I take 15 mg Oxybutynin ER in the evening. This morning it came out whole in my stool. What's going on? ## Hello, Karin! How are you? I understand your concern, but I can assure you that it's completely normal. Some time released medications, such as this one, use the outer shell as part of the time release mechanism and it is not intended to be dissolved by your stomach acid. Think of it this way... the outer shell basically has 2 little holes in it, that are covered by a light coating and not very easy to see, the inner components are something similar to a sponge, plus the active medication... when you swallow the pill, your stomach acid dissolves that thin coating over the holes, then the sponge starts to absorb some stomach acid/fluids, which forces the medication slowly ou...

Tablets passing out in stool whole. Is this normal? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? The SR stands for sustained release and that frequently happens with time release tablets, but it is just the outer shell of the tablet. The medication is still released into your body and used. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank You very much.

I only want to share my experience with this drug levosulpiride. I have taken this tablet levosulpiride for 5 days in combination with rabicip and my stool became loose, motions increased 3 to 4 time a day and in a whole day i was feeling fatigue and tiredness. So on the 6th day i have stopped this drug and my motion and other problems improved. Now I am feeling better. ## I have taken Levosulpride for 15 days. My doctor prescribed it me for 1 month but I started experiencing a milky discharge from my breast and they have become hard and tender to touch. Is this a sign of breast cancer or just a side effect of the medicine? How long can Levosulpiride be taken? Kindly help me. I'm confused. Thank you.

i want to just s*** everything out so i can start my starves again. i ate for 3 whole days and im starving again. if i take too many is it possible to OD? ## Hi Kaylee, Sorry to hear about your situation. It's definitely possible to OD on virtually any medication. But if you're concerned about taking too much of one thing, what I would suggest is actually trying a different approach altogether. There are several types of foods you can eat throughout the day to help regulate bowel movements, so you don't have to rely on just the one medication. A combination of soluble and insoluble fiber from fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole-grains, can also help soften bowel movements. How long would you say this has been a problem for?

Hi , six week's after I gave birth i started to take birth control injection. Since then my baby has a very loose stomach if you don't know u will think it's diarrhoea. And again he doesn't sleep during the day, this is really worring me cos I'm breastfeeding ## That is the normal time it is given and said to be safe for the infant. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including weight gain, nausea, dizziness and irregular periods. Many children that are breast fed have very soft, grainy stools. Have you had this checked out by his pediatrician? Sleeping can be a whole different issue. How active is he?

I was on Omnicef almost 2 and half months ago now for a severe upper respitory infection, they gave me a antibiotic shot then 2 weeks of omnicef. I didn't realize I was having a reaction to it when my ankles, legs, hands, feet started swelling, I finished the whole 2 weeks of it. Thought it was maybe because I was so sick and inactivity. I started gaining weight and my ankles feet, legs, belly hands have continued to swell, I have continued to have loose stools and gain more weight, even though I am the healthiest eater out there. They tried a steroid shot to counteract this, does anyone know if there is anything else out there to stop this? I am very scared is this permanent? ## Hello, Carol! How are you doing? Has there been any change? The side effects from an given medication co...

I am taking Glycomet 1000mg -sustained release twice a day. But I find many a times that the whole tablet coming out in the stool. What is the reason? Does it mean that the system has not absobed the medicine? What is the way out? ## I am aged 63 and suffering from type 2 diabetes. The blood sugar level used to be erratic,at times shooting up to 300PP. I was advised Glycomet 500mg twice a day + Glycomet SR 500mg twice a day. But Glycomet SR was not getting absorbed in the system and I was observing the tablet coming out intact in the stools next morning. My Pharmacist on hearing that changed it to Gluconorm G 500 mg. Even that also comes out in the stool next morning. The tablet while coming out would be spongy in nature. With that and Galvus 50 mg twice a day blood sugar is controlled ...

my pot chloride 10 is passing through without digesting as they are whole in the stools, why? ## Hello, Lucky! How are you? You're just seeing the outer shell. Potassium, especially in this high of a dose, can be very harsh on your stomach, so these tablets are coated to help protect your stomach and to slowly release the potassium over time to try to prevent the stomach pain and severe nausea that it may cause otherwise. (Those are the FDA reported side effects.) Is there anything else I can help with?

I have taken 10 mg of viibryd for a week with loose stools, cramps in my stomach, sleepy in the morning to the point I need to pass out for 2-3 hours and then wake up for a few hours to then start being very aggravated and on edge. I have been taking two pills of Sulfameth Trimeth DS per day for the last 30 days. Can it cause constipation? ## Sulfameth/trimeth ds was prescribed to me for a staff infection in my right eye. I asked my doctor and pharmacist if it causes constipation. Their reply was no, but I am experiencing it. It makes my eyes sensitive to sunlight, and my left arm was twitching a little. I have head aches and I feel very fatigued. I just hope my bowels return to normal after this whole cycle is done with. ## Well, if you are taking the medication for 30days or more, you should not let the constipation last that long, it can be dangerous. You can try fiber tablets or stool softeners such as Dulcolax to get things moving again. In most cases, your doctor and pharmacist would be correct, antiobiotics...

Have been on cymbalta and now prrestique....nausea every day and very constipated...have been seeing my gastro dr. and think that the meds have been the reason. ## Unfortunately, most prescription medications can cause both of these side effects, you may also experience: drowsiness, dizziness and headache. They should wear off as your body adjusts to the medication. I had blood after motion for the second time after one month that 1st time it happened .. 1st time I thought it was due to more spicy in my food .. But 2nd time (after one month ) I didn't have any spicy food last night still I had bleed with motion but it follows the hard motion What kind of problem I have?? ## And also the bleeding stopped with after I have motion ..nor more bleeding .. Only bleeding for single time not continuously for the whole day ## Hello, Ravi! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Was it actual bright red blood that you saw when wiping, or was it dark brown/black blood that was mixed in the stool? If it was bright red when wiping, then you might have hemorrhoids. Have you consulted your doctor?

My doctor prescribed me Colestipol to help me with my diarrhea after my gallbladder surgery. I would like to know what it is for? ## Colestipol is generic for Colestid. It is used for high cholesterol, but is also used for people who have short term problems with diarrhea. Since it causes constipation in those who use it for lowering their cholesterol it has been used to help those with diarrhea. It is fairly new but seems to work well. Beware as it interacts with a whole list of other medications. ## It helps reduce the volume of stool produced, and how frequently you need to go from the diarrhea. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Colestipol as possibly including nausea, constipation, gas, and belching. Ref: Colestipol Information How long will you be taking it?
