What I have read online it is not an opioid until it is metabolized by the body and once broken down becomes one.
I guess my question would be that I am on norco and tramadol for multiple surgeries. So, do they show up as just an opiate in the same group or seperate from one another? Yes, before getting accused, I have scripts for them. Thx

Yes I been taking them 4 years when they used to claim non- narcotic I always knew they musta been a synthetic opioid they cut down effect of heroin withdrawal they show if they send in the test for analysis .

If you live in Canada, it does NOT show up. I operate The worlds largest vehicles and as an operator of such expensive equipment we are all tested before employment and after ANY incident . I assure all of you living in Canada , it does NOT show up as an opioid. Please do your research and CALL the drug maker.

I take tramadol 4 times a day as prescribed by the doctor. That's the only drug period I take. I had to take a urine drug test today and the tramadol did not show up on the urine test at the doctors office but methadone did. I have never in my life take methadone or heroine. I've read a ton of stuff showing that a lot of people taking tramadol are be accused of taking narcotic when they aren't because the tramadol is causing the test to show false positives. And the bad part is, it doesn't seem like any of the doctors are aware that tramadol is causing the false positive test. Even the drug company making tramadol said 4 out of 10 people will have a false positive test when taking tramadol. Looks like the doctors and nurses need to be updated on this problem.

I have kids and yep your absolutely right ur pills could end up in the hands of one of my kids.u honestly think someone should help you with something after that comment! My 85 yo mother sometimes forgets she takes her 5 mg oxycodone before bed. She sometimes wakes almost unconscious and takes another which causes her to run out before her appt at the pain center. She lives alone and have tried several ways of avoiding this situation. None have seemed to work. I tried leaving her with her pm dose and am dose only bit she claims she wakes up in extreme pain and takes another.
We were honest with her pain doctor and he has upped her dosage to 10 mg. This seems to be working so far.
However she had in the past tested negative for oxycodone and we found that honest worked best for her at the Dr's office.

I go to a methadone clinic and just took a rapid urine screen. I tested positive for opiates and took 100mg of Tramadol last night. So if they test for it, yes it does show up.
