What are ilvitrim tablets used for?

I'm hiv positive and I'm taking,ilvitrim and ferrous fumarate and ascorbic acid!oi get weak everyday n I feel nauseas n dizzy all the time!

Went to the hospital yesterday with chest pain,short breath and my whole body is very very cold. I'm on treatment for a thyroid. It is hyper, so they gave me thyroxine. My surprise is they did xrays which they said it shows nothing wrong on my chest, but they gave Eryko-250,Ilvitrim, Amyn 250& Propranolol 40mg.

Hi, No they have not given him a reason. They just said that they cannot give him 3 months supply of tablets only one month then he must go back to the hospital for further instructions.

Pauline, his level of Creatinine could be up due to the medications, or from several other factors, such as decreased kidney function or dehydration.

Have his doctors said what they believe is causing it?

As to the antibiotic, they are commonly given to HIV patients to prevent possibly infection, because it does cause suppressed immunity, so they can develop infections much easier than someone normally would.

My husband is HIV positive and is taking Lamivudine, Zidovudine,Efavirenz and Ilvitrim. he has been told at the hospital that his creatinine levels are high. He has had a blood test and must go back next month. Do any of these tablets make these levels higher. Also why would he be taking ilvitrim as I believe this is an antibiotic.

Ilvitrim contains the active ingredients Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, it is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. In the U.S. it is commonly prescribed under the brand name Bactrim.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and non-allergic skin rash.
