Please tell me if this white oval S21 pill is good for treating tooth infections? I have a tooth infection. ## Dava Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 500mgs of Penicillin V. It is used to treat, or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. The inactive ingredients are listed as including Inactive Ingredients: lactose magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose povidone sodium lauryl sulfate polyethylene glycol. What is it used for? I forgot. I know I got them from my doctor a while ago, but the bottle broke & I only had about 6 left anyway, so I put them in w/ my other bottle & forgot what they actually are for. I'm thinking it's for a cold? Am I correct? Hello. I have a terrible cough, not dry but very painful when coughing and my throat is itchy. Can i use penicilina pomada on a brown recluse spider bite ## Hi amy, Have you been able to determine if this is in fact the result of a spider bite or are you only assuming this based on the size/condition of the affected area? Reason I ask is because I don't think penicillin will be of any help to you unless the "bite" became infected; and in many cases these "bites" can often be mistaken for a staph infection. Furthermore, the pain and swelling brought on by a spider bite is generally the result of venom and not necessarily an infection, so it may be that need to go see a doctor first who can accurately diagnose the affected area in order to justify the use of an antibiotic with or without further treatment of an anti-venom as well. I am 70 years old and was likely infected by 2 people coughing in a 1 1/2 hr bus ride in Cuba (poor recycled air). I got a sore throat within 24 hr then, laryngitis & cough for last 8 days & saw the ER MD in FL. Told them I am allergic to Penicillin and have Asthma. Can I continue the Rx & can I take Claritin for my allergies (mold, pollen, dust etc)? Is topical Aloe gel ok for a rash since the rash is systemic? Or should I go back to the ER for a different Rx? Is ok to go in Sun w/ spf 50?
