I have always been active, hiking, biking, walking. I am a former smoker though. Quit almost 20 years ago. About a year ago I was diagnosed with having low Thyroid levels and was put on levothyroxine 50mg. A couple of months later after more tests it was concluded that I have Hashimotos. Time frame August 2014-Aug 2015. In Jan 15 I noticed some asthma upon exertion and after talking with my doctor he suggested I carry an inhaler when exercising. I used the inhaler twice and then nothing for a couple of months although I did notice some gradual shortening of breath and headaches. Breathing got worse in April after a severe bout with bronchitis. Went back to Dr and he decided to try me on Armour. Still having shortness of breath but still able to take walks. About a month ago I went to se...

My Wife Is Suffering From Heavy Breathing, since 2 days , and she has complain of back pain also ## Anytime that someone is facing a medical emergency, you should contact your nearest emergency services department or take them there for proper diagnosis and treatment. Just from the information you have provided, no one can give you a definitive diagnosis and suggest treatments. That will require a doctor and the use of medical tests. There are many conditions that could cause this problem. Some are not actually dangerous and just cause discomfort, such as GERD, indigestion and gastritis. However, others, such a congestive heart failure, can be life threatening. Does she have any other medical conditions, such as high blood pressure? Does she suffer from peripheral edema?

Can it cause asthma like symptoms? As my relative takes high blood pressure and gemer1 and has suddenly developed very serious breathing problems and sometimes she's ok and it starts suddenly then may stop without medications or may need IV's for laxis, hydrocortisone, aminophiline together. ## What have the doctors said is causing it? If its genuine asthma, then that would be due to allergies and if she were allergic to the medication, it would happen every time she took it and most likely worsen with time. Has she been tested for allergies?

I have had pesistent cough and hard of breathing for 3 months. After several test my doctor could not identify any caurse for this condition . He however prescribed Prilocec for me .DO YOU THINK THAT PRILOSEC WILL BE ABLE TO HELP ME ## it could help. The doctor is treating you by trial and error. Prilosec is used for treating acid reflux. Some people dont have the reflux as a symptom they only have sore throat and chest pain. ## That is correct! Those symptoms can sometimes be caused by acid reflux and your doctor knows that, so in absence of other findings, he is going with a proper treatment for the most common cause. Prilosec contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, it is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. Learn more: Are ther...

I'm still waiting for a reply to someone's 5/21/2009 question---how long does Methacholine stay in the body after a challenge test? What is your recommendation as far as medication to remove this gunk off my lungs???????????????????? Been absolutely miserable with my breathing/lung congestion since this test. ## Metacholine is used to bronchial tests, such as diagnosing asthma. It s broken down at a relatively slow rate, but if you are still have problems this long after the test, you should contact your doctor. I went to my pulmonary doctor today. I wasn't sure if I had allergies or an upper respiratory infection (not severe). I have asthma, and did not do as well with my breathing tests as I usually do. The Doctor heard a slight wheezing in my chest. He gave me 5 days of Bactrim DS. Is this a normal dose or should he have ordered pills for more days. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? No, it can be used like that, if he thinks an infection might just be starting, or he's trying to prevent one. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am a 70 year old Indian male suffering from a breathing problem after severe symptoms of breathlessness developed one month ago. Along with other medicines Dytor Plus was prescribed. Now I am feeling weakness, pain and cramping in lower limbs. Please let me know what should be done? ## It sounds like they may have thought you had a heart or blood pressure problem, since that's what the NIH lists this medication as being used to treat. Did they do any tests? Have you consulted a cardiologist? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? Do you take any other medications? The symptoms you've listed can be common side effects of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, you may also experience headache, nausea, and frequent urination.

I started Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg being one tab every 12 hours. I was in the hospital with a blood pressure of 200/130, sometimes higher with a high pulse and irregular heartbeat. I experienced tightening in chest, slight difficulity in breathing, and extreme variables in my pressures. Most of the time they are in the normal range, but occasionally my systolic has dropped under 100 and my diastolic was 58. I am monitoring my foods and am also taking Ativan twice daily. I am terrified. Anybody else have these variables in pressures? I have only been on the medicines for four weeks now. I have had diabetes and thyroid neg testing. I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder??? Never heard of it before. All my family including five siblings have high blood pressure as well. ## These types of vari...

Can you take Nitromin spray for anxiety, I often suffer from tightness in the chest and shallow breathing, after meals, bedtime, or when rushing around. I have been checked by hospital and they tell me after a number of tests I'm 100%. However they did give me this spay before I attended hospital to try and seemed to work the one time I used it, but I don't know how often or if I should be taking it, hospital told me nothing, but I still get the anxiety discomfort and wondered if its ok to use? ## I'd not recommend it, if you're experiencing anxiety, you're likely already developing a more rapid heartbeat from that and this medication can cause that as a side effect, so it could end up being too much and may cause damage. Other side effects as reported by the FDA may...

Is anyone had allergic reactions to Levothyroxine? My neck is on fire and itching and the only change has been from Synthroid .75 to Levothyroxine .88. Last test showed 8.2 level after being on .75 for 6+ years. ## It's possible to have an allergic reaction to anything you take, but isn't necessarily dependent on whether or not it has happened to anyone else. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. However, since it's involving your neck, there is a chance that it may worsen and if it spreads internally, it could obstruct your breathing. Thus, you need to contact your doctor to discuss the problem. How are you feeling today?

Hi, I am a 34 year old male. For the last 2-3 years I had palpitations and 1-2 episodes of Spvt (or short Atrial fibrillation lasting 10-30 seconds) per Month. (My cardiologist said that based on my symptoms). I have done Ecg, Echo, holter and a stress test. All results were fine. But, I was scared a lot by those episodes and over time, a doctor suggested me to take a low dose of some Beta blockers. I have happily accepted that... Before this, I was able to walk 1 hour every day (without any problems) and live a regular life (except playing sports since it could trigger the spvt sometimes). In January 2015, I started to take the lowest those of Nebivolol. Everything was fine for the first few weeks, but then I started to experience breathing problems, while walking, sitting, watching tv...
