Lyrica As An Addition To My Pain Management

Recently Lyrica has been added to my pain management program. I purchased the drug, but haven't yet began taking it as I am concerned with the side effects listed. Does anyone have recent information about the side effects?

You also need to remember that not everyone experiences all the side effects of a medication.

Thanks Verwon, I don't like the thought of any drug that causes fatigue. I have fibromyalgia along with several other pain problems, fatigue is one of the major battles I fight daily. If Lyrica helps with fibromyalgia pain more than it fatigues, it would be worth it. Seems that all medication says "may cause weight gain", never weight loss LOL Every pound gained makes the pain in my hips, knees and feet worse, so I try not to add to my weight. What concerned me the most is that I read that Lyrica can cause mental issues, such as depression, mood swings, confused mental abilities. If you do experience any of the listed side effects, are they temporary and disappear when you discontinue use, or is there a long term irreversible change in your body chemistry? Do you know how long Lyrica has been on the market and are there any studies of long term use?
