Not for employment drug screens!!!! If the judge gives you a test of course it's going to test for subs!!! So it actually DOES NOT show up on an EMPLOYMENT drug screening.

Yes it will show up as an opiate!!!!! I repeat it will show up on a urine test!! I am living proof. I thought it wouldn't either. It's what i have always been told. The judge gave me a drug test and I FAILED FOR OPIATES !!!!! I don't care how smart everyone thinks they are that says you have to test directly for bupe's or subs. The test they give now is ALL covered under opiates. The judge was going to sentence me to 3 1/2 years in the Department of Corrections!!! he gave me 30-45 days to get myself off of Suboxone and Subutex. Please take my advice!! I beg of you because your freedom is not worth losing over someone who thinks they are so educated in this matter and they are ALL WRONG!!!!!!

It really depends on what the place is looking for; While there is a Buperenorphine (Suboxone) specific drug test, not many places use it. According to my research, most places don't drug test for Suboxone at all. This is not to say that it will never show up, but it is unlikely.

If you do think you are at risk for it showing up, I would suggest informing them that you are on it, under a doctor's care. But from the majority of information i've read on the subject, you shouldn't be too concerned about it even showing up.

The half-life of Suboxone is anywhere between 24-72 hours; so I would suggest giving yourself a week or longer if you think you are going to be testing "specifically" for Suboxone. I know this isn't a 100% direct answer, but I hope it helps!

No it will not show up as an opiate. There is a specific test for bupenorphine that will show subs(subutex and/or suboxone) present in your system.

I am on probation, and in an out patient rehab program. I have has my prescription to Suboxone (Buprenorphine) for 3 months now. When i started out patient my urine tox's were being sent to a place called "MED LAB" because I had no insurance at the time and it was a lower cost substitute for member of this out patient program. Now that I have insurance my urine tox's are being sent to "QUEST DIAGNOSTICS". The first urine tox to go to QUEST comes back positive for BUPRENORPHINE (Suboxone) and MORPHINE?!?! None of my tests from MEDLAB have had this positive read. I swear on my kids I have taken nothing but my prescription since 9/16/13. My PO (Probation Officer), Rehab Counselor, & Suboxone Dr. all don't believe me. My research has shown that Beprenorphine is a derivative of Morphine (*definition of derivative - "A substance that can be made form another substance.") it is a derivative of the akalaid thebain which has a near identicle chemical structure to Morphine. (***If you google similarties of Morphine to Buprenorphine you will see all the things I'm referencing***)

I just can't imgaine I'm the first person this has ever happened to....DOESN"T ANYONE BELIEVE ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I took an 8th of a sub yesterday morning i have a dr appointment tomorrow morn curious on if it will show up. If it shows as opiate I'm fine if not I'm not so fine. Please help. I shouldn't have taken the subutex but I ran out of my pain Med by helping someone out BIG LESSON LEARNED but now I'm freaking out bc I don't want the subutex to show up.

No it will not show up unless they test for that specific opiate. I been on probation an been on subutex for a year.. I did 6 random drug screens an I passed my drug test every time.

iv been on subutex for five yrs now and even my doc told me that it will not show up unless they test for it so noot sure what some people are say that it will show up there wrong

I believe you! My urine tox screen at the hospital came back positive for Morphine and all i had taken was one subutex approx. a day prior! It all makes sense now, thanks to your post! I lost my baby because everyone assumed i was on Heroin! Sub takers BEWARE! Good luck!

Some not all you people have no clue what you are talking about. I'm on state probation they test for suboxne subutex and all things you can imagine. You ain't got a scrip you're f***ed cause they watch you pee. I'm violated from it and it didn't leave my system for 14 days. So either get a script or face the the time your choice good luck. Oh and call a freaking probation officer to confirm or your local doctor pain etc... You need to wake up .

so the subutex alone will show up on a drug test given by a probation officer. cuz I'm not on suboxin just the subutex.

Yes if they choose the main panel test which happens to be cheaper than the separate tests. Subutex and suboxone are made up of Buphenorphine so it will show up in this test by oral eze

The same thing happened to me. I'm on Subutex and took a test and it came back positive for opiates. A week later same thing. So finally we called the pharmacy and they said it can cross over it's not common but possible. So there's your answer. It depends on your height, weight and if you have any medical problems.

If its a court mandated test yes they will probably look for it. but if you just going to the doctor to get on the subs they're going to be looking for other opiates like Heroin or pain killers or something along those lines. and if it is just the doctor do to test you can't go to jail or get in trouble you just going to be Denied The script

I'm pretty sure subutex doesn't have bupenephrine in it but suboxone does so I'm a little confused as of to y ne one would say it will show up as bupenephrin

No it will not, it won't show up at all unless they specifically check for it. It shows up as butran
