Morphine Scared

Hi I'm in serious pain with my broken foot just happened over weekend , anyway my close friend gave me the morphine 15 ABG pills im reading about here , but I am afraid to take one because of the word "morphine" I think . Will anything happen ? I have to take something strong for my foot because the Vicodin hosoital gave me hasn't seemed to help at all . Should I be scared ? My friend told me to chew it , can anything bad happen ?

It will not help. Tell ur Dr u need vicaprofen or oxycodone. I broke my wrist 3 days ago. Ps. Don't chew meds bad idea.

Hi Lucky,

First things first, I would never encourage anyone to take meds from someone else's prescription, because if you do have a bad reaction (god forbid) then you don't have a prescribing doctor to turn to for help. However, you have every right to feel the way you do about taking something as strong as morphine if you've never taken it before. Perhaps the reluctancy you're feeling is a signal from your body that you probably shouldn't go through with it, but that's just my perspective.

Kati is also right though that you shouldn't "chew" these types of pills that are designed to be swallowed whole. No physician in their right mind would tell their patients to chew these, and it seems that those who do are usually irresponsible about how they choose to medicate as it is. Not trying to pass judgment on anyone, but it seems to me that you may have to find a new doctor to get the type of relief you truly need.
