Prolia Side Effects (Page 142)

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

It is in my chart at Urgent Care and emergency as I have had many visits with severe adverse events and I have copies of my clinical notes, test results etc. I am not sure that they would go on their own but if there is merit for any litigation on my issue they will have no choice. I am not concerned about that as much as do I have enough to take action. Will know soon.

I think the proof has to be in the numbers. We have reported to FDA-- how many people can we get to report to FDA? If the FDA and Amgen have consistent large numbers of people reporting problems, it has to eventually weigh against the drug. Is there a way we can determine how many people on this site have reported their side effects to FDA? We can chat with doctors all we want and they can just deny and deny the link to Prolia.

I reported to the FDA last week. I also sent Amgen a not so nice email. No threats, no profanity. Just exactly what I think they've done and what I think of them.

I contacted Amgen Aust about a year ago to report my symptoms and the person to whom I spoke agreed that these could be side effects but that they are very rare, meaning that I shouldn't be attributing them to Prolia. Really?

This seems to be their official line everywhere. "Perhaps it's just your imagination, dearie? No-one else has ever complained." I hope they recorded it formally as an adverse events report.
I think they are about to be swamped with official complaints!

I will sum up the 7 shots of Prolia that I tolerated before it almost killed me, Poison , deadly drug!

I wonder if the FDA has to disclose the statistics on how many people report the multiple side side effects for the drug?

I just read in Save Our Bones that the ( U.S. ) Supreme Court just sided with Merck in a multi party suit regarding fractures caused by Fosamax.
The reasoning was that since the FDA did not require a warning, Merck could not be held responsible! !!!

Then the FDA itself should be required to an issue a warning. You can't just poison people and walk away.

Apparently, the FDA isn't REQUIRED to do anything. I wonder who is in charge of the FDA. Anyone know? It sure would help a lot of people if they were REQUIRED.

I don’t know exactly when the parties in the suit were prescribed Fosamax. I am old enough to remember Thalidomide, and how the FDA swiftly acted and banned it in America while babies in Europe were being born with horrendous deformities. How things have changed ! It has been profits over people for some time, and only getting worse, Still, it seems to me that the ethical thing for the manufacturer to do would have been to warn people. There are other ways to treat and/or prevent osteoporosis besides an injection like Prolia you may be allergic too. I read about the bad side effects and immediately canceled my prescription.

Definitely, there is a more alkaline diet and weight bearing exercise, also Yoga and Pilates.

It is also important to be our own advocate and not allow ourselves to be intimidated .

How long after the prolia was out of your system until the side effects stopped? I'm going through this now. Was given shot 2/6/19. I won't ever take another Prolia shot.

It takes about 6 months to clear the system, but the side effects can last longer.

I can’t agree more. It’s been over 2 years since my last injection and I’m still dealing with some side effects. I’m beginning to accept that they will never go away. I am also thinking that we all could be prone to something in our body that after taking prolia, flairs up and is very difficult to treat. This certainly hasn’t been suggested by any medical person to me, just my own observations. I was prone, as a young child to skin rashes. As I grew older, not so much and certainly NEVER to the extent did I ever have sores etc in my mouth like I do now! Or muscle and joint pain or loss of teeth! This drug has cost me time and also money on dental care, physio, and various other treatments.

I had posted many times about all the problems that I had with the Prolia shots. I stopped them on my own because of the aches and pains in my bones and the daily hair loss that still continues one year after stopping shots. My new doctor now wants me to do a reclass insertion which is done in the hospital and not a shot. There has been no improvement in my bone scans at all, better or worse since I started with Prolia.

I am in agreement with you and Karen. Of course Osteoarthritis didn’t suddenly appear due to Prolia, but until Prolia I had no pain and only slight disfigurement; since Prolia, the pain has been excruciating, my joints, especially wrists, hands, fingers and toes disfigured. My previously well controlled hypothyroidism became uncontrollable.

It only came controlled 6 months ago and my last shot was in 2017. BTW my thyroid came under control when I went gluten free. Within a short time after my first shot I developed hypocalcemia and hyperparathyroidism, both dangerous conditions; yet a foolishly took a second shot. This is so unlike me, but I was scared. I had fractures in my thoracic spine and was afraid of being bent over. Now I am empowered and am taking charge of my bone health. I know I have posted this many times, but I advise everyone to subscribe to Save Our Bones for dietary advice and general info about Big Pharma. Since I am unable to tolerate strenuous exercise I do TTAPP, and Classical Stretch by Miranda Edmonds White.

There is also Yoga for Osteoporosis by Dr Loren Fishman. He is located in New York City for anyone interested in a consultation.
