Plainly stated, opinions vary on the top 5 list of popular Rx's. Xanax alone will after a time become habit forming and difficult to stop. Hydrocodone alone has similar properties. Possibly the most abused combo out there. Clonazepam is safe, and does not have the synergistic sedation of hydrocodone and Xanax. ## Hello, Kim! How are you? I'm sorry, but actually Clonazapem can cause the same types of issues with narcotics as Xanax, it is also a benzodiazepine, so it increases sedation, just like the rest of them do. All of the medications you've mentioned are known to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, drowsiness and dry mouth. Are there any questions or concerns? ## I currently take hydrocodone 10/325 QID and only at night t...

It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to treat many different types of pain conditions, such as arthritis. This is Gabapentin, 800mgs, a generic for Neurontin, which is used to prevent Epilepsy seizures and to treat certain types of nerve pain. Find a private doctor that treats with methodone or other narcotics for chronic pain. Nashua, NH or Lowell,Ma areas. ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? If you require these types of medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, then due to the regulations that were put in place last year, you'll have to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, getting them to refer you to someone is usually the easiest way to get in with a specialist to get the help you need. Does anyone know of a good doctor in the area?

gabaneuron was prescribed for severe pain at the last vertibrate ## Gabeneuron contains the active ingredients Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin and is used to treat certain types of nerve pain. Mine says for pain and mood. In what way would this help pain? Or maybe I should rephrase what is in it to relieve pain? ## Hello, Suzette! How are you? It can help with some types of nerve pain, due to it's action in the brain. Many people have had good luck with these types of medications, which means they can avoid resorting to possibly habit forming narcotics. Thus, there's nothing else special in it, it's the Venlafaxine itself that can help. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

My doctor of over twenty years fear of new laws took my narcotics away. Lyrica causes weight gain & my face & legs to swell. Advil made my mouth swell shut so narcotics were a few of only things I could take. I wish the pill mill doctor would be sentence to two years of what i live with. constant pain even with med, living a tortured life watching others live. Your doctor didn't refer you somewhere else? You can still get those types of medications, they just have to be prescribed by a specialist, which for you would be someone trained in pain management. ## Hey! To be more specific, these are both anticonvulsants that have also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. That said, no, you shouldn't take both, because you would be essentially doubling up on the same medication, which could result in overdose. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take both. 1st time taking oxycontin what can i expect? ## Hi thrillseeker, From what I've read, 40mg is considered to be somewhat of a high dose for a first time user. However, your reaction to it really depends a lot on your tolerance to narcotics. Someone who has taken them on a frequent basis and in higher doses will likely need to have more in order to notice any sort of effect on their pain levels. Also, you may want to be fully aware of the potential side effects that are commonly associated with narcotics (i.e. dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, dry mouth, etc). A more complete list of side effects can be found here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682132.html#side-effects Have you taken any other types of pain medications prior to getting oxycontin?
