About a month or so after starting 10mg of Atorvastatin I began to feel some congestion on the right side of my throat and the pill was sticking to that side of my throat and felt like it was tarting to dissolve there instead of continuing to move down my throat. I had to start taking applesauce to clear it. I have not had a problem before this and when I take larger gel capsule supplements they go down and do not stick. I am wondering if it is the Atorvastatin that has created this issue for the last 2 1/2 months? I went to see my throat doctor and some swelling was visible.

I have celiac disease and want to know if Atorvastatin is gluten free. Thanks ## The composition of inactive ingredients can really depend upon each manufacturer of Atorvastatin. Some may or may not contain any gluten, but if you know the marking or imprint on your tablet, it should be possible to find a list of the ingredients. What is cirrhosis of the liver with a HAI-Knodell of 6, as evidenced by a liver biopsy? After my blood test, it was found that I had a high reading on AST, ALT and GGT. Is it ok if I take livolin forte at this moment? Please advise. Thank you. ## Cirrhosis occurs, when normal, healthy liver tissue is replaced with other tissue, such as scar tissue. It can be caused by various liver diseases, alcoholism, some medications and other medical conditions. As to taking anything, even a nutritional supplement, some things are processed by the liver and could cause further damage. Therefore, I can only suggest that you discuss using it, with your doctor, before taking anything. I am advised by the doctor to take Tonact 10 for high Cholesterol. Now I have been taking it almost for a year. I sometimes feel weak and loose control of nerves. Is this kind of side effect? Should I discontinue? Still my Cholesterol levels are not very encouraging. ## this site is not medical professionals and even if we were, we could not properly advise you on what to do over the internet. That said, Tonact contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin and the side effects you are experiencing are normal for these Statin medications. My cholestrol level is 54 ## "Aztor (atorvastatin) is used along with diet, exercise, and weight-loss to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke and to decrease the chance that heart surgery will be needed in people who have heart disease or who are at risk of developing heart disease. Atorvastatin is also used to decrease the amount of cholesterol (a fat-like substance) and other fatty substances in the blood. A new NIH study just came out in finding that you can most likely stretch your dollar with the use of statins. Source: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28741244 ## Thank you very much for posting this study and valuable information. I was diagnosed with high Cholesterol and put on Aspavor. I believe that it is causing side effects such as high uric acid, fatigue and joint pains. I decided to stop taking the medication and try nutrition and healthy food in stead however I was told this could be dangerous and stopping Aspavor may cause heart attack.
