My partner is on a buprenorphine detox. He gets regular drug tests and passes. Yet i swear he's taking something. His eyes r pinned his breathing is slow and heavy. Yet he is only taking 2x400 microgrammes of buprenorphine. Help. Thank u ## What can he be taking that wouldn't show up on a drug test. ## If his eyes are pinned he is definitely taking opiates. I'm a recovering heroin addict and have been on bupe before and no matter what dose you take, you don't feel high or look high. A person on bupe should look perfectly normal with normal size pupils, open eyes and normal behavior. ## There are tons of designer opioids he could be taking mostly derivatives of fentanyl that would not be detected unless specifically tested for. There are literally 1000's of derivative...

Is it safe for me to administer clavaseptin, an antibiotic, and buprenorphine, a pain killer, to my male cat? He's got a burst access on his inner leg. I don't want to play Vet, but I feel it should be okay. Thanks ## No do not give your cat your drugs. Sometimes there's no difference in antibiotics, but no pain drugs. Keep the drained area clean and dry, polymycin powder is good to put on it. A slightly diluted betadine solution should be fine for washing it if necessary. I repeat, do not give your cat your narcotic drugs. You can kill the animal with some of them. ## NO - pain meds for your cat can easily be fatal. I'm not up to date with antibiotics. Good luck.

Hi, I've been taking about 1 mg of buprenorphine for about 4 years now. I've recently received my notice to take a medical test for the Australian immigration process, including urinating for a drug test. Can anyone tell me for sure whether or not they test for buprenorphine as well? Please help me, I'm dying of stress. ## Methadone and subutex aren't real opiates like heroin or morphine. I could be wrong but if they test for opiates then you'd be fine. Subuxone-subutex isn't real morphine. Don't take my word on this but that's what I think. Hope someone with more intelligence comes soon.

My son just called me from the hospital. He said they're giving him narcotic pain medication through his IV that starts with the letter B. ## It could possibly be Buprenorphine, it is an opiate that is also used to treat drug addiction, but helps with pain for some people. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Another possibility is Butorphanol, it carries the same risk and causes the same side effects. Can he ask them what they are giving him?

I have been on buprenorphine for 5 years. I have upcoming surgery so both of my doctors want me to stay on percocets that my doctor prescribed. I don't like how it makes me feel anymore and want to go back on my sub. I have only been taking the percs for one week. How long should I wait before I take a sub without getting sick? Thanks to anyone who might respond! ## The procedure is really the same as when you first started it, you have to be in full withdrawal. Otherwise, you may go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, which could include seizures, according to FDA reports. However, it may not be safe for you to switch back, before surgery, so it is best to follow the instructions you have been provided. When will you be having the surgery?

The best possible thing you could ever do for yourself is to reduce and stop taking these as fast as possible. I was fortunate to have the time off of work to do this after 2 surgeries. I was on buprenorphine for several years. I grew tired of being a slave to this medicine and reduced to 2 mgs. Per day. Then I quit taking them completely. I will admit, it is hell for 3 weeks. Then 4th week was not so fun either but, you will start to notice how much better you gradually feel. Since the 1/2 life of buprenorphine is 12 hours vs. Oxycodone being 4 hours. It takes roughly 4 weeks to rid your body of this DEVIL. Its very rough to get through, some days you just feel like giving up, especially after the 1st week! I shouldnt have lived through my bodies toxicicity of infection when my bowel r...

"NPs and PAs who complete the required training and seek to prescribe buprenorphine for up to 30 patients will be able to apply to do so beginning in early 2017. Previously, only physicians could prescribe buprenorphine. Once NP's and PA's receive their waiver they can begin prescribing buprenorphine immediately." hhs.gov/about/news/2016/11/16/additional-steps-expand-opioid-treatment.html ## I saw that they are now able to do the training to be able to write for Buprenorphine. Where I live, we have the option of 2 or 3 Buprenorphine doctors that are all 30+ miles away. I live in a small town that is absolutely consumed with drugs, nearly everyone here is on some type of opiate and there simply aren't enough spots in the treatment facilities for all of these people. I...

I just transferred to the Louisville area from clearwater Florida. I have been taking buprenorphine for a couple years and it helps me to function in my job. I have disc degeneration in my back and this medication keeps me able to move in order to perform my job. I have been prescribed 30 8mg SL tablets per month from a renowned Heart Dr in Clearwater to keep me functioning. Who can I go to in the Louisville area that will help me with this?

I took 4mgs then 45min later took another 8mg. Should I take more? I don't feel worse but don't feel any better. ## Hello, Dave! How are you? How much has your doctor instructed you to take? The dosage of this medication should be calibrated according to how much of the relevant drug a person was taking, before starting treatment. The U.S. FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. ## If it was you're first day of subutex/suboxone treatment then no, taking more won't help. in fact it could make you're withdrawals worse... when initiating subutex treatment the patient needs to slowly build up the amount in their system i.e.; 2mg, 4mg, 6mg, 8mg, then remain on wh...

