not do it or let's say I gave up just 10 days later..I used my old pain management dr. For help hes still in my area. I went in asked him to place me on percocet 10s x 4 daily. Along with baclofen. I had a real difficult time, obviously sick as q dog could eat hardly sleep. I lost 14lbs in the 10 days. That doctor even bumped my gabapentin up to 800mg x3..we went into his office at my request on day 10 my husband had to just about carry me in . The dr looked at me, then him and say I suggested she go back on subs until she is healthy and can try again .. now my husband says if I could have taken 10 a day I could done it. Percocet 10s to me comparing it it subs is like asprin. Idk was it like you say something to do with my receptors not responding to percocet? Because of buprenorphine being so much of a stronger medacine. Hey I'm just get nosey about what I did or didn't do...I'm happy I got back on bup. Because I could tell the pain in my back did not go away. It's been there the whole time just bup covered the pain.and with this crisis going on it's for sure I'm not going to get the pain medacine i did before because on my first visit the doc said very quietly he could only give 3 a day..it happened to be after 4 or 5 days i called him personally asking can we increase the dosage to 4 10s q day..again very quietly he said ok taped me on the back and i left...so i knew right then and there if i can't live off 4 percocet 10s a day..it might be like pulling strings

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

Well see..damn I finally got it. I had to come back to it and read for the 3rd time..and I say my sister has enough polish in her for the whole family, I guess I got a touch of it to..lol. wow thx for all this info. I know it had to take you a good minute to write and explain it to me. What is suprising is that how come when I seen my pain management dr.he shoud have tried to explain it to me..I can see why the percocet 10 did not work now..I mean when I tried my detox plan I was able to take my past sub in the morning and when my husband came home with my script of percocet I was allowed to take at by 4 in the afternoon and the next one when I woke up he allowed me 3 aday. Until I made another appointment begging for a 4th one a day..so even at 4 a day I just couldn't do it. Now I have found my answer...right??.. thx for going out of your way and again helping me out on tip of it this page is about buprenorphine treatment and you still went above and beyond thx friend
