I Was Just In A Car Accident In Hospital Took 2 Subs

I I took 2 subutex this morning I was in a car accident and have 2 stay in the hospital overnight they put a 25mg. Fentenal patch on my back and I told them I have been taking subutex for 6 year's everyday? I'm I going to get sick? They say it's fIne? Say what? Not what I was told. Please help me NOW!!

Its all good man.sebutex doesnt have the ingediant tht will cause you to get sick if you take a pain killer

Hey what's up? First off don't listen to anyone (whether they are somewhat correct or not) who mispells the name of a medication so bad it literally doesn't sound remotely close to what you mentioned and looks like another word..the ingredient he/she is referring to is naloxone (which is only in SUBOXONE AND NOT SUBUTEX and binds to receptors that BLOCK the "high" from any PK whether a 5mg perc or other opiates..you WILL NOT GO INTO PRECIPITATED WITHDRAWAL'S if you take opiates AFTER either suboxone or subutex... If suboxone then all that will happen is you wont feel the effects of opiates if they are taken after the suboxone. You WILL go into withdrawal if you take suboxone too soon after your last dose of an opiate. Everyone is different..to be safe they say to wait until you start feeling sick aka "withdrawals" roughly 12-24 hrs after last opiate use but like i said everyones body makeup and chemistry is diff and i was able to take suboxone just 7/8 hours after any amount of opiate dosage and feel fine without ever dealing with pre-cipitated wd's from taking it too soon. Not telling anyone to try that bc it may not work for them. After taking Subutex, you can still actually take pain meds and still feel relief. So,don't worry about that happening.I know I explained way more than u asked and still could go on forever so more than just your ? Will b answered bc a lot of people will see this so I'm sorry lol just want to mention couple more things then be gone.. just remember THAT WITH SUBOXONE u will only go into wd's if its taken TOO SOON..AFTER your LAST OPIATE USE. Not the other way around so hopefully people that think that see this reply and know that you can take pain meds after suboxone but they will not do anything for you..until enough time has gone by, taking suboxone too Soon after taking pain meds is when you have to worry about knowing your body so you don't put yourself in withdrawal. Lastly I saw two ?'s before reading this and someone said they've been on percocet 10mg since 1993 and all of a sudden stopped working? And what u should do to get relief again? That's 22-23 years..no way would a few 10mg pills a day along with another narcotic pk work for that long without ever changing dose then out of the blue completely stop working.... They are a weak painkiller with acetaminophen in them which is terrible for liver, kidneys everything if used multiple times daily for over 2 decades...if its for nerve pain, try a non narcotic like Neurontin (non habit forming) I take it it works great and I had a 3 level spinal fusion a year ago... And maybe an anti inflammatory/muscle relaxant like flexeril daily to help reduce excess compression on certain nerves so u don't get those pains...if its sciatica,your back or neck where nerve pain is...look into Physical therapy (you'd be surprised what a few months can do just 2 days a week) def get an MRI, CT scan, x-rays and if its really bad and they say they don't see anything major then make sure they inj. a special dye that picks up the source of the nerve pain n will b worth it in the end... I couldn't stand n was stranded in knees alone in house in such pain I was in same spot on floor with head in couch for a week with the fridge 20 ft away n my cell n couldn't even make it to either.so starved n phone rang so much it died 1st day..luckily a co worker cane to house and called 911 n kicked door in...lol ...then came 3 months in hospital.. Don't let it get that bad.. Fix if possible n get off the opiates after healed up n no more pain...sorry man..crap just kept flowing.. Hope ur OK from accident... Mentally as well.

Thank you for sharing all that information with me! No I'm not the best speller in the world but I see what you are saying. I was so scared I took it off and the Dr. Got so mad at me they told me it was absolutely fine to keep taking both subutex and the fentenal 25mg. Patch? I just took put my first patch on after the accident I choose to stop the subutex because of all the horror stories I've heard. My pain is at a full on 9 at 1:15pm. 1/2/16 patch on for 2 hour's so far.. They told me I should put 2 on at a time due to high tolerance from subutex? I'm so confused at this point? Thank you all for getting back to me I really appreciate it.

Hi Dawn, Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think one reason why they might've wanted you to put on two of the fentanyl patches is because it may take an extra fentanyl patch to overcome buprenorphine's high affinity towards blocking our opioid receptors. This is just my understanding of how it works from reading other threads here. Nevertheless, I still think it would be best to have your doctor explain his/her reasoning for recommending the 2 patches in more detail. That way there's total clarification of what you should take, how it should be taken, as well as how long it should be taken for... Hope you're doing well~