I just moved out of state after a life altering accident. I have been on buprenorphine treatment, clean for over 3yrs. I'm unsure of what direction to go, pain management, methadone, etc. If it wasn't for getting hurt, I would be off the stuff or at least at a low dose! I hate the fact that I'm unable to talk for 3-5hrs a day...It's frustrating, especially with two kids and having to work my talking schedule around my med schedule! Anyone have any suggestions, advice? ## I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand, what prevents you from talking for several hours a day? Or did you mean something else and autocorrect just had fun with you? If you've had addiction problems in the past, most doctors are going to be very reluctant to prescribe you potent medications for...

Im switching from Saboxone to this Suvutex I wanted information ## Those two drugs are similar, both have Buprenorphine as an active chemical. The difference is that Suboxone contains buprenorphine hydrochloride and naloxone hydrochloride, whereas Subutex just has the buprenorphine hydrochloride. Both are used to treat opioid dependence and help with withdrawals. The following text was taken from an article on the FDA: 1. What are Suboxone and Subutex? Subutex and Suboxone are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence. 2. Why did the FDA approve two medications? Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride. This formulation was develo...

Hi. Bit of a random one, but basically I am considering signing up for a clinical trial that involves being dosed with buprenorphine and narolex. The trial involves receiving 100mg of narolex the day before dosing, which is an IV dose of buprenorphine, and then 50 mg of narolex for the best 3 days. I don't actually know the exact dose of buprenorphine atm (I will find out soon) so I guess this could make my question a bit difficult to answer, but basically I was wondering what level of side effects to expect from this? Obviously I know the narolex is designed to block the action of opoids, but should I still expect significant side effects from buprenorphine, ie nausea, as well as perhaps from the narolex itself? I have never used opoids before, so will have no form of tolerance. Al...

If I ate quarter of a suboxen on Thursday and a little piece on Friday how long would it take to get in my urine? Also how long to get out? ## Buprenorphine (Suboxone) can be detected in your urine for up to 1-3 days after your last dose. 37 hours is listed as the average half life for Buprenorphine. So I'd imagine that Buprenorphine and its metabolites are excreted through urine during this time frame and over the course of several days there-after until it's fully out of your system. Everyone's different though, so please keep in mind that these are only intended to be estimated time frames. I hope this helps! ## I took 3 quarters of a 8mg buprenorphine strip on Sunday and have a urine test Wednesday morning. Will it come up in my test?

I was wondering if it is possible to purchase synthetic urine off the internet or in stores that contains only Buprenorphine? I have to test negative for all drugs and positive for Subs. However, I have smoked and dissolving a Sub in urine doesn't work. Anyone know if they have a product like that for sale. I tried to google it and nothing shows up. ## I don't personally know, but I wish there was. I had the same issue when I was in suboxone treatment and wanted to use marijuana for my pain. I have searched but haven't heard of anything yet. Good luck.

Please help, I just got back from my PO and he said I tested positive for Buprenorphine, I have no idea what it is or how it would come out on a test and I am very concerned he is threatening to violate me. He is sending the sample for additional mass/spec testing, I take Cymblata and Elavil for Antidepressants. I also take Avaprex for weight loss and melatonin. Please help, my life is on the line. ## Have you gotten the additional results back yet? Buprenorphine is a narcotic that's used in the medications Subutex and Suboxone, which are most commonly used to treat drug addiction. Learn more Buprenorphine details here. neither the Cymbalta, nor the Elavil have been known to cause false positives for it. I can't check the Avaprex and Melatonin, because those are both just supple...

These are horrible. I have been taking these for about 3 weeks now. Along with the reduction in potentcy I am experiencing headaches. I was put on these at my request after 2 major abdominal surgeries after my bowel ruptured in 3 places. After being on Fentanyl and dilauded for 6 months in the Hospital and then 3 months after being released. After being on such strong opiates from the surgeries, I discussed this with my Doctor and we.agreed on Buprenorphine. Since this switch to the new oblong orange 153 pills I have to say, it is a noticeable difference and increased daily headaches. ## Hi Joel, Sorry to hear about your experience with the new Buprenorphine tablet. I've actually seen a few other posts on this site from patients who also agreed that this orange tablet wasn't as ...

I have used suboxone for opiate substitution treatment since 2006. I am on a monthly refill schedule. I picked up the refill yesterday and found that the table had changed from the orange five-sided tablet, to a thicker, white, round pill with 155 on one side and the crescent moon on the other. I was going to return it to the pharmacy when I decided to look it up online and am glad I found your site. ## Hi Robert! Very glad that you found the information you were seeking. There are some new Suboxone generics on the market and it is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch which one they provide you with, depending on whether or not generics come available and whatever manufacturer is offering the cheapest price at the time they need to restock their supply. It's how they keep p...

I am trying to recover fro, opiate addiction. I see a doctor in Pittsburgh PA Subutex or generic name buprenorphine but I live in WV I am not able to find a pharmacy that will fill my script. I have called several pharmacy's and have been told that they are no longer taking any new subutex prescriptions or that they will not fill any controlled substance scripts for people that live in WV. Can anyone let me know where I can find a pharmacy in or around Pittsburgh, Washington, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania or surrounding area? Thanks in advance :)

Round white pill with the imprints M 924 on one side and nothing on the other side. With no score on it. ## This tablet is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 8mgs of Buprenorphine, in a sublingual formulation, it is a generic for Subutex, which is most commonly used to treat drug addiction. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
