Yes they will let u be on suboxone maintenance. But when they initially test u make sure they know u are on them and explain that you are an opiate addict and have been trying to get yourself off of opiates with suboxone. I went to my sub dr clean from opiates and on suboxone. I told him that but he didn’t write the script out test for suboxone. So when I came back in he said there were no drugs in my system. I asked him if he tested it for subs he said no. I told him I’d be back in a few min and I was going to go cop. Lol anyway he told me not to and let it go. Long story short they don’t test for subs initially since it’s a medication to get off opiates. If you are taking them already make sure you tell the doctor to add it to the test. If you already have opiates in your system then don’t worry about it because in the initial test that is really the only thing they are looking for. And unless specified the lab doesn’t test for suboxone.

I have a physical this Friday for a new job. I am prescribed subutex. I just want to know if I should try and get clean for the drug test and not let them know I am on subutex or tell them I am on it and give them my prescription papers? I don't know if they test for it or not, but it is a pretty big company and I have to go to a health department to take my test.

I took a quarter of a subutex on Wednesday and took a urine drug screen on Tuesday, and they sent it to a lab. Will it be detected?

If u tell a doc that u have been buying them and taking them then your body's become dependant on them. The doc will prescribe them because your being truthful. They urine and blood test most...if your going to that type of doctor they know u need help but Suboxone is very expensive unlike Subutex. Tell him or her u were taking Subutex. Believe me, u will thank me later. They don't like to switch your meds but strips at the pharmacy are 26$ for 2, unlike Subutex which are 2 for 7$ and are both 8 milligram.
