Does anyone have any remedies to get over the side effects of Flagyl or does anyone know of a Doctor that acknowledges the side effects?

If you have stopped taking the drug, they will eventually go away on their own. I am sorry you are feeling miserable, but adding more drugs/treatments may just add more side effects.

Please post back and let us know how you are doing!

I had an IV course of Flagyl in the hospital for 5 days for UC, and another week of it in pill form at home. I quit the drug 2 days ago and I am still dizzy and a bit disoriented and fatigue easily. My UC symptoms are completely gone, but I just can't shake this dizzy, disoriented feeling. Does anyone know how long this will last and is there a quick way to get it out of my system. I need to return to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off and I'm still having a hard time focusing and concentrating. I tried to drive a short distance this morning and it was very difficult. My eyes seem slow to catch up with my head when I turn it.

I have no remedy to offer. I am looking for answers, also.
I stopped the drug 5 days ago and am having great fatigue, dizziness, and depression. I do not want to do anything. I move in slo-mo, when I move at all. I sleep a whole lot. It tires me to hold a bowl to eat, which I REALLY don't care whether I do or not--just know I must.
If anyone has any idea how long these side effects will last, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I had severe pain from a diverticulitis attack and am taking a generic form of Flagyl. I have been taking it with DanActive to increase my probiotic intake. Yogurt helps and definitely eat when taking the medicine. I usually experience side effects from most medication but am only having minor effects this time.

We have found a source of a very good probiotic (much better than yoghurt) fermented over 5 years & containing 12 different strains of lactic acid bacteria, vitamins, mineral, organic acids & amino acids. The short term flatulence over the first 2 mths was not as bad as all the health problems we had been experiencing. This product not only helped us to recover from strong antibiotics but cleared up other medical problems. I strongly recommend you research Dr Ohhira's OM-X Probiotics on the web for further information

I am allergic to keeflex, durocef, nitrofurantoin & morphine. I have been prescribed flagyl for a bacterial infection. Is it safe to take with my allergies?

I took Flagyl for an infection which cleared up but then I got it again. Can I take the Flagyl that's left instead of going back to the doctor?
