I had a throat infection and chest infection coming on and because I'm travelling I always take some procain penicillin shots with me as they help me recover quickly and faster than the orals. I've used them for about 15 years when I needed to. But this time is life changing and no one understands. I'm hoping there is someone this happened to, to talk to. As soon as I had the shot which was administered into my upper bottom hip area (same spots for years) as soon as pin out I had a rush of blood go through my body to my head, then a ringing sensation in my ears, then felt dizzy and lost all orientation, followed by very very fast heart beats and then loss of breathing. I am away on vac. Three days ago I started feeling tired and when I did anything physical (stairs) I would get a fast heart rate. I started taking Ibuprofen for the head ache. Today the third day I bought took out a bottle of penicillin VK 500 mg tablets I took with me. I am also alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen 6hrs. Took temp. today 39.5 , after talking acetaminophen it has got down 37.5. One he later I took one penicillin vk5 500 mg are tablet. I was given something to counteract what I took when I overdosed and came up with hives. I've been told I now have an allergy to penicillin. Which was 16 years ago. Fifty years ago I was only slightly allergic to penicillin with rash on my butt. Currently, I've been sick with a bug going around for a week and a half now. Almost better except my gland hurts when I swallow and swollen and still slight congestion in my chest. I have 500 mg of Amoxil in my home. Is this okay to take this? It is the weekend and can't get to doctors and I do not want to pay the outrageous fee in urgent care. I also have another question. My husband is taking penicillin for a tooth infection. the dentist gave him a week supply my husband's tooth got worse so he had a old bottle of penicillin (not expired) from the last dentist visit so he continued to take those . his tooth is becoming really swollen with a big white ball ! I was taking penicillin and now I'm having problems with my sinus. It has been a day since I last took the penicillin. I am allergic to sulpha drugs and Penicillin. Can I take Clindamycin HCL for a UTI? ## Has it been prescribed for you? My mom is allergic to penicillin but at the dentist they prescribed her amoxcillin although she let them know that she was allergic to it. Is an M357 pill penicillin or back pain medicine? I looked online and couldn't get a straight answer. ## This tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. I have a throat infection... feels like strep. I have a box of 3, 500mg brand Charyn Azitromicina... i also have a bottle of Zertalin brand azitromicina 500mg (5 pills) They are both azitromicina, just different brands and different qty's. When should use a 3 pack vs a 5 pack? ## Hi Blake, In general, most antibiotics are taken for a course of 7-10 days. I've had a similar upper respiratory infection before and was prescribed penicillin 500mg to take 2-3 times a day for a week or until the script was all used up. So I guess when it comes to a 3 pack vs a 5 pack, maybe what matters is simply having enough to get through a full week? Have you discussed any of this with your prescribing doctor yet? I can take 2 & sometimes 4 depending on how much muscle cramping I'm having. All I do is itch!!!! ## Hi Mike, Are you referring to Penicillin V Potassium?
