Does any one know where in SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA I can get my prescription for oxycontin 80mg filled? Unfortunantly every walgreens or safeway pharmacy that I have been to no longer carry the gereric brand (OC) only the new brand(OP) which is horrible. Please help me find somewhere that possibly have back stock of the OC generic version.

You should try opana 40 mg, works great for me. I get the opana 40's, dilaudid 8mg, and i still have a bunch of the old 80's oc. Contact me if you want......post a reply and it will notify me by email...thx

i live in dade county florida i have been to several walgreens in north dade and no store has the 30mg

Hello Michael, I am in the same boat as Denise. I've dealt with digenerative disc disease for several years and never had a problem filling my OC script until recently. I do feel the same about the new formula. Have you found anywhere that is backstocked?

No,unfortunately I haven't been able 2find them at all!! I've been nearly all over the city and south city with absolutely no luck whatsoever.

The Oxycontin with the OC marking was not a generic, that was the name brand manufactured by Purdue Pharma and the reason you are having trouble finding it is because they have stopped manufacturing it and have replaced it with the new formulation that has the OP marking.

Pharmacies were able to sell the original, until their stock ran out, then they had to switch to the new formulation.

Many people are having problems with the new formulation, there have been reports that it doesn't work as well and that it causes odd side effects. However, the only thing I can suggest is that you speak to your doctor about possibly trying an alternative medication.

Another time release narcotic that is on the market for pain relief is MS Contin, it contains the active ingredient Morphine and is available as both a generic and a name brand.
