doctor has prescribe monocef 200 mg for fever but the medical shop gave me mahacef 200 mg and says that both are same. I suffer from throat infection frequently and my family phsysian prescribe ZIFI 200 twice daily for 5 days. To cure fully, is this dose sufficient ? ## That is the standard dose for this medication, although it can be used in a dose of 400mgs, as well. However, there is no way to know if it will clear up the infection, until you actually try it. Some medications work well for some people and some don't. Hi. I have already taken antibiotics (cefixime 200 mg) for 5 days for a respiratory infection, but it hasn't cured my cough and cold. Another doctor has recommended me a second dose of antibiotics to take after 8 days of completion of my first dose. Well the second doctor wasn't aware that I already had one course. Should I continue with the second round of antibiotics?
