My son has dry cough. What is the antibiotoc to be taken ## I'm sorry, but an antibiotic will not do anything to help a cough. They are only effective a treating or preventing bacterial infections. I've been on By-Mycin 100 since Saturday for a sinus infection, instructed to take 2 to start and take 1 a day for ten days. I feel a lot worse since starting treatment. My 5yr old was prescribed calvepen 250mg for tonsilitis. The 7 days are up and it has cleared up,no further temps.
