I take Amlodipine 5mg - it is sort of oval shaped and I find it difficult to swallow. I take it with nearly half a glass of water. However 2 days ago the pill got stuck at the back of my mouth and actually dissolved. I immediately felt a severe burning pain which was agony (I have a high pain threshold but this was unbearable). After some minutes the burning passed but for a time I couldn't eat or talk. My voice is still affected and at times drops to a whisper. I can't find anything relevant to this and I wonder if anyone else has experienced it. ## Many pills contain harsh ingredients that can cause those types of symptoms if the medication dissolves in your mouth or throat. I've experienced it several times, even just taking OTC Benadryl, it burned my mouth and made my to...

Can I take this medicine simultaneously with high blood pressure and cholesterol meds? ## It would be best not to take it, without your doctor's approval, since Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and it can cause elevated blood pressure as a side effect in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Active Ingredients: [1] Diclofenac / Diclofenaco: MedlinePlus [2] Thiamin / Tiamina (Vitamin B1): MedlinePlus [3] Pyridoxine / Piridoxina (Vitamin B6): MedlinePlus [4] Cyanocobalamin / Cianocobalamina (Vitamin B6): MedlinePlus I hope this helps! ## Hey, I been having a uncomfortable pain my upper left abdomen for a few months. If any one can tell me where to get some over the counter I would be very grateful thank you. ## There are actually quite a few people asking about this product here in the forum. From what I could gather, if it is still available, you do have to go to Germany to obtain it (and may even have to get a prescription for it there). And after having read more details, other users are suggesting that it could even be banned by now. Below is a response from another user in the forums who states that it is currently banned: "If this helps, X112 was taken off the market. It was banned from several countries because, as that one person correctly said, it was a form of speed. That's why it was illegal for millitary to take. When I was stationed in Germany in 1999, it was not over the count...

I accidentally took a double dose of irbesartan this morning (300 mg a pill), plus half of a metoprolol. What will happen? Side effects? ## Hello, Cathy! How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects? In most cases, a double dose is not dangerous, though the FDA does warn that doubling up may cause your blood pressure to drop lower than usual, which may also result in shallow breathing, and lowered heart rate. Are these the only medications you currently take? ## I forgot to take my Irbesartan 150 mg this morning and I took it at 1:30 pm! I take Metoprolol SUCC ER 50 mg! It is now 9:00 pm! Is it ok to take the Metoprolol now?

I need to be sure this pill is blood pressure medication... I found it in my purse and I am out of metoprolol tonight (prescription bottle is empty and pharmacy is closed). ## Yes, it is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they do list it as containing 50mgs of Metoprolol. NDC: 00378-0032 The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. In the future, it would be best to pick up a new supply, before running out, because if you don't have any for a few days, it could cause dangerous spikes in your blood pressure and heart rate, which may result in stroke, or heart attack. ## How are Metoprolol tartrate tablets supposed to look? Mine are pink with "M" over "32" on the back.

The doctor diagnosed me with hypertension and prescribed micardis. I'm experiencing headaches, dizziness, anxiety and all of this is affecting my quality of life. I've gone in for an ECG and CT scan and both reports say I have no problems. I stopped taking micardis today and the dizziness is still there but there's no anxiety. Could someone please tell me how long it would take for this medication to get out of my system? ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, according to NIH studies, it can also cause nausea, increased urination, and hypotension. However, if you have hypertension, it is very important to get it under control, so rather than just stopping, you should consult your doctor about trying a different medication. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE IS TAKING TOPROL XL AFTER STENT SURGERY? I AM NOW TAKING 2 DIOVAN 160/12.5 MG DAILY. I WOULD LIKE TO REDUCE THE COST AND TOPROL XL SEEMS TO BE LESS EXPENSIVE. ## I had open heart last month and was placed on toprol XL 100mg. It has done a great job keeping my heart rate &b/p down ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? They are the only person who can help you decide what would be best for you to take, given your stent surgery. Are you on any other medications? Ref: Toprol XL information Toprol may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination.

For several months I was taking Coreg tabs, 12.5 mg 2X day. I had mitral valve repair, and my MD doubled my dosage. Now I can barely move or concentrate--and have almost no energy. How long does getting acclimated to this drug at my docage take. I find this drug's side affects to be almost worse than my symptoms??? ## According to the FDA, Coreg may cause dizziness, fatigue, increased urination, joint pain, and vision changes as side effects. Ref: Coreg Information How long have you been on the new dosage? Typically, side effects last about 4 to 5 weeks, until your body gets used to the new dose.

I was put on 25 mg. of chlortalidone several months ago. I lost a lot of weight and felt terrible. I contacted my dr. and they had me cut it in half. I continued to not feel well and started having irregular heartbeat, tingling and numbness, muscle cramps. My dr. sent me to a cardiologist who ran a stress test and echocardiogram. It showed irregular heart rythmns but he said he thought I was ok. I had read about low potassium while on diuretics so he asked if I'd had a blood test (which I hadn't nor was it ever suggested). My potassium came back below normal so the cardiologist & fam dr. were all worried and told me to increase my potassium and get retested in a week. I did and my results came back normal. But I still feel awful--irregular heartbeat, tingling, stomach issues...

I WAS TAKING MET-XL, NOW MEDICAL STORE HAS GIVEN ME METOLAR-XR SAYING BOTH ARE SAME. PLEASE CLARIFY. ## Dif bitbeen metolar (cipla) or Metoprolol (jan ausdi) ## I am taking Amlopresss-5 mg (daily one) & recently doctor added met XL 25. These two are same or different uses? Plz. clarify ## Yes, all of the mentioned medications contain the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time released formulation. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Just, they are not the same, but both can be prescribed to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions, so it is best to follow your doctor's instructions for taking them, since allowing such a medical condition to get out of control has the pote...

Anyone have anxiety issues/panic attacks while on this med? I have started with Losartan about 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing anxiety. I take doxepin as an insomnia aid and have had to increase the dosage due to the increased insomnia and anxiety. Do this symptoms level off over time. Losartin seems to be helping my BP. ## Yes, the FDA does report anxiety, panic disorder and insomnia as being common side effects of this medication. You may also experience dizziness, headache and increased urination. Side effects are usually transient and will go away, once your body gets used to medication, but that may take about 4 to 5 weeks. If they worsen, or don't go away after that time frame, you should consult your prescriber. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks. The in...

I was put on Bystolic six days ago. My doctor removed me from Inderal (Propanalol) after being on that drug for 27 years. The reason she gave me is I have had bronchitis and she said Inderal accentuates the problems with asthma or bronchitis. Now, I have had bronchitis in years past and my former doctor never took me off of the drug. I now see that Bystolic is also contradictory to anyone with bronchitis and asthma problems. I have had bronchitis once this year so I don't understand the need to change. The side effects of the Bystolic have been awful, cold hands, shaky, exhausted. I wonder if this could be the withdrawal from the Inderal or the side effects? I called her associate doctor yesterday to tell him I was very uncomfortable with this and he said it couldn't be withdraw...

Is losartan a statin? My blood pressure is high and they changed my pill from perindopril 4mg to losartan potassium 100 mg. Now my blood pressure is even higher and they have given me bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg. Can l take an herbal remedy such as co-q10? ## No, losartan is not a statin. It is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist drug used mainly to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Among the benefits of taking CoQ10 supplements is helping to maintain healthy blood pressure levels that are already within the normal range. This should not be confused with the treatment of high blood pressure which falls outside of the “healthy blood pressure” category. While there is good evidence to support the use of CoQ10 in the treatment of high blood pressure, this should only be...
